<font size="3" face="Arial">Kính thưa quý vị, các bạn thân mến. Hai
tháng sau cuộc thảm sát tại nhà thờ chính tòa thuộc nghi lễ Syri tại
Bagdad, các tín hữu Kitô Iraq chuẩn bị mừng lễ Giáng Sinh một cách âm
thầm; sự an toàn của họ bị đe dọa hơn bao giờ hết.</font></p>
<p style="margin-left: 0; margin-right: 0; margin-top: 12px; margin-bottom: 0" align="justify">
<font size="3" face="Arial">Ngày 25 tháng 12 năm 2010, họ sẽ cử hành
ngày sinh của một đứa trẻ chào đời cách đây 2 ngàn năm. Ðây là một đứa
trẻ mà không ai muốn có. Em đã thoát cuộc thảm sát cho chính quyền lúc
bấy giờ ra lệnh thực hiện chỉ trong đương tơ kẻ tóc.</font></p>
<p style="margin-left: 0; margin-right: 0; margin-top: 12px; margin-bottom: 0" align="justify">
<font size="3" face="Arial">Nhưng ngày nay, đàng sau bàn thờ, các tín
hữu Công giáo thuộc nghi lễ Syri tại Bagdad sẽ nhìn thấy hình ảnh của
một trẻ thơ khác: đây là trẻ thơ đã bị sát hại trong nhà thờ chính tòa
thuộc nghi lễ Syri tại Bagdad hôm 31 tháng 10 năm 2010. Trẻ thơ này đã
lãnh đủ một loạt đạn của một trong những tên khủng bố chỉ vì em "làm
ồn".</font></p>
<p style="margin-left: 0; margin-right: 0; margin-top: 12px; margin-bottom: 0" align="justify">
<font size="3" face="Arial">Cha Pascal Gollnisch, tổng giám đốc của Hội
Tông Ðồ Ðông phương, người vừa trở về từ Bagdad hôm thứ Tư 22 tháng 12
năm 2010, cho biết: cộng đồng Công giáo nhỏ bé thuộc nghi lễ Syri đang
chuẩn bị mừng lễ Giáng sinh với vết thương của cuộc thảm sát vẫn còn đó.</font></p>
<p style="margin-left: 0; margin-right: 0; margin-top: 12px; margin-bottom: 0" align="justify">
<font size="3" face="Arial">Trong nhà thờ chính tòa Ðức Mẹ hằng cứu giúp
"Al Najat", mọi sự chẳng có gì thay đổi: những chiếc áo dòng của hai vị
linh mục bị sát hại cùng với 44 giáo dân khác vẫn còn được treo trên
tường nhà thờ. Người ta cũng vẫn chưa xóa hết các vết máu của các vị tử
đạo. Hình của các nạn nhân đã được treo trên tường.</font></p>
<p style="margin-left: 0; margin-right: 0; margin-top: 12px; margin-bottom: 0" align="justify">
<font size="3" face="Arial">Ðể cử hành Giáng Sinh, cộng đồng Công giáo
thuộc nghi lễ Syri sẽ trở lại nhà thờ này. Nhưng cha Gollnisch khẳng
định: "họ vẫn còn sợ hãi". Ngoài ra, năm 2010, sẽ không có lễ nửa đêm,
mà chỉ có lễ vào lúc 4 giờ chiều ngày 24 tháng 12 năm 2010. Sở dĩ thánh
lễ được cử hành sớm như thế là để bảo đảm an ninh. Ngoài ra cũng có một
thánh lễ vào ngày 25 tháng 12 năm 2010.</font></p>
<p style="margin-left: 0; margin-right: 0; margin-top: 12px; margin-bottom: 0" align="justify">
<font size="3" face="Arial">Ðức cha Athanase Matti Matouka, Tổng giám
mục thuộc nghi lễ Syri tại Bagdad đau buồn nhắc lại rằng "trước kia
chúng tôi cử hành thánh lễ nửa đêm, sau đó các nhóm bạn trẻ tổ chức lễ
lạc". "Nhưng năm 2010, sẽ không có các cuộc lễ bên ngoài, không có thăm
viếng nhau, không có ăn uống, chẳng có gì cả".</font></p>
<p style="margin-left: 0; margin-right: 0; margin-top: 12px; margin-bottom: 0" align="justify">
<font size="3" face="Arial">Hiện tại, hai khối bê tông cao hơn 3 thước
đã được dựng lên xung quanh nhà thờ. Các binh sĩ đi tuần tiểu. Người ta
thấy bóng dáng của lực lượng an ninh khắp nơi. Các quan ngại về an ninh
của các tín hữu Kitô được Tổ Chức Ân xá quốc tế cũng như của các nước
Tây phương bày tỏ, dường như đã được chính quyền Iraq lắng nghe.</font></p>
<p style="margin-left: 0; margin-right: 0; margin-top: 12px; margin-bottom: 0" align="justify">
<font size="3" face="Arial">Tất cả các cơ sở của Kitô giáo tại thủ đô
Bagdad đã được bao bọc bởi các khối bê tông trong các ngày lễ. Nhưng các
Ðức giám mục đã ra lệnh: sẽ không có thánh lễ nửa đêm, không có những
cuộc thăm viếng nhau vốn kéo dài cả tuần lễ trong những năm trước. Các
cộng đồng Kitô đành phải mừng lễ một cách âm thầm để tỏ dấu để tang cho
các tín hữu đã bị sát hại hôm 31 tháng 10 năm 2010 và trong tháng 11 năm
2010.</font></p>
<p style="margin-left: 0; margin-right: 0; margin-top: 12px; margin-bottom: 0" align="justify">
<font size="3" face="Arial">Tại Kirkuk, miền Bắc Iraq, Ðức cha Louis
Sako, Tổng giám mục thuộc nghi lễ Calde cũng không dám có thái độ liều
lĩnh trong mùa Giáng Sinh năm 2010. Không có thánh lễ đêm. Ngoài ra cũng
không có hội hè vui chơi. Sở dĩ Ðức tổng giám mục Kirkuk phải kêu gọi
cẩn trọng như thế là vì chính ngài và 10 viên chức giáo hội khác trong
thành phố đã bị các phong trào hồi giáo cực đoan đe dọa giết chết. Ngài
nói: "Tôi sợ rằng các tín hữu Kitô sẽ là một điểm nhắm".</font></p>
<p style="margin-left: 0; margin-right: 0; margin-top: 12px; margin-bottom: 0" align="justify">
<font size="3" face="Arial">Tại Mossul, một thành phố nằm ở phía Bắc
Iraq, cũng thế. Chỉ có ba nhà thờ được mở cửa. Nhưng một số tín hữu nói
rằng các nhà thờ này vẫn trống rỗng. Ít có ai dám đến dự lễ của Ðức tổng
giám mục. Nhiều người tiếc nuối các lễ Giáng Sinh trước kia. Petrus, một
tín hữu Kitô 40 tuổi, sống giữa hai thành phố Mossul và Qaraqosh, nhớ
lại những mùa Giáng sinh trước kia, khi các tín hữu còn có thể đi thăm
viếng để chúc mừng Giáng sinh nhau và chia sẻ món ăn Beriani đặc sản của
người dân địa phương.</font></p>
<p style="margin-left: 0; margin-right: 0; margin-top: 12px; margin-bottom: 0" align="justify">
<font size="3" face="Arial">Tại Bartella, một thành phố nằm trong đồng
bằng Niniveh, tình hình xem ra yên tỉnh hơn. Nhưng ai cũng nghĩ đến cuộc
thảm sát xảy ra tại nhà thờ chính tòa Syri ở Bagdad. Các tín hữu Kitô
không còn thấy cảnh phát quà Giáng Sinh sau thánh lễ đêm.</font></p>
<p style="margin-left: 0; margin-right: 0; margin-top: 12px; margin-bottom: 0" align="justify">
<font size="3" face="Arial">Abdahat, 50 tuổi, người đang chuẩn bị một
cuộc thi tuyển để làm giáo sư, đã rời bỏ thủ đô Bagdad hồi năm 2006 để
trở về quê quán của mình là Bedad, trong vùng Kurdistan thuộc Iraq. Ông
Abdahat giải thích rằng ông phải trở về quê quán vì tình hình ở thủ đô
đày nguy hiểm. Ông nói: "tại Bedad, chúng tôi vẫn tiếp tục cử hành Giáng
sinh như trước năm 2003. Nhưng tại Bagdad thì không thể được". Ông nghĩ
đến bạn bè của ông đang sống tại Bagdad: họ không thể ra khỏi ra nhà
trong dịp lễ Giáng Sinh!</font></p>
<p style="margin-left: 0; margin-right: 0; margin-top: 12px; margin-bottom: 0" align="justify">
<font size="3" face="Arial">Tại Shaqlawa, cũng trong đồng bằng Niniveh,
Jawhar, 50 tuổi, cũng sẽ đi tham dự lễ nửa đêm. Ðối với gia đình ông,
tình hình xem ra sáng sủa hơn trước năm 2003. Ông nói: "số người nghèo
giảm đi, vì tiền lương cao hơn".</font></p>
<p style="margin-left: 0; margin-right: 0; margin-top: 12px; margin-bottom: 0" align="justify">
<font size="3" face="Arial">Một sinh viên Công giáo còn nói: tại
Niniveh, người ta có thể theo Kitô giáo mà không gặp vấn đề nào. Người
sinh viên này cũng rời bỏ Bagdad cách đây 4 năm. Tại Shaqlawa, các tín
hữu Kitô được kính trọng. Ai cũng được tự do.</font></p>
<p style="margin-left: 0; margin-right: 0; margin-top: 12px; margin-bottom: 0" align="justify">
<font size="3" face="Arial">Người sinh viên này nói: "Ðiều tôi cầu xin
Chúa trong mùa Giáng Sinh là xin cho xứ sở của tôi được hòa bình". Anh
cũng cầu xin Chúa cho các tín hữu Kitô không còn phải bỏ nước ra đi nữa.</font></td>
