<font face="Arial">Vào tối thứ Ba 06 tháng Giêng vừa qua Thánh Lễ thứ 1,000
cầu cho hòa bình và hòa giải trên bán đảo Triều Tiên đang bị chia cắt này
được tổ chức tại Nhà thờ Chính tòa Minh Đổng do Đức Hồng Y Andrew Yeom
Soo-jung chủ tế. Những Thánh Lễ cầu nguyện như vậy đã được tổ chức kể từ khi
Đức Hồng Y Stephen Kim Sou-hwan chủ tế Thánh Lễ đầu tiên vào ngày 07 tháng
Ba năm 1995. Những Thánh lễ tiếp theo được cử hành bởi Đức Hồng Y Nicholas
Cheong Jin-suk, khi đó ngài là Giám mục Phụ tá, và kể từ năm 2000, các tân
linh mục mới chịu chức trong mỗi năm sẽ dâng lễ cầu nguyện.</font></p>

Giám Mục Andrew Choi Chang-moo của Gwangju giảng lễ, ngài là Chủ tịch thứ
nhất của Ủy ban Hoà giải Dân tộc Triều Tiên. Đức Tổng Giám mục Choi mở ra
các kênh tương tác giữa các Giáo Hội Công Giáo ở miền Nam và miền Bắc, ngài
cũng đã thực hiện chuyến thăm mục vụ chính thức đầu tiên đến Bình Nhưỡng hồi
năm ngoái.</font></p>

Phục hưng Tinh thần, một phong trào hiệp nhất Công Giáo Hàn Quốc và 54 nhà
thờ Công Giáo ở Bắc Triều Tiên, hiện chủ yếu vẫn chỉ nằm trong ký ức những
người Hàn Quốc.</font></p>

đến 18 tháng Tám năm 2014, bế mạc Đại hội Giới trẻ Á Châu và tuyên thánh cho
124 vị tử đạo Hàn Quốc. Vào ngày cuối cùng của chuyến tông du, ngài đã cử
hành Thánh lễ cầu cho hòa bình và hòa giải trên bán đảo Triều Tiên cũng tại
ngôi nhà thờ này.</font></td>
