Thiên Chúa, vì Người đã muốn tự mạc khải và cứu rỗi con người trong lịch
sử”, Đức Thánh Cha đã giải thích trong bài giảng: “Thời gian đã bị Chúa
Kitô, con Thiên Chúa và Mẹ Maria “tác động”, và đã trở thành thời kỳ “cứu
chuộc”, “thời kỳ của ân sủng.”</font></p>

một cuộc duyệt xét lương tâm và duyệt lại tất cả những gì đã xẩy ra.” Cần
phải “tạ ơn Chúa về tất cả những gì tốt lành đã nhận được và đã thành tựu”,
và “xin tha thứ cho tất cả những thiếu sót và tội lỗi”.</font></p>

<font face="Arial">Đối với Đức Thánh Cha “thái độ về tác động ân sủng giúp
cho có sự khiêm tốn, để nhận biết và đón nhận những ơn lành của Chúa.” Mục
đích căn bản của tác động ân sủng chính là sự cứu chuộc con người bởi “Chúa
Kitô đã nhập thể trong lòng Trinh Nữ Maria và chết trên thập giá.”</font></p>

nghe theo “con đường của sự dữ”. Vì thế, vào cuối một năm đã qua và là đêm
trước của một năm mới, các Kitô hữu được mời gọi phải “cầu xin ơn trên để có
thể bước đi trong tự do, để sửa sai những thiệt hại gây ra và để chống lại
với sự tưởng nhớ tình trạng nô lệ.”</font></p>

hướng ngăn cản sự giải phóng”: con người “sợ hãi sự tự do” và thích hơn “ít
hay nhiều sự nô lệ.” Tự do làm cho sợ hãi vì buộc phải đối phó với các trách
nhiệm… Tình trạng nô lệ giảm thiểu thời gian thành “một thời điểm” và khiến
cho có cảm tưởng được an toàn.”</font></p>

<font face="Arial">Nhưng trên thực tế, sự nô lệ “ngăn không cho sống viên
mãn và sống thực sự trong hiện tại, vì khoảng trống trong quá khứ ngăn không
cho hướng về tương lai và vĩnh cửu. Sự nô lệ làm cho chúng ta tin rằng chúng
ta không thể mơ tưởng, không thể bay bổng, và không thể hy vọng.” Sự nô lệ
