<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify"><b>Tội thiếu sót</b></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify">Đoạn Tin Mừng theo thánh
Luca không hề nói người giàu có chủ tâm xấu đối với người ăn xin tên Lazarô.
Đơn giản là ông không hề nhìn đến anh... Và sự mù quáng này khiến cho ông
không được ở giữa những người được cứu chuộc, ở "bên cạnh Ápraham".</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify">Do đó, ông mắc tội thiếu sót
vì không quan tâm đến Lazarô. Được đẩy lên tới cực điểm, những đoạn văn này
khiến cho tất cả chúng ta mãi mãi phạm tội. Làm thế nào để vượt qua tội
thiếu xót này? Chúng ta không những cần phải quan tâm đến những người thân
cận, mà còn phải biết nhìn đến những cảnh đời bất hạnh của nhân loại. Những
quốc gia giàu và đầy đủ có quan tâm đến những dân tộc còn nghèo đói hay
chưa?</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify">Tuy nhiên, chúng ta không bị
buộc phải lo lắng. Đạo đức tối thiểu của Kitô giáo dạy chúng ta việc phạm
tội thiếu sót bao gồm tránh né điều nên làm. Ví dụ: né tránh không dám bảo
vệ người bị công kích cách bất công; đó còn là những cảnh đau khổ chúng ta
gặp trên đường mà chúng ta phải giúp đỡ, ủi an nếu có khả năng. Liệu chúng
ta có nghĩ đến việc "hỗ trợ một người đang gặp nguy hiểm".</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align:justify">Nhưng điều gì kích thích
lương tâm chúng ta về nguy cơ mắc tội thiếu sót! Nếu chúng ta không cần phải
lo lắng, thì chí ít chúng ta hãy là "những người tỉnh thức"...</p>
