<p style="margin-top: 0cm; margin-bottom: 8pt"><font face="Arial">Đức Hồng y
Phêrô Nguyễn Văn Nhơn sinh ngày 1.4.1938 tại Đà Lạt. Ngày 26.10.1949, nhập
học Tiểu chủng viện Thánh Giuse Sài Gòn. Từ năm 1958 đến năm 1968 là đại
chủng sinh khóa đầu tiên Giáo Hoàng Học Viện Thánh Piô X Đà Lạt. Ngày
21.12.1967, thụ phong linh mục tại Giáo phận Đà Lạt.</font></p>
<p style="margin-top: 0cm; margin-bottom: 8pt"><font face="Arial">Từ năm
1968 đến năm 1972, Giáo sư Tiểu chủng viện Đà Lạt. Sau đó, từ năm 1972 đến
năm 1975, làm Giám đốc Ðại chủng viện Minh Hòa Đà Lạt. </font></p>
<p style="margin-top: 0cm; margin-bottom: 8pt"><font face="Arial">Ngày
1.4.1975, ngài được cử đi làm Chánh xứ Nhà thờ chính tòa Đà Lạt. Đến ngày
10.9.1975, ngài trở thành Tổng đại diện Giáo phận Đà Lạt. Ngày 11.10.1991,
ngài được Tòa Thánh bổ nhiệm làm Giám mục phó Giáo phận Đà Lạt.Ngài chọn
khẩu hiệu là “Ngài phải lớn lên” (Ga 3,30). Ngày 3.12.1991, được tấn phong
Giám Mục Giáo Phận Đà Lạt. </font></p>
<p style="margin-top: 0cm; margin-bottom: 8pt"><font face="Arial">Ngày
22.4.2010, ngài được ĐGH Biển Đức XVI bổ nhiệm làm Tổng Giám Mục Phó Tổng
giáo phận Hà Nội với quyền kế vị. </font></p>
<p style="margin-top: 0cm; margin-bottom: 8pt"><font face="Arial">Ngày
13.5.2010, ĐGH Biển Đức XVI chấp nhận đơn từ chức của Tổng Giám Mục Giáo
phận Hà Nội Giuse Ngô Quang Kiệt vì lý do sức khỏe. Tổng Giám Mục Phó Phêrô
Nguyễn Văn Nhơn đương nhiên lên kế vị.</font></p>
<p style="margin-top: 0cm; margin-bottom: 8pt"><font face="Arial">Ngày
4.1.2015, ngài được ĐGH Phanxicô chon làm Hồng Y. </font></p>
<p style="margin-top: 0cm; margin-bottom: 8pt"><font face="Arial">Trong lễ
nhận chức Phó TGM tại Nhà Thờ Chính Tòa Hà Nội ngày 7.5.2010, ngài đã mở đầu
lời đáp từ như sau: </font></p>
<p style="margin-top: 0cm; margin-bottom: 8pt"><font face="Arial">“Tôi đến
đây vì vâng lời Chúa và vâng lời Ðức Thánh Cha. Tôi xác tín rằng: đối với
đời sống và công việc của Hội Thánh, chúng ta phải dựa vào đức Tin, đức Cậy,
đức Mến và Ơn Chúa Thánh Thần, nhất là chúng ta đặt tin tưởng vào ơn khôn
ngoan của Chúa Thánh Thần, mà ơn khôn ngoan của Chúa Thánh Thần và của Chúa
Kitô thì gắn liền với mầu nhiệm Thánh Giá. Trong dòng lịch sử trải dài hai
nghìn năm, Hội Thánh đã tiến bước trong cuộc lữ hành đức tin"giữa những cơn
bách hại do thế gian gây ra, và những ơn an ủi do Thiên Chúa ban tặng" - lời
Thánh Augustinô, được Công Ðồng Vaticanô II nhắc lại trong Hiến Chế tín lý
về Giáo Hội (x. GH số 8d). Lịch sử Giáo Hội tại Việt nam cũng diễn ra theo
quy luật đó…” </font></p>
<p style="margin-top: 0cm; margin-bottom: 8pt"><font face="Arial">Và ngài đã
kết thúc lời đáp từ: </font></p>
<p style="margin-top: 0cm; margin-bottom: 8pt"><font face="Arial">“Tôi tha
thiết cầu chúc ơn Bình An cho Ðức Tổng Giuse, Ðức Cha Phụ Tá Lôrensô, và mọi
thành phần Dân Chúa của Tổng Giáo Phận Hà Nội thân yêu. Tất cả chúng ta cần
ơn Bình An đó, để đến lượt chúng ta trở thành "khí cụ bình an của Chúa",
bằng cách "biết mến yêu và phụng sự Chúa trong mọi người", như chúng ta vẫn
luôn cầu nguyện sốt sắng với Kinh Hoà Bình.”</font></p>
<p style="margin-top: 0cm; margin-bottom: 8pt"><font face="Arial">Trong bài
chia sẻ Tin Mừng ngày 7.5.2010 ngài nói rõ thêm: </font></p>
<p style="margin-top: 0cm; margin-bottom: 8pt"><font face="Arial">“Anh chị
em rất thân mến, tôi đến với anh chị em không mang theo tâm tình hay hành
trang nào khác ngoài sứ điệp của Tin Mừng Ðức Giêsu Kitô, và điều tôi mong
muốn được phục vụ anh chị em cũng không gì khác hơn là điều mà Phaolô và
Barnaba đem lại cho các Kitô hữu ở Antiôkia, theo sự ủy thác của "Thánh Thần
và Hội Thánh", đó là Tình Yêu Cứu Ðộ của Thiên Chúa dành cho mọi con người,
một tình yêu phá bỏ mọi khoảng cách và tạo nên sự hiệp nhất trong Hội Thánh
cũng như trong cộng đồng nhân loại. </font></p>
<p style="margin-top: 0cm; margin-bottom: 8pt"><font face="Arial">“Cho dù
Hội Thánh có nhiều chức vụ khác nhau, nhiều đặc sủng khác nhau, nhiều hoạt
động khác nhau, nhưng tất cả đều là để phục vụ cho Tình Yêu Cứu Ðộ của Thiên
Chúa trong Ðức Kitô. Ước gì tất cả chúng ta trong Tổng Giáo Phận Hà Nội thân
yêu này dám tin rằng, chỉ có Tình Yêu là đáng kể, và chớ gì sự hiệp nhất của
tất cả chúng ta, các kitô hữu, sẽ là dấu chỉ khả tín cho Tin Mừng Cứu Ðộ của
Ðức Giêsu Kitô trong cuộc sống hôm nay.”</font></td>
