	thánh lễ hôm thứ Sáu 6 tháng 2 tại nhà nguyện Santa Marta, Đức Thánh Cha 
	Phanxicô đã lên tiếng kêu gọi mọi người hãy nhớ đến các vị tử đạo của năm 
	2015, những người nam nữ, và trẻ em bị tàn sát ngay bây giờ vì hận thù đức 
	tin. Ngài nói rằng các cuộc tử đạo của các tín hữu Kitô không phải chỉ là 
	chuyện của quá khứ, nhưng là chuyện của cả hôm nay, với rất nhiều nạn nhân 
	của &quot;những người thù ghét Chúa Giêsu Kitô&quot;.</font></p>
	<p style="margin-top: 0cm; margin-bottom: 8pt"><font face="Arial">Đức Giáo 
	Hoàng đã trình bày những suy tư của ngài về cuộc đời và cái chết của Thánh 
	Gioan Tiền Hô, theo Tin Mừng Thánh Marcô. Nhắc đến vị &quot;Đại Gioan&quot; này, Đức 
	Giáo Hoàng nói rằng cuộc sống của ngài là một thí dụ cho nhiều người, nhiều 
	Kitô hữu mà máu của họ đang đổ ra ngày hôm nay vì họ tuyên xưng một Thiên 
	Chúa mà nhiều người thù ghét.</font></p>
	<p style="margin-top: 0cm; margin-bottom: 8pt"><font face="Arial">Đức Thánh 
	Cha Phanxicô đã lưu ý rằng Thánh Gioan Tiền Hô &quot;không bao giờ phản bội ơn 
	gọi của mình&quot;, thánh nhân &quot;ý thức rằng nhiệm vụ của mình chỉ là để công bố&quot; 
	rằng Đấng Cứu Thế &quot;đã gần đến&quot;. Thánh Gioan Tiền Hô đã nhận thức được rằng 
	ngài &quot;chỉ là một tiếng nói,&quot; bởi vì &quot;Ngôi Lời là người khác&quot; và ông &quot;kết 
	thúc cuộc sống của mình như Chúa, nghĩa là chết vì đạo&quot;.</font></p>
	<p style="margin-top: 0cm; margin-bottom: 8pt"><b><font face="Arial">Thánh 
	Gioan là nạn nhân của một vị vua tham nhũng</font></b></p>
	<p style="margin-top: 0cm; margin-bottom: 8pt"><font face="Arial">Đức Thánh 
	Cha Phanxicô nói tiếp rằng khi bị giam giữ trong nhà tù của Herôđê Antipas, 
	thánh Gioan, là &quot;người đàn ông vĩ đại nhất do người phụ nữ sinh ra&quot; đã trở 
	nên &quot;nhỏ bé, rất bé nhỏ&quot;. Trước hết, ngài bị chới với bởi một khoảng tối 
	trong tâm hồn khi ngài nghi ngờ không biết Chúa Giêsu có phải chính là Đấng 
	mà ngài đã dọn đường hay không. Thánh nhân lại bị chới với một lần nữa khi 
	ngài đứng trước cái chết của mình theo lệnh của một vị vua vừa ngưỡng mộ, 
	vừa bối rối trước Gioan. Đó là một kết cục đã làm cho Đức Giáo Hoàng phải 
	dừng lại để suy tư:</font></p>
	<p style="margin-top: 0cm; margin-bottom: 8pt"><font face="Arial">&quot;Cuối cùng, 
	sau sự thanh tẩy này, sau khi liên tục chìm vào hư không, vào con đường 
	hướng đến cái chung kết của Chúa Giêsu, cuộc sống của ngài đã kết thúc. Vị 
	vua bối rối đã có khả năng đưa ra một quyết định, nhưng không phải vì con 
	tim nhà vua đã thay đổi, nhưng vì rượu cho ông cái can đảm đó. Vì thế, Thánh 
	Gioan đã kết thúc cuộc đời mình dưới thẩm quyền của một vị vua tầm thường, 
	say rượu, băng hoại, chiều theo sở thích của một vũ nữ và sự thù hận thù của 
	một phụ nữ ngoại tình. Đó là cách người đàn ông vĩ đại nhất được sinh ra bởi 
	người phụ nữ kết thúc đời mình&quot;.</font></p>

	Hoàng nói: &quot;Khi tôi đọc đoạn này tôi thú nhận tôi rất xúc động&quot; và tôi luôn 
	nghĩ về &quot;hai điều&quot;: &quot;Đầu tiên, tôi nghĩ đến các vị tử đạo của chúng ta, các 
	vị tử đạo của thời đại chúng ta, những người nam nữ, và trẻ em đang bị bách 
	hại, thù ghét, bị đuổi ra khỏi nhà của họ, bị tra tấn, tàn sát Và đây không
