Cuộc phiêu lưu nội tâm</span></p>

Từ lúc bắt đầu, cũng như trong suốt cuộc phiêu lưu, cầu nguyện luôn cần
thiết để mở rộng con <span class="GramE">tim</span>. <span class="GramE">Là
hiện diện với Thiên Chúa và với chính mình.</span> Cầu nguyện không phải là
một sự trốn tránh, một cuộc tháo chạy: cầu nguyện đặt tôi vào tâm điểm của
thế giới, tâm điểm của mọi sự, và vào cung lòng của Thiên Chúa. Cầu nguyện
không phải là chiêm ngắm các trạng thái nội tâm của tôi, nhưng giúp tôi tìm
đến nơi sâu thẳm trong tâm hồn mình, nơi Thiên Chúa cư ngụ và là nơi Thiên
Chúa tương giao với tôi, nơi Thánh Thần Chúa thì thầm với tôi "hãy đến cùng
Cha". Đó cũng là nơi Lời của Đức Kitô được gởi đến cho tôi, nơi tôi nghe
tiếng nói với tôi rằng: "Hãy đi gặp gỡ anh em của Thầy và cũng là anh em của
con." <span class="GramE">Việc cầu nguyện đặt tôi vào hoạt động của sự sống
Ba Ngôi, sự vận động kéo tôi ra và đưa tôi vào.</span> Cầu nguyện cất lên
trong lòng tôi một lời đáp trả, như lời đáp cho Môsê từ bụi gai cháy bừng
bừng: "Ta đây."</span></p>

Tôi cầu nguyện với những gì tôi là, với điều tôi sống, những khổ đau, vất
vả, niềm vui hay lo lắng về những bổn phận và trách nhiệm hằng ngày; tôi cầu
nguyện như tôi vốn là, như Thiên Chúa biết tôi, một con người khốn khổ và
đầy tràn <span class="GramE">ân</span> sủng. Tôi để Ngài đến với nơi Ngài
không ngừng sáng tạo và tái tạo tôi, nơi Ngài yêu thương tôi và nói với tôi
như Ngài đã nói với Phêrô: "Con có mến Thầy không?" Khi tôi cầu nguyện trong
sự thật là tôi đang ở tại trung tâm của hữu thể tôi, tuy nhiên tôi cũng bị
kéo ra khỏi trung tâm con người mình, để chú tâm vào một Đấng khác, vào sự
<span class="GramE">an</span> bài của Ngài.</span></p>
