Đúng là một cuộc tử đạo trọn vẹn như lời thánh
Bênađô đã nói: “Sự đau đớn đã đâm thâu tâm hồn Mẹ,
khiến chúng con có thể nói một cách thích đáng
rằng: Mẹ còn hơn người tử đạo, vì nơi Mẹ, niềm
thông cảm đau khổ của Con, khiến Mẹ đau đớn hơn cả
sự đau đớn trên thân xác”.</span><br style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 12pt; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; letter-spacing: normal; line-height: normal; orphans: auto; text-align: start; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; widows: 1; word-spacing: 0px; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px">

Như vậy Đức Mẹ Maria đã bắt đầu cuộc lữ hành đức tin bằng
những lời xin vâng: “Tôi là nữ tỳ Chúa. Tôi xin vâng như lời
thiên thần truyền” (Lc 1,38) và những lời vui tươi hăng hái
của người mẹ trẻ: “Linh hồn tôi ngợi khen Đức Chúa... Vì Đức
Chúa đã nhìn đến phận hèn tôi tớ Đức Chúa...” (Lc 1, 46-55).
Lời xin vâng ấy vẫn trọn vẹn, vẫn một niềm son sắt khi thông
hiệp và cùng liên đới trong sự đau thương cùng cực của Chúa
Giêsu. Sự làm một với Con trong nỗi đau thánh giá ấy, được
Tin Mừng Gioan khắc họa thành hình tượng vô cùng đẹp trong
vẻ đẹp bi hùng: “Đứng gần thập giá Đức Giêsu, có thân mẫu

Công đồng Vatican II nhìn thấy cuộc khổ nạn của Chúa Giêsu
và sự thông hiệp toàn vẹn của Đức Mẹ, là biểu lộ sự hoàn tất
thánh ý cứu độ của Thiên Chúa: “Đức Trinh Nữ đã vững tiến
trong cuộc lữ hành đức tin, và trung thành hợp nhất với Con
Mẹ cho tới khi đứng dưới chân thập tự giá, theo đúng chương

Ngày lễ Đức Mẹ Sầu Bi theo ngay sau lễ Suy Tôn Thánh Giá, là
cách Hội Thánh dạy chúng ta: Lòng sùng kính Đức Mẹ của chúng
ta phải được hướng về Chúa Kitô. Chúa Kitô chính là trung
tâm, là đối tượng của việc thờ phượng, của lòng sùng kính mà
chúng ta cần dâng lên Người trọn đời mình.</span><br style="color: rgb(0, 0, 0); font-size: 12pt; font-style: normal; font-variant: normal; font-weight: normal; letter-spacing: normal; line-height: normal; orphans: auto; text-align: start; text-indent: 0px; text-transform: none; white-space: normal; widows: 1; word-spacing: 0px; -webkit-text-stroke-width: 0px">

Mừng lễ Đức Mẹ đồng thụ nạn với Đức Chúa Kitô khổ nạn, chúng
ta noi gương Đức Mẹ, kết hợp cuộc đời khổ đau của chúng ta
với cuộc đời tử nạn của Đức Chúa Kitô, Nhờ thế, chúng ta tin
tưởng sẽ cùng được hưởng phúc trường sinh vinh hiển với Đức
Chúa như Đức Mẹ. Đó chính là hy vọng mà Hội Thánh hằng mong
ước và khẩn nguyện: “Khi chúng con kính nhớ tình yêu đau khổ
của Đức Trinh Nữ Maria, xin cho chúng con biết dùng đời sống
mình để bù đắp những gì còn đang thiếu sót trong những đau
khổ của Đức Chúa Kitô để mưu ích cho Hội Thánh” (Lời nguyện
