Bẩy 7 tháng 2, Đức Giáo Hoàng Phanxicô đã thúc giục các nhà lãnh đạo doanh
nghiệp dành ưu tiên cho phẩm giá con người, và đề nghị ba cách để làm điều
này: Thứ nhất, hướng đến các ưu tiên thực sự chứ đừng dậm chân ở những gì là
khẩn cấp. Thứ hai hãy là những chứng nhân của tình bác ái. Thứ ba, hãy đóng
vai trò là những người quản lý chứ không phải là các chủ nhân ông của hành
tinh chúng ta.</font></p>
<p style="margin-top: 0cm; margin-bottom: 8pt"><font face="Arial">Nhận xét
của Đức Thánh Cha đã được ra trong một thông điệp video được phát trong cuộc
gặp gỡ của 500 vị đại diện cho các tổ chức chính trị và kinh doanh quốc tế
đang nhóm họp tại thành phố Milan của Ý để thảo luận về các chủ đề: Nuôi
sống hành tinh của chúng ta, Năng lượng cho cuộc sống. Đây là chủ đề được
chọn cho cuộc triển lãm quốc tế Expo 2015 sẽ khai mở vào tháng Năm tại thành
phố này.</font></p>

bài phát biểu của ngài hồi cuối tháng Mười Một năm ngoái tại hội nghị Lương
thực Thế giới và các Tổ chức Nông nghiệp, Đức Giáo Hoàng cho biết mối quan
tâm đầu tiên cho tất cả chúng ta khi xem xét các vấn đề của nông nghiệp và
sản xuất lương thực là con người và tất cả những người đang bị đói. Một lần
nữa, ngài lên tiếng than phiền cái nghịch lý của xã hội hiện đại trong đó kẻ
ăn không hết người lần không ra, hành tinh này là nơi có đủ thực phẩm cho
tất cả mọi người, nhưng không phải tất cả cư dân của hành tinh này đều có
thực phẩm cần thiết hàng ngày. Nhiều nơi người ta tiêu thụ quá mức và lãng
phí thực phẩm và dùng thực phẩm cho các mục đích khác. Trong khi, không
thiếu những nơi người ta đang chết vì đói.</font></p>
