Giám Mục David L. Ricken giáo phận Green Bay đã công nhận các lần đức Mẹ
hiện ra với Adele Brise năm 1859, khiến cho các vụ Đức Mẹ hiện ra tại
Champion, một địa điểm cách Green Bay 18 dặm về phía bắc, trở thành lần
đầu tiên tại Hoa Kỳ có sự công nhận chính thức của một Giám mục Giáo
phận.</font></p>
<p style="margin-left: 0; margin-right: 0; margin-top: 12px; margin-bottom: 0">
<font face="Arial">Đức Giám Mục Ricken tuyên bố tại Champion trong thánh
lễ tại Thánh Đường Đức Mẹ Cứu Giúp (Our Lady of Good Help) ngày 8 tháng
12, nhằm ngày lễ Đức Mẹ Vô Nhiễm Nguyên Tội.</font></p>
<p style="margin-left: 0; margin-right: 0; margin-top: 12px; margin-bottom: 0">
<font face="Arial">Trên 250 vị khách đã ngồi chật nhà nguyện để nghe Đức
Giám Mục Ricken đọc sắc lệnh chính thức công nhận tính xác thực của các
lần hiện ra.</font></p>
<p style="margin-left: 0; margin-right: 0; margin-top: 12px; margin-bottom: 0">
<font face="Arial">Ngài cũng công bố một sắc lệnh thứ hai, chính thức
công nhận nhà nguyện là một nhà nguyện của giáo phận. Khi ngài tuyên bố:
“Tôi chính thức tuyên bố là các vụ Đức Mẹ hiện ra rất đáng tin,” toàn
thể cộng đồng vỗ tay hoan hỉ, với nhiều người trong cử tọa cảm động bật
khóc. “Bây giờ, đây là một lời tuyên bố chính thức và một sự công nhận
rõ ràng về những gì đã phát triển và về sự biểu hiệu của đức tin của dân
Chúa vào Chúa Giêsu.”</font></p>
<p style="margin-left: 0; margin-right: 0; margin-top: 12px; margin-bottom: 0">
<font face="Arial">Đức Giám Mục Ricken nói trong bài giảng: “Mẹ Maria
luôn luôn hướng dẫn chúng ta đến với Chúa Giêsu. Chúng ta hết lòng tôn
kính Mẹ vì Mẹ là Mẹ của Chúa Giêsu Kitô, Đấng Cứu Thế. Do đó có lẽ Mẹ là
nhà truyền giáo và thầy giảng giáo lý cao cả nhất chưa từng có cho tới
nay trong lịch sử…Mẹ đã được sai đi trong bao nhiêu năm qua kể từ ngày
Chúa Kitô tử nạn, và phục sinh để công bố tin mừng này.”</font></p>

<font face="Arial">Đức Giám Mục Ricken nói: sự công bố này là ước nguyện
của rất nhiều người. “Có biết bao nhiêu người trong quý vị đã xin cho có
được điều này bằng cách này hay cách khác. Tôi coi đây cũng chỉ là một
lời tuyên bố giản dị về những gì đã được nói về những chuyện đã xẩy ra.”
