<font face="Arial">Giáo Hội Công Giáo tại Ba Lan đã kêu gọi người Công Giáo
chăm sóc nghĩa trang của người Do Thái, các hội đường, và các tàn tích khác
của người Do Thái trước chiến tranh, cũng như mộ phần của các nạn nhân
Holocaust. Các giám mục Ba Lan đã đưa ra lời mời gọi này nhân kỷ niệm lần
thứ 18 ngày Do Thái giáo tại Ba Lan. Đây là một sáng kiến được cử hành hàng
năm vào ngày 27 tháng Giêng, nhằm thúc đẩy đối thoại cũng như củng cố các
mối quan hệ Công Giáo và Do Thái giáo.</font><p><font face="Arial">"Trách

giềng của chúng ta đã bị sát hại và chôn cất", Đức Cha Mieczysław Cisło, Chủ
tịch Ủy ban đối thoại với Do Thái giáo của Hội đồng Giám mục của Ba Lan về
Đối thoại liên tôn cho biết như trên. Thông báo cũng kêu gọi các linh mục đề
ra những sáng kiến "để tưởng niệm các cộng đồng Do Thái tại những nơi mà họ
đã từng sinh sống”</font></p>
<p><font face="Arial">Các giám mục nói không có ai có thể nhún vai và nói
đây không phải là việc của họ vì thực ra đó là một "nhiệm vụ của lương tâm"
ngõ hầu các hội đường, nghĩa trang của người Do Thái, và các ngôi mộ của
những nạn nhân của Holocaust "không đi vào quên lãng."</font></p>
<p><font face="Arial">Đức Quốc Xã đã giết 90% trong tổng số 3.3 triệu người
Do Thái sinh sống tại Ba Lan trước thế chiến thứ Hai. Ngày nay, cộng đồng Do
Thái tại đây chỉ còn khoảng 7,000 người.</font></td>
