Thánh Luca thường thuật lại việc Chúa Giêsu cầu nguyện, trước hoặc sau những
biến cố lớn trong cuộc đời Ngài.</span></span><span style="font-size:12.0pt;
font-family:"Arial","sans-serif""> Tin Mừng hôm nay nói rất
cụ thể: "Người thức suốt đêm cầu nguyện cùng Thiên Chúa."
<span class="GramE">Tức là Người hướng lòng về Thiên Chúa, không chỉ để thưa
chuyện với Ngài nhưng còn để lắng nghe Ngài.</span> <span class="GramE">Cầu
nguyện thật sự bao gồm cả việc nói và lắng nghe.Chúa Giêsu cầu nguyện trên
núi là nơi thích hợp nhất để gặp gỡ Thiên Chúa.</span></span></p>

Sau thời gian gặp gỡ Chúa Cha, "khi trời vừa sáng", Ngài trở xuống để đối
thoại với con người. Cuộc đối thoại này là một lời mời gọi...</span></p>

Mỗi con người đều là duy nhất trước mặt Thiên Chúa. <span class="GramE">Đức
Giêsu không gọi một nhóm mười hai người vô danh, nhưng Ngài gọi mười hai
người có tên cụ thể.</span> Thậm chí Ngài còn đổi tên cho người môn đệ đầu
tiên: "Đó là ông Simon mà Người gọi là Phêrô." Họ được gọi không phải để
lãnh nhận một đặc <span class="GramE">ân</span> nào, như đôi khi họ vẫn
nghĩ, nhưng là để được "sai đi"... <span class="GramE">Trong số những người
được gọi còn có Giuđa, kẻ sẽ phản bội Chúa Giêsu và Phêrô, người sẽ chối
Ngài.</span> Bất cứ ai cũng được kêu gọi và sai đi làm chứng đều được hứa
cho thừa hưởng tình yêu của Thiên Chúa, Đấng đã yêu thương họ, mặc dù họ vẫn
còn những giới hạn và yêu đuối.</span></p>
