<p><b><font face="Arial">Anh chị em thân mến, </font></b></p>
<p><font face="Arial">Phúc Âm hôm nay cho thấy việc Chúa Giêsu bắt đầu rao
giảng ở Galilêa. Thánh Marcô nhấn mạnh rằng Chúa Giêsu bắt đầu rao giảng "sau
khi Gioan bị giam giữ" (1:14). Chính vào thời điểm mà tiếng nói tiên tri của
Vị Tẩy Giả, người đã loan báo việc xuất hiện của Vương Quốc Thiên Chúa, bị
Hêrôđê bịt miệng ấy thì Chúa Giêsu bắt đầu bước đi trên các nẻo đường quê
hương của Người để mang đến cho tất cả mọi người, nhất là người nghèo, "Phúc
Âm của Thiên Chúa" (cùng nguồn vừa dẫn). Lời loan báo của Chúa Giêsu tương
tự như lời loan báo của Thánh Gioan, ngoại trừ một điều chính yếu ở chỗ Chúa
Giêsu không nói đến một vị khác phải đến, đó là chính Bản Thân Chúa Giêsu,
Đấng là tất cả viên trọn những gì được hứa hẹn; Người là "tin mừng" cần phải
tin tưởng, đón nhận và truyền đạt cho con người nam nữ thuộc tất cả mọi thời
đại, nhờ đó họ cũng có thể tín thác cho Người cuộc sống của họ. Chính Bản
Thân Chúa Giêsu Kitô là Lời hằng sống và Người sống động trong lịch sử để ai
lắng nghe Người và theo Người sẽ được vào Vương Quốc của Thiên Chúa.</font></p>
<p><font face="Arial">Chúa Giêsu là tất cả viên trọn của lời hứa thần linh,
vì Người là Đấng ban cho nhân loại Thánh Linh, là "nước hằng sống" làm giản
khát tâm hồn khắc khoải của chúng ta khao khát sự sống, yêu thương, tự do,
bình an: tức là khao khát Thiên Chúa. Người đã tỏ mình cho người phụ nữ
Samaritanô, một con người Người đã gặp ở giếng Giacóp và đã nói cùng người
phụ nữ này rằng: "Cho tôi uống với" (Gioan 4:7). Những lời này của Chúa
Giêsu, được ngỏ cùng người Samaritanô ấy, là đề tài của Tuần Lễ Hiệp Nhất
năm nay, một tuần lễ được kết thúc vào chính ngày hôm nay đây. Tối hôm nay,
cùng với tín hữu của giáo phận Rôma, và các vị đại diện thuộc các Giáo Hội
khác cùng các cộng đồng giáo hội khác, chúng tôi sẽ gặp nhau ở Đền Thờ Thánh
Phaolô Ngoại Thành để thiết tha cầu nguyện cùng Chúa, để xin Người củng cố
việc dấn thân của chúng ta cho mối hiệp nhất của tất cả mọi tín hữu trong
Chúa Kitô. Thật là một điều gở lạ khi các Kitô hữu chia rẽ. Thế nhưng Chúa
Giêsu muốn chúng ta hiệp nhất nên một. Một thân thể duy nhất! Tội lỗi của
chúng ta, lịch sử của chúng ta đã chia rẽ chúng ta. Vì thế chúng ta cần phải
cầu xin để Thần Linh hiệp nhất chúng ta lại với nhau. </font></p>
<p><font face="Arial">Thiên Chúa, Đấng hóa Thân Mình thành con người, đã có
niềm khao khát của chúng ta, không phải chỉ là một thứ nước, mà trên hết là
niềm khát khao được sống viên trọn, không bị làm nô lệ cho sự dữ và sự chết.
Bằng việc nhập thể của mình, Thiên Chúa đồng thời còn đặt cái khát của Ngài,
vì Thiên Chúa cũng khát, nơi cõi lòng của nhân loại, nơi Giêsu Nazarét. Bởi
thế, nơi con tim của Chúa Kitô, cái khát nhân loại và thần linh gặp nhau. Và
niềm ước vọng muốn được hiệp nhất nên một nơi các môn đệ của Người là những
gì thuộc về cái khát này. Chúng ta thấy nó được bày tỏ nơi các lời nguyện
cầu dâng lên Chúa Cha trước Cuộc Khổ Nạn: "Để họ tất cả được hiệp nhất nên
một" (Gioan 17:21). Tất cả mọi người được hiệp nhất nên một là những gì Chúa
Giêsu mong muốn. Ma quỉ, như chúng ta biết, là cha của chia rẽ. Hắn là tên
luôn gây chia rẽ, luôn gây chiến và gây ra rất nhiều sự dữ. </font></p>
<p><font face="Arial">Chớ gì cơn khát của Chúa Giêsu trở thành cơn khát của
chúng ta mỗi ngày một hơn! Bởi vậy, chúng ta hãy tiếp tục nguyện cầu và
tranh đấu cho mốt hiệp nhất trọn vẹn của các Môn Đệ Chúa Kitô, tin tưởng
rằng Chính Người là Đấng ở bên chúng ta và nâng đỡ chúng ta bằng sức mạnh
Thần Linh của Người để chúng ta có thể vươn tới đích điểm ấy. Và chúng ta ký
thác lời nguyện cầu này của chúng ta cho lời chuyển cầu của Trinh Nữ Maria,
Mẹ của Chúa Kitô và Mẹ của Giáo Hội để Mẹ, như một Người Mẹ nhân ái, có thể
hiệp nhất chúng ta. Amen.</font></td>
