22 tháng Giêng là chính quyền Nga phải tìm mọi cách giảm bớt tỷ lệ phá thai
“quá sức hãi hùng” tại Nga.</font></p>
<p style="margin-top: 0cm; margin-bottom: 8pt"><font face="Arial">Ngài liên
kết tình trạng này với sự chối bỏ các chuẩn mực đạo đức trong thế giới
phương Tây. Ngài nói:</font></p>
<p style="margin-top: 0cm; margin-bottom: 8pt"><font face="Arial">"Người ta
đang cổ xúy cho cái ý tưởng hoàn toàn ưu tiên cho tự do lựa chọn và từ chối
các chuẩn mực đạo đức. Điều đó đã trở thành một quả bom nổ chậm cho nền văn
minh phương Tây"</font></p>

Phụ đã nói như trên trong một bài phát biểu trước các nhà lập pháp. Bài nói
chuyện của ngài được mô tả bởi các phương tiện truyền thông nhà nước như là
diễn từ đầu tiên của người đứng đầu Giáo Hội Chính thống Nga tại viện Duma,
tức là Hạ Nghị Viện của Nga sau chế độ cộng sản.</font></p>

thêm:</font></p>
<p style="margin-top: 0cm; margin-bottom: 8pt"><font face="Arial">"Nếu chúng
ta có thể giảm bớt một nửa số ca nạo phá thai, chúng ta sẽ có sự tăng trưởng
dân số ổn định và mạnh mẽ. Khả năng của Nga để đứng lên đối mặt với các chủ
thuyết suy đồi và giả tạo phụ thuộc phần lớn vào lập trường tích cực của các
dân biểu Nga".</font></p>

Nga đã giảm đáng kể từ giữa những năm 1990. Dân số Nga hiện nay là
