vệ các Kitô hữu trong dịp lễ Giáng sinh trước những cuộc tấn công của
những kẻ cực đoan, một kế hoạch xây tường cao 3m chung quanh các
nhà thờ tại hai thành phố
<st1:place w:st="on">Bagdad</st1:place>
và Mossoul vừa được đưa ra. <br>
Nhà cầm quyền tại Irak đã đưa ra kế hoach trên nhằm đối phó với những
mối đe dọa đang gia tăng trên cộng đồng người Kitô giáo, sau một tháng
rưỡi xảy ra cuộc thảm sát tại nhà thờ Chính tòa Công giáo nghi lễ Syri
tại Bagdad, làm thiệt mạng 58 người và gây thương tích cho 70 người.

<p style="text-align: justify; margin-left: 0; margin-right: 0; margin-top: 12px; margin-bottom: 0">
<font face="Arial">Việc xây những bức tường với những cổng ra vào do
cảnh sát kiểm soát, cho phép các tín hữu được vào bên trong nhà thờ, đã
thể hiện quyết tâm của chính quyền qua việc sử dụng mọi phương tiện
có thể có, nhằm tránh tái diễn một cuộc thảm sát như đã xảy ra. </font>
</p>
<p style="text-align: justify; margin-left: 0; margin-right: 0; margin-top: 12px; margin-bottom: 0">
<font face="Arial">Thông thường, lễ Giáng sinh được tổ chức tại các nhà
thờ và công viên, nhưng năm nay các nhà lãnh đạo Giáo Hội đã khuyên giáo
dân hạn chế các lễ hội để tránh mọi rủi ro về an ninh có thể xảy ra.

<p style="text-align: justify; margin-left: 0; margin-right: 0; margin-top: 12px; margin-bottom: 0">
<font face="Arial">Đức cha Bashar Warda, giám mục giáo phận Arbil ở miền
bắc Iraq, xác nhận chính quyền đã nỗ lực để bảo đảm an toàn trên địa bàn
giáo phận của ngài, nhưng một bầu khí lo âu và buồn thảm vẫn đang phủ
lên cuộc sống các tín hữu, mặc dù việc mừng lễ Giáng sinh đã được ấn
định và mọi việc được sắp xếp xong xuôi. </font></p>
<p style="text-align: justify; margin-left: 0; margin-right: 0; margin-top: 12px; margin-bottom: 0">
<font face="Arial">Trong cuộc trả lời phỏng vấn của Hiệp hội quốc
tế Viện trợ khẩn cấp, Đức cha cho biết tình hình gần đến lễ Giáng sinh
của các tín hữu. Ngài nói giáo dân vẫn cảm thấy thất vọng, họ chưa hết
bàng hoàng sau vụ thảm sát xảy ra cho Giáo Hội tại
<st1:place w:st="on">Bagdad</st1:place>. </font></p>

<font face="Arial">Tuần qua, đã có những bình luận xuất hiện sau bản
Thông cáo, cho biết khoảng gần 2000 Kitô hữu tại Mossoul và Bagdad đã
rời bỏ nhà cửa trong những tuần lễ gần đây, để tránh sự đe dọa và bạo
lực vẫn tiếp tục diễn ra. </font>
