<font face="Arial">Trong thánh lễ Đêm Giáng Sinh 2010, lồng vào trong
những suy niệm về mầu nhiệm Giáng Sinh, Đức Thánh Cha đã đưa ra một lời
cầu nguyện đặc biệt : « <em>Lạy Chúa, xin hãy hoàn thành lời hứa của
Ngài. Xin hãy bẻ gãy ngọn roi của kẻ áp bức. Xin hãy thiêu hủy những gót
giày chiến binh. Xin hãy chấm dứt cái thời áo choàng đẫm máu</em>». Lời
cầu xin này đặc biệt ở chỗ, nếu thông thường người ta thường cầu nguyện,
đặc biệt trong các buổi lễ trang trọng như thế, trước mắt của hàng ngàn
người trên khắp thế giới, rằng xin cho những con người gây ra bất công,
chà đạp nhân phẩm và nhân quyền…biết hạ « vũ khí » xuống, biết ăn năn
sám hối trở về nhìn nhận chân lý…, thì lời cầu nguyện trong thánh lễ Đêm
Giáng Sinh 2010 dường như có điều gì đó đặc biệt hơn : một tiếng kêu
mạnh mẽ thấu trời trước những bách hại và bất công đang hoành hành : Lạy
Chúa, « xin bẻ gãy », « xin hãy thiêu hủy », « xin hãy kết thúc »…những
bất công và bách hại chà đạp phẩm giá con người đó.</font></p>
<p style="text-align: justify; margin-left: 0; margin-right: 0; margin-top: 12px; margin-bottom: 0">
<font face="Arial">Dĩ nhiên, lời kêu xin của Đức Thánh Cha không kêu gọi
bẻ gãy cổ, hay thiêu hủy hay kết liễu kẻ áp bức, nhưng là « bẻ gãy ngọn
roi của kẻ áp bức », « thiêu hủy những gót giày chiến binh », « chấm dứt
cái thời áo choàng đẫm máu ». Những kẻ áp bức này cũng là đối tượng cần
được cứu chuộc.</font></p>
<p style="text-align: justify; margin-left: 0; margin-right: 0; margin-top: 12px; margin-bottom: 0">
<font face="Arial">Đưa ra lời cầu xin mạnh mẽ đó, Đức Thánh Cha mong
muốn Thiên Chúa không chỉ thể hiện « lòng tốt lành » của Ngài, nhưng còn
« biểu dương sức mạnh của Chúa » nữa.</font></p>
<p style="text-align: justify; margin-left: 0; margin-right: 0; margin-top: 12px; margin-bottom: 0">
<font face="Arial">Bởi vì, đối với Đức Thánh Cha, dường như chỉ trông
chờ vào thiện chí (dù cần thiết) của con người mà thôi thì không đủ,
nhưng còn phải cần đến ân sủng của Thiên Chúa nữa. Trong thông điệp
Giáng Sinh 2010 cho thành Rôma và thế giới, Đức Thánh Cha cũng nhấn mạnh
đến sự cần thiết của Nước Thiên Chúa cho việc xây dựng một thế giới công
bằng: “Chúng ta biết Nước của Ngài không thuộc về thế gian này, tuy
nhiên, nó lại quan trọng hơn tất cả các nước trên thế gian này. Nó như
là men của nhân loại; nếu thiếu nó, thì sức mạnh thúc đẩy sự phát triển
chân thực cũng sẽ thiếu đi: đà nhiệt huyết cộng tác vào công ích, vào
việc phục vụ tha nhân một cách vô vị lợi, vào cuộc đấu tranh ôn hòa cho
công lý”. Đối với Đức Thánh Cha, cần phải nhấn mạnh đến cả hai yếu tố tự
do và ân sủng : « <em>Chúng ta không thể chia tách ân sủng và tự do
thành những thực thể biệt lập nhau, cũng không thể chia tách tính hỗ
tương giữa tiếng gọi và sự đáp trả. Hai đàng đan kết chặt chẽ với nhau</em>».</font></p>

<font face="Arial">Tuy nhiên, nếu lâu nay, trong bầu khí Giáng Sinh,
người ta có thói quen kêu gọi sự thành tâm thiện chí của con người xây
dựng một xã hội công bằng, chân lý và tình yêu, thì thế nhưng, như Đức
Thánh Cha buồn rầu công nhận rằng thực tế cho thấy, từ thời Isaia đến
nay, rằng ““<em>ngọn roi của kẻ áp bức</em>” vẫn chưa bị bẻ gãy, “<em>gót
giày lính vẫn còn nện xuống</em>” và vẫn còn đó những “<em>áo choàng đẫm
máu</em>” (Is 9,4 tt). » Chính vì thế mà năm nay, nhất là đứng trước
những đàn áp, bách hại tôn giáo, phẩm giá con người bị chà đạp, những
bất công lan tràn, những tấn công hèn hạ nhắm vào Giáo Hội và các vị
lãnh đạo trong Giáo Hội…, Đức Thánh Cha đã gióng tiếng kêu thấu trời :
« <em>Lạy Chúa, xin hãy hoàn thành lời hứa của Ngài. Xin hãy bẻ gãy ngọn
roi của kẻ áp bức. Xin hãy thiêu hủy những gót giày chiến binh. Xin hãy
chấm dứt cái thời áo choàng đẫm máu</em>». Xin Thiên Chúa <em>« biểu
