<p><b><font face="Arial">Zenit: Cha có thể nói với độc giả của chúng ta về
cuộc viếng thăm bất ngờ của Đức Giáo Hoàng Phanxicô xẩy ra thế nào, một cuộc
viếng thăm không có trong chương trình.</font></b></p>
<p><font face="Arial">Cha Dauchez: Cuộc viếng thăm của Đức Thánh Cha cả là
một ngỡ ngàng quá sức. Sau khi cử hành Thánh Lễ ở Vương Cung Thánh Đường
Manila sáng hôm 16/1 thì ngài đi bộ đến một trong những trung tâm của Cơ
Quan chúng tôi, nơi tập trung rẻ em bụi đời. Các em hy vọng được thấy ngài
đi ngang qua! Thật là một giây phút không thể nào quên được. Ngài đã ở đó
với các em khoảng 15 phút, không có những lời lẽ quan trọng nào, mà hầu như
suốt thời gian ở đó ngài chỉ ôm chặt lấy các em trong vòng tay của ngài.
Niềm cảm thương là đề tài của ngài cho chuyến viếng thăm Phi Luật Tân; ngài
đã biến nó thành một thực tại đơn sơ giản dị và đã sống với thành phần trẻ
em của lề đường Manila. </font></p>
<p><b><font face="Arial">Zenit: Cha đã nói gì với ngài và ngài đã nói gì với
cha?</font></b></p>
<p><font face="Arial">Cha Dauchez: Tôi chỉ nói mấy lời vắn gọn cùng Đức
Thánh Cha để giới thiệu trẻ em ở trước mặt ngài. Tôi muốn ngài biết rằng
hằng trăm nụ cười ngài trông thấy đôi khi đã che giấu chính những câu chuyện
khó khăn. Tôi muốn niềm vui chân thực được trẻ em bày tỏ cùng ngài không làm
cho người ta quên cái xấu xa đồi hại của sự dữ đang tấn công các em hằng
ngày. Tôi hầu hết nói bằng Tiếng Anh để mọi người có thể hiểu được, thế
nhưng tôi đã kết thúc bằng một cụm từ Pháp ngữ để Đức Thánh Cha hiểu hơn nữa,
như thế này: "Những trẻ em này, nghèo khổ giữa thành phần nghèo khổ, là kho
tàng của Giáo Hội chúng ta; các em là thày dạy chúng ta về niềm vui'. Sau đó
Đức Giáo Hoàng Phanxicô đã tiến đến với tôi và, nói bằng tiếng Pháp một cách
ngon lành, đã cám ơn tôi về công việc phục vụ những trẻ em này và gia đình
của các em, và ngài đã chấm dứt bằng mấy lời phấn khích tôi rằng: 'Những trẻ
em này là xác thịt của Chúa Kitô'. </font></p>
<p><b><font face="Arial">Zenit: Đâu là những tác dụng nơi các em thành phần
đã tỏ ra hết sức hồn nhiên như thể các em đã quen biết Đức Thánh Cha rồi vậy?</font></b></p>
<p><font face="Arial">Cha Dauchez: Khi an ninh của Đức Giáo Hoàng nói với
chúng tôi rằng Đức Thánh Cha sẽ đến thăm trung tâm, tôi thực sự đến các thứ
luật tắc cần phải tuân giữ để đón tiếp ngài... thế nhưng chính các em đã
không lúng túng với những vấn đề ấy. Bé Alvin, với sứ vụ nghênh đón Đức
Thánh Cha, chỉ biết lao mình vào cánh tay của ngài. Tất nhiên là Đức Thánh
Cha đã ghì lấy em. Chúng ta đã từng có ấn tượng khi thấy trước mắt chúng ta
bức họa của Rembrandt về Người Con Hoang Đàng. Bấy giờ Đức Giáo Hoàng
Phanxicô đã tiến đến với các em đang hết sức hớn hỏ chờ đón ngài, và ngài đã
bỏ giờ ra chào các em bao lâu có thể. Cảnh tượng này thật là cảm kích và tôi
đã cố gắng hết sức để khỏi rơi nước mắt: Vị Đại Diện Chúa Kitô đã đến gặp gỡ
những con người bị hất hủi nhất... Khi nghĩ lại tất cả những câu chuyện kinh
hoàng của những trẻ em ấy, tôi khóc khi chứng kiến thấy một cảnh tượng trong
phúc âm. </font></p>
<p><b><font face="Arial">Zenit: Cha có nghĩ rằng cuộc viếng thăm ấy cũng đã
gây ảnh hưởng nơi Đức Giáo Hoàng Phanxicô chăng?</font></b></p>
<p><font face="Arial">Cha Dauchez: Chắc chắn rồi, vì ngài đã nói đến cuộc
gặp gỡ này của ngài với trẻ em hè phố ấy trong bài giảng của ngài ở các lúc
khác trong chuyến đi của ngài. Ngài thực sự là đã biến những gì ngài nói
thành hành động. Đức Thánh Cha cho thấy tính chất rất nhất trí ở chỗ ngài
không chỉ nói năng và phấn khích, mà còn chứng tỏ bằng các hành động của
ngài nữa. Tuy nhiên, tôi nghĩ rằng cái ảnh hưởng lớn nhất đối với ngài đó là
ngài bị chìm ngập vào một bầu khí tràn ngập hân hoan chân thực. Ngài đã sâu
xa hiểu được rằng những trẻ em này thông phần một cách sâu xa vào các khổ
đau của Chúa Kitô trên thập giá; các em chắc chắn được chia sẻ niếm vui mà
Người là nguồn mạch.</font></td>
