<font face="Arial">Sáng thứ Tư 21/01/2015, Đức hồng y Fernando Filoni, Bộ
trưởng Bộ Loan báo Tin mừng cho các Dân tộc, đã đến thăm giáo phận Hưng Hoá
tại Nhà thờ Hoà Bình. Cùng đi với ngài có Đức Tổng Giám mục Leopoldo Girelli
– Đại diện Toà Thánh tại Việt Nam, Đức hồng y Phêrô Nguyễn Văn Nhơn cùng
toàn thể các Giám mục thuộc giáo tỉnh Hà Nội. Đức cha Antôn Vũ Huy Chương,
nguyên giám mục giáo phận Hưng Hoá (hiện nay là giám mục giáo phận Đà Lạt),
cũng trở về thăm “cố hương”.</font><p><b><font face="Arial">Nghi thức chào
mừng</font></b></p>
<p><font face="Arial">Khi đoàn xe đưa Đức hồng y Filoni đi thăm Hưng Hoá đến
Nhà thờ Hoà Bình lúc 8g30 thì các tín hữu đã ngồi kín ngôi thánh đường rộng
1.200m2 (sức chứa 3.000 chỗ) và đứng tràn ra rất đông bên ngoài quảng trường
rộng 6.500m2, bất chấp gió lạnh và sương mù nơi vùng trung du.</font></p>
<p><font face="Arial">Đức hồng y Bộ trưởng dang rộng hai tay tươi cười chào
các tín hữu. Ngài hôn thánh giá trước cửa nhà thờ, rảy nước thánh trên dân
Chúa, rồi tiến lên cung thánh quỳ cầu nguyện trước Mình Thánh Chúa. Sau đó,
phái đoàn ra ngồi trên lễ đài tại sân Nhà thờ.</font></p>
<p><font face="Arial">Nghi thức chào mừng bắt đầu với diễn từ của Đức cha
Gioan Maria Vũ Tất. Ngài diễn tả niềm vui được đón vị Bộ trưởng Bộ Truyền
giáo, rồi trình bày quá khứ cùng với hiện tình của giáo phận Hưng Hoá. Giáo
phận được thành lập năm 1895 với tên gọi Hạt đại diện Tông toà Thượng Du Bắc
Kỳ (Đoài), rồi đổi tên thành Hưng Hoá vào năm 1924, sau đó trở thành giáo
phận chính toà Hưng Hoá vào năm 1960. Giáo phận này hiện nay trải rộng trên
địa bàn 10 tỉnh (Hà Tây nay thuộc về Hà Nội, Phú Thọ, Hoà Bình, Yên Bái, Lào
Cai, Tuyên Quang, Hà Giang, Sơn La, Lai Châu, Điện Biên), diện tích khoảng
54.500 km2 với 235.000 tín hữu trong 95 giáo xứ và hơn 570 giáo họ, chiếm
3,9% dân số của toàn vùng Tây Bắc Việt Nam. Trải qua nhiều khó khăn nhưng
đến nay, con số linh mục và tu sĩ đã tăng gấp bốn lần. Dù vậy vẫn chưa đủ để
mỗi giáo xứ có một linh mục thường trú nhằm đáp ứng tại chỗ nhu cầu mục vụ
cho giáo dân. Việc đào tạo giáo dân (làm giáo lý viên, cộng tác viên điều
hành giáo xứ, huấn luyện các tín hữu ưu tú nhất là trong hàng ngũ giới trẻ)
do đó, trở thành việc thiết yếu sống còn, để có nhân sự cộng tác đắc lực
trong công cuộc Phúc Âm hoá. Hiện nay, giáo phận Hưng Hoá có 85 linh mục (75
cha triều và 10 cha dòng); 110 đại chủng sinh, 63 tiền chủng sinh, 60 tu
sinh theo đuổi ơn gọi linh mục, 6 nữ tu dòng Thánh Phaolô thành Chartres, 6
nữ tu dòng Con Đức Mẹ Phù hộ, 270 chị em dòng Mến Thánh giá với 45 tập sinh
và 130 đệ tử; 3.030 giáo lý viên. Từ năm 2006, tại ba tỉnh miền núi Sơn La,
Lai Châu, Điện Biên, những hoạt động tôn giáo mới bắt đầu được triển khai
trở lại. Mặc dù cộng đoàn gặp nhiều khó khăn, con số tân tòng ở dân tộc miền
núi vẫn không ngừng gia tăng. Ở những nơi này, chính quyền chưa công nhận
một giáo xứ hoặc giáo họ nào, nhưng kể từ đầu năm 2015, đã có những dấu hiệu
cải thiện trong quan hệ đối thoại với chính quyền dân sự tại ba tỉnh vừa nêu.</font></p>
<p><font face="Arial">Sau phần phát biểu của Đức cha Vũ Tất, cha sở Giuse
Nguyễn Trung Thoại đã giới thiệu về giáo xứ Hoà Bình của mình. Ngay từ năm
1993, Toà Giám mục Hưng Hoá đã cử cha Giuse Nguyễn Trung Thoại đến Hoà Bình
tìm kiếm những giáo dân vẫn âm thầm sống đức tin trong gia đình để quy tụ
thành cộng đoàn. Đến năm 2000, tỉnh Hoà Bình đồng ý cho cha Thoại về thăm
mục vụ giáo dân, và vào ngày 1/11/2002, cha Thoại được phép cử hành Thánh lễ
sau 56 năm vắng bóng Thánh lễ tại đây. Ngày 17/8/2012, Thánh lễ đặt viên đá
đầu tiên của nhà thờ giáo xứ Hoà Bình đã được tổ chức, và vào ngày
21/11/2014, ngôi thánh đường “Kính Lòng Chúa thương xót” của giáo xứ Hoà
Bình đã được thánh hiến. Hiện nay giáo xứ Hoà Bình có 3.500 giáo dân với 11
giáo họ. Có lẽ đây là giáo xứ rộng nhất ở Việt Nam hiện nay, vì trải dài tới
160 km thuộc 5 huyện (Kỳ Sơn, Cao Phong, Tân Lạc, Mai Châu, Đà Bắc) và thành
phố Hoà Bình. Hằng năm có thêm khoảng 400-500 anh chị em tân tòng.</font></p>
<p><font face="Arial">Trong phần đáp từ, Đức hồng y Filoni đã mô tả những
tâm tình tha thiết của Đức giáo hoàng Phanxicô dành cho Việt Nam, và mời gọi
mọi người cầu nguyện để vượt qua những khó khăn.</font></p>
<p><font face="Arial">Tiếp theo là tiết mục văn nghệ chào đón đậm đà màu sắc
dân tộc do các nữ tu Dòng Mến Thánh Giá Hưng Hoá trình diễn.</font></p>
<p><b><font face="Arial">Thánh lễ và các bí tích Khai tâm</font></b></p>
<p><font face="Arial">Thánh lễ vào lúc 10g đã diễn ra bên trong Thánh đường,
được các hồng y, giám mục và rất đông linh mục cử hành thật sốt sắng. Trong
bài giảng lễ, Đức hồng y Bộ trưởng một lần nữa mời gọi mọi tín hữu miệt mài
cầu nguyện và coi Giáo hội như là gia đình thân thương của mình, đồng thời
tích cực loan báo Tin Mừng.</font></p>
<p><font face="Arial">Sau đó là một nghi thức hết sức ấn tượng: các hồng y

Finoli đã chúc mừng các thành viên mới của Giáo hội vừa lãnh nhận các bí
tích khai tâm. Ngài tặng chiếc áo lễ đang mặc cho giáo xứ Hoà Bình, để
“chứng tỏ tôi vẫn hiện diện giữa anh chị em”. Ngài cũng chuyển phép lành của
Đức Thánh Cha cho mọi người để “anh chị em đem về gia đình, và được hạnh
phúc, bình an”.</font></p>
<p><font face="Arial">Thánh lễ kết thúc lúc 11g45. Phái đoàn của Đức hồng y
Filoni đã dùng cơm trưa với các vị khách và các thành viên của các hội đoàn
trong bầu khí thật thân ái trước khi trở về Hà Nội.</font></p>
