thư đến từng vị trong số 20 Tổng giám mục và giám mục sẽ được nâng lên hàng
Hồng y trong Công nghị Hồng y ngày 14-02 sắp tới tại Vatican. Trong thư này,
Đức Thánh Cha nhắc nhở các vị rằng Hồng y là một ơn gọi để phục vụ và vì thế
cần phải khiêm tốn.</font><p><font face="Arial">Ngài viết: “Sống khiêm tốn
trong khi phục vụ không phải là điều dễ dàng, khi mọi người đều nhìn tước vị
Hồng y như là ‘một phần thưởng hay đỉnh cao của sự nghiệp’, một chức vị cao
trọng đầy quyền lực hay được biệt đãi”. Đức Thánh Cha khuyến khích các ngài
“nỗ lực mỗi ngày tránh xa những loại kính trọng như thế. Và trong nghi lễ
tấn phong hồng y, đưa anh em vào ơn gọi mới, anh em hãy làm như thế với lòng
khiêm nhu và bảo đảm rằng những nghi lễ này không bị tinh thần thế tục tiêm
nhiễm khiến anh em có thể choáng váng hơn cả khi anh em uống rượu mạnh trong
lúc bụng đói, và có thể làm anh em xa rời Thánh giá Chúa Kitô”. </font></p>
