<span lang="VI" style="font-family:"Arial",sans-serif">Sự ra
đời của người tiền hô, người đi trước mở đường cho Đức Kitô, đã cho thấy
sự giống nhau với sự ra đời của Thiên Chúa, Đấng Cứu độ chúng ta. Nếu
như Chúa được sinh ra bởi một trinh nữ, thì Gioan được hoài thai trong
dạ một người phụ nữ hiếm hoi: người này là con của một người nữ đồng
trinh không vướng tội lỗi, còn người kia được sinh ra bởi một người nữ
luống tuổi, tuyệt tự. Sự ra đời của Gioan cũng mang một khía cạnh vẻ
vang và kỳ diệu. Mặc dù việc sinh con của một phụ nữ là hiện tượng phổ
biến nơi một phụ nữ hơn là nơi một trinh nữ, nhưng chúng ta cũng không
kém thán phục khi thấy bà Êlidabét mang thai lúc tuổi đã cao, tương tự
như trường hợp Mẹ Maria mang thai khi còn là trinh nữ.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top:12.0pt;text-align:justify">

thiết tưởng, điều đó là một biểu tượng: Gioan tượng trưng cho Giao ước
cũ..., còn Chúa Giêsu, Đấng loan báo Tin mừng Nước Trời là hoa trái của
tuổi trẻ đầy nhựa sống... Chúng ta còn phải thán phục Tổng lãnh thiên
thần Gáprien loan báo cả hai sự chào đời: thiên sứ đem an ủi đến cho ông
Dacaria, vẫn mang lòng hoài nghi và đến động viên Đức Maria, người hết
lòng tin lời sứ thần. Ông Dacaria vì nghi ngờ nên bị mất giọng nói, còn
Đức Maria, nhờ tin ngay lập tức nên đã mang thai Ngôi Lời Cứu chuộc.</span></p>
