Thiên Chúa, chủ thể của lịch sử</span></p>

Thiên Chúa là chủ thể của lịch sử, cũng như Ngài là chủ thể của thế giới vật
lý.</span></span><span style="font-size:12.0pt;font-family:"Arial","sans-serif"">
Ngài đã sáng tạo thời gian, Ngài có một dự tính, một kế hoạch cho con người
vốn sẽ được thể hiện trong thời gian. Chính ý tưởng Kinh Thánh về một kế
hoạch của Thiên Chúa trên nhân loại này, mà hôm nay chúng ta có thể đặt ra
câu hỏi: phải chăng lịch sử cũng có một ý nghĩa nào đó? <span class="GramE">
Chúng ta chỉ có thể gán cho lịch sử một ý nghĩa nào đó, nếu cuộc sống của
chính chúng ta cũng có ý nghĩa.</span> Trên bình diện cá nhân cững như tập
thể, chúng ta chỉ có thể cho lịch sử của chính chúng ta cũng như cho lịch sử
của thế giới một ý nghĩa, nếu chúng ta biết sử dụng tự do của mình.
<span class="GramE">Hoặc chúng ta quay lại với Thiên Chúa, hoặc chúng ta lui
về với chính mình.</span> Hoặc sự hiện hữu của chúng ta được mở ra cho sự
sống Thiên Chúa ban tặng, hoặc nó chỉ dừng lại ở những giới hạn trần thế.
<span class="GramE">Mặc khải Kinh Thánh cho chúng ta biết cách thức mà Thiên
Chúa muốn cho chúng ta tham dự vào chương trình cứu độ của Ngài.</span>
Chúng ta biết rằng Thiên Chúa không bao giờ cưỡng bách tự do của con người.
Ngài không đến thống trị <span class="GramE">theo</span> cách của những ông
hoàng vĩ đại trên thế giới này. <span class="GramE">Ngài không đến phá đổ
cánh cửa tâm hồn chúng ta.</span> Ngài ngỏ lời với chúng ta khi nói rằng:
"Hãy khám phá ý nghĩa đời con qua việc đón nhận Chúa Kitô, Lời hằng sống,
Đấng sẽ dẫn dắt sự sống của con và của thế giới đến điểm tận cùng."</span></p>
