ĐTC cầu nguyện và liên đới với các thuyền nhân vượt biên bị thiệt mạng vì
trên đường vượt biên đến đảo Lampedusa cực nam Italia.</font></p>

vào cuối buổi tiếp kiến chung sáng ngày 11-2-2015 tại Quảng trường Thánh
Phêrô, ĐTC nói: ”Tôi lo âu theo dõi những tin tức đến từ đảo Lampedusa, nơi
đã có thêm những người chết trong số những người di dân, vì lạnh, trong cuộc
vượt biên qua Địa Trung Hải. Tôi muốn đoan chắc cầu nguyện cho các nạn nhân
và tái khuyến khích liên đới với họ, để không ai bị theo sự cứu giúp cần
thiết”.</font></p>
<p style="margin-top: 0cm; margin-bottom: 8pt"><font face="Arial">Sau cùng,
tôi mời gọi anh chị em cầu nguyện cho Công nghị Hồng Y nhóm trong những ngày
tới đây. Xin Chúa Thánh Linh phù trợ công việc của Hồng Y đoàn và soi sáng
cho các Hồng Y mới và công việc phục vụ của các vị dành cho Giáo Hội”.</font></p>
<p style="margin-top: 0cm; margin-bottom: 8pt"><font face="Arial">Hôm
9-2-2015 có 29 thuyền nhân trẻ, tuổi từ 15 đến 20, bị chết lạnh ở kênh
Sicilia, cách đảo Lampedusa của Italia hơn 100 hải lý. Có 75 người sống sót.</font></p>
<p style="margin-top: 0cm; margin-bottom: 8pt"><font face="Arial">Trưa ngày
11-2-2015, bà Carlotta Sami, thuộc cao Ủy tị nạn LHQ cho biết có thêm hơn
300 thuyền nhân bị chết, họ đi trên 4 xuồng bằng cao su. Con số này dựa trên
chứng từ của 9 người sống sót trong tai nạn này.</font></p>
