Thượng Phụ La Tinh ở Giêrusalem cho biết: Thứ sáu 4.12 vừa qua, một
phái đoàn các nhà hữu trách Kitô Giáo đã đến Haïfa để bày tỏ tình
liên đới của họ đối với dân chúng vừa bị một vụ hoả hoạn lớn vùi
dập. Vụ hoả hoạn đã làm chết 42 người và hàng chục người bị thương,
toàn bộ nhiều làng mạc phải chạy thoát và 4 triệu cây rừng đã biến
thành khói. Nhiều phương tiện cứu hộ đã được gửi đến từ khắp Israel,
Jordani, Thổ Nhĩ Kỳ, Hy Lạp, Pháp, Ý và Hoa Kỳ để giúp khống chế
ngọn lửa.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify; margin-left: 0; margin-right: 0; margin-top: 12px; margin-bottom: 0" class="MsoNormal">
<span style="color: black; font-family: Arial">Phái đoàn gồm có đặc
biệt Giám Mục Elias Shacour, thuộc Giáo Hội Melkite, Đức Cha
Giacinto Boulos Marcuzzo Giáo Hội La Tinh, và Đức Cha Riah Abu al-
Assal, hưu trí Giáo Hội Anh Giáo. Phái đoàn đã được đón tiếp tại
trung tâm công tác cứu hộ. Đức Giám Mục Marcuzzo đã biểu lộ tình
thân thiện của Đức Thánh Cha Bênêđictô XVI và sự liên đới của Đức
Thượng Phụ La Tinh, Đức Cha Fouad Twal.</span></p>
<p style="text-align: justify; margin-left: 0; margin-right: 0; margin-top: 12px; margin-bottom: 0" class="MsoNormal">
<span style="color: black; font-family: Arial">Các Giám Mục đã bày
tỏ “<em>cảm xúc chung của dân Kitô Giáo</em>”, bằng cách nói lời
phân ưu với các gia đình những người tử vong, và bằng việc đề nghị
được tham dự vào việc tái thiết, đặc biệt việc tái trồng rừng, nhờ
giới trẻ và các trường học.</span></p>
