17 năm thương thảo, Tòa Thánh và Israel vẫn chưa đạt tới hiệp định
về vấn đề quy chế pháp lý các tài sản và vấn đề thuế khóa đối với
các cơ sở Công Giáo tại Israel.<br>
<br>
Hôm 9-12-2010, Ủy ban làm việc song phương giữa Tòa Thánh và Israel
lại nhóm khóa họp toàn thể tại Bộ ngoại giao Israel ”trong bầu không
khí cởi mở và tốt đẹp”.<br>
<br>
Thông cáo chung công bố hôm 10-12-2010 tại Vatican cho biết: Phái
đoàn Tòa Thánh gồm 12 người do Đức Ông thứ trưởng ngoại giao Ettore
Balestrero hướng dẫn, trong khi phái đoàn Israel gồm 11 người do Ông
Danny Ayalon Thứ trưởng ngoại giao làm trưởng đoàn. Đầu khóa họp,
các vị có nhắc đến điện văn của ĐHY Tarcisio Bertone, Quốc vụ khanh
Tòa Thánh, gửi thủ tướng Benyamin Netanyahu của Israel, trong đó ĐHY
chuyển lời cam kết cầu nguyện và tình liên đới của ĐTC Biển Đức 16
với gia đình những người bị thiệt mạng, người bị thương và tất cả
những người bị thương tổn vì vụ cháy rừng mới đây ở miền Bắc Israel,
cũng như sự đánh giá cao của ĐTC về những nỗ lực trong việc cứu giúp
các nạn nhân.<br>

Sau đó, các tham dự viên đã thảo luận về những bước tiến sắp tới để
đạt tới hiệp định. Khóa họp toàn thể tới đây sẽ diễn ra vào ngày
16-6 năm 2011 tại Vatican, trong khi nhóm làm việc sẽ gặp nhau lần
tới đây vào ngày 3-2 năm 2011.<br>

Các khóa họp trên đây nhắm đạt tới một hiệp định về vấn đề thuế khóa
và tài chánh của Giáo hội Công Giáo tại Israel, chiếu theo hiệp định
cơ bản đã ký kết giữa Israel và Tòa Thánh hồi cuối năm 1993. (SD
