Thánh lễ là sự sống</span></p>

Lời Chúa chỉ là một lời đề nghị linh thiêng đối với đức tin của chúng ta.
<span class="GramE">Thiên Chúa nói trong tâm hồn chúng ta nhưng Ngài không
đòi buộc chúng ta phải đón nhận.</span> Mỗi Chúa nhật, cũng giống như ngày
ta lãnh phép rửa, là một lần đức tin của chúng ta được thúc đẩy, chứ không
phải bị cưỡng bách. Cái chúng ta gọi là "Kinh Tin Kính", thực ra chỉ là lời
đáp trả tự do của chúng ta đối với sứ điệp được nghe trong các bài đọc Sách
Thánh trước bài giảng. <span class="GramE">Đó là lời xin vâng của chúng ta
đối với Thiên Chúa, là tiếng thưa "Amen" của chúng ta đối sứ điệp tình yêu
của Ngài.</span></span></p>

Lời đáp này trước hết có tính cách cá nhân, vì không ai có thể tin thay cho
chúng ta. <span class="GramE">Nhưng nó cũng có tính cách cộng đoàn.</span>
Chúng ta không phải là những người đầu tiên, cũng không phải là những người
duy nhất, tin vào các mầu nhiệm được mặc khải trong Kinh Thánh. Vì thế, để
tuyên xưng niềm tin; Giáo Hội mời gọi chúng ta sử dụng những công thức cổ
xưa: gồm công thức của các tông đồ - được đọc từ thế kỷ thứ hai, hay công
thức của Công đồng Nicée-Constantinople - được sử dụng từ thế kỷ thứ bốn.
<span class="GramE">Dù ngôn ngữ có vẻ xa lạ với chúng ta, những công thức
này đưa chúng ta đi vào hiệp thông với các Kitô hữu của tất cả các thế kỷ
trước, những người đôi khi phải chịu hy sinh mạng sống vì lòng trung thành
với chính Tin Mừng này.</span> Đến hôm nay, chúng cũng cho chúng ta tuyên
xưng cùng một đức tin duy nhất trên toàn thế giới.</span></p>
