<font face="Arial">Manila, 18 tháng Giêng, hàng đoàn người tụ tập tại ĐH
Santo Tomas ở Manila mong được nhìn thấy Đức GH Phanxicô khi ngài tới đây
gặp gỡ giới trẻ Phi Luật Tân.</font><p><font face="Arial">Một số người cắm
trại ở bên ngoài đại học từ 11 giờ đêm hôm 17 tháng Giêng để chiếm chỗ tốt
trong khuôn viên ĐH. Các con phố chung quanh ĐH đã đầy các tín hữu từ lúc 4
giờ sáng.</font></p>
<p><font face="Arial">Các cổng ĐH đã mở cửa từ lúc 4 giờ sáng và dự trù sẽ
đóng lại 3 giờ sau đó. Tuy nhiên, vì số lượng đông đảo tín hữu đã lập tức
tràn đầy 24 mẫu tây quảng trường của khuôn viên ĐH, nên buộc lòng nhân viên
an ninh phải cho đóng cửa trước hạn định.</font></p>
<p><b><font face="Arial">Cuộc gặp gỡ hiếm hoi</font></b></p>
<p><font face="Arial">Những người Phi hy vọng được thoáng thấy Đức GH cũng
kiên nhẫn chờ đợi dọc Đường Lacson. Nhiều người ngồi trên chiếu, trong khi
những người khác chiếm chỗ ở đảo trống giữa đường mong được thấy Đức GH rõ
ràng hơn khi đoàn xe của ngài băng qua.</font></p>
<p><font face="Arial">Giới trẻ Phi sẽ có dịp may hiếm có được Đức Giáo Hoàng
chúc lành trong cuộc gặp gỡ với họ tại ĐH vào lúc 9 giờ 45 phút sáng.</font></p>
<p><font face="Arial">Đức Thánh Cha sẽ vắn tắt gặp gỡ các nhà lãnh đạo tôn
giáo của xứ sở tại Cung Thế Kỷ, sau đó, ngài đi xe mui trần vòng quanh khuôn
viên ĐH. Tiếp đến sẽ là chương trình sinh hoạt tại Đại Khán Đài.</font></p>
<p><font face="Arial">Chương trình sinh hoạt này sẽ bắt đầu với việc suy tôn
Thánh Giá và chứng từ của 3 người trẻ Phi: người trẻ thôi học Jun Chura,
sinh viên luật Leandro Santos II, và nhân viên thiện nguyện bão lụt Rikki
Macolor.</font></p>
<p><font face="Arial">Các tín hữu mong được học hỏi từ các chứng từ của tuổi
trẻ này, vì các chứng từ này tập chú vào trải nghiệm bản thân của họ trong
tư cách con cái Thiên Chúa.</font></p>
<p><font face="Arial">Cuộc gặp gỡ giới trẻ sẽ kết thúc với sinh hoạt sai đi,
trong đó, giới trẻ Phi được thách thức sống Lời Chúa trong đời họ.</font></p>
<p><b><font face="Arial">Thánh lễ kết thúc</font></b></p>
<p><font face="Arial">Cuộc viếng thăm ĐH Santo Tomas của Đức GH Phanxicô
đánh dấu lần thứ tư một vị giáo hoàng tới đây. Đức GH Phaolô VI viếng Trường
năm 1970, Đức GH Gioan Phaolô II (nay là thánh) viếng trường hai lần, năm
1981 và năm 1995.</font></p>
<p><font face="Arial">Đức GH Phanxicô tới Phi chiều thứ Năm, khởi đầu chuyến
viếng thăm nước này năm ngày, từ 15 tới 19 tháng Giêng. Ngài sẽ chủ tọa
thánh lễ kết thúc chuyến viếng thăm của ngài tại Đại Khán Đài Quirino ở
Luneta vào lúc 3 giờ 30 chiều, một thánh lễ hy vọng sẽ lôi cuốn hàng triệu
người Phi tham dự, có thể ngang tầm với đám đông 5 triệu người tham dự thanh
lễ của Thánh Giáo Hoàng Gioan Phaolô II tại cùng địa điểm này năm 1995.</font></p>
<p><b><font face="Arial">Đức Phanxicô yêu cầu giới trẻ cầu nguyện cho các
nạn nhân trận bão Hải Yến</font></b></p>
<p><font face="Arial">Theo tin chính thức của ban tổ chức chuyến viếng thăm
Phi (www.papalvisit.ph) của Đức Phanxicô, sau khi được tin buồn về cái chết
của một thiện nguyện viên trẻ tại Tacloban, nơi ngài cử hành Thánh Lễ hôm
qua, Đức GH Phanxicô đã yêu cầu hàng ngàn người trẻ tụ tập tại khuôn viên ĐH
Santo Tomas cầu nguyện cho nàng.</font></p>
<p><font face="Arial">“Cha muốn tất cả các con cùng cha im lặng cầu nguyện
trong giây lát, và chúng ta sẽ cầu xin với Mẹ trên trời”, ngài nói thế khi
mời các đại biểu của Cuộc Gặp Gỡ với Giới Trẻ cầu nguyện cho sự an nghỉ của
Kristel Padasas, 27 tuổi, thuộc Sở Cứu Trợ Công Giáo, người đã chết trong
một tai nạn kinh hoàng ngay sau Thánh Lễ của Đức Thánh Cha tại Tacloban.</font></p>
<p><font face="Arial">Theo các bài tường thuật, Padasas, người xuất thân từ
Đông Samar, bị thiệt mạng khi một giàn giáo chứa hệ thống âm thanh đổ sụp
lên người nàng.</font></p>
<p><font face="Arial">Theo đài phát thanh Vatican, Đức GH cũng đã gửi điện
chia buồn cùng thân nhân Padasas. Theo đài này, sau Thánh Lễ của Đức GH tại
Tacloban, Padasas cùng nhóm bạn bước qua bàn thờ. Rồi gió mạnh do cơn bão
nhiệt đới “Amang” đem tới đánh sụp giàn đựng âm thanh. Nàng bị thương trúng
đầu làm bể sọ, đem vào nhà thương thì nàng qua đời.</font></p>
<p><b><font face="Arial">Tại sao Đức Phanxicô khiến người ta khóc</font></b></p>
<p><font face="Arial">Ngày 17 tháng Giêng, trong cuộc họp báo thường lệ tại
Diamond Hotel, Manila, Đức HY Tagle cho biết người Phi mọi giới lũ lượt kéo
nhau hàng đoàn tới gặp Đức GH Phanxicô, không ngại chờ đợi lâu giờ dưới nắng,
dưới mưa, dưới cả nguy cơ bão táp, chỉ để mong được thoáng thấy ngài. Và khi
thấy rồi, nước mắt ngắn dài ướt mi, những giọt nước mắt thiêng liêng.</font></p>
<p><font face="Arial">Đức HY cho rằng những người chẩy nước mắt khi thấy Đức
GH hẳn nhiên kinh qua giây phút tâm linh sâu sắc.</font></p>
<p><b><font face="Arial">Thần linh, sâu sắc</font></b></p>
<p><font face="Arial">“Trong truyền thống Kitô Giáo, có điều người ta gọi là
ơn nước mắt”, Đức HY nói thế. Ngài thêm rằng người nào cảm nghiệm được cõi
thần linh và sâu sắc đều nói lên giây phút chẩy nước mắt.</font></p>
<p><font face="Arial">Ngài giải thích thêm: những người thấy và được tận mắt

điều trên đặc biệt đúng đối với các người sống sót trận bão Hải Yến: họ khóc
công khai trong thánh lễ của Đức GH tại phi trường Tacloban. Vì họ cảm thấy
được ủi an chứ không cô đơn.</font></p>
<p><b><font face="Arial">Khóc tận đáy lòng</font></b></p>
<p><font face="Arial">Đức GH Phanxicô từng nói về ơn nước mắt trong Lễ Suy
Tôn Thánh Giá ngày 14 tháng Chín năm 2013.</font></p>
<p><font face="Arial">Ngài nói rằng mầu nhiệm Thánh Giá chỉ có thể hiểu được
“đôi chút nhờ qùy gối, cầu nguyện, nhưng cũng nhờ nước mắt: đó là những giọt
nước mắt đem ta lại gần mầu nhiệm này”.</font></p>
<p><font face="Arial">Đức GH nhấn mạnh: “không khóc, không khóc tận đáy
lòng” ta không bao giờ hiểu được mầu nhiệm Thánh Giá này.</font></p>
<p><font face="Arial">Các vị thánh nổi tiếng được ơn này là các Thánh
Catarina thành Siena, Thánh Inhaxio thành Loyola, và cha năm dấu Pio thành
Pietrelcina, người được chứng kiến tận mắt và quay phim khi đang khóc lúc
truyền phép Thánh Thể.</font></td>
