mà Chúa Giêsu nói đến lần này cũng liên quan đến cầu
nguyện, cách sống và cách đối xử với những người khác.
Trong khi tuần trước Ngài đưa ra một mẫu người kiên trì
và lỳ lợm khi cầu nguyện, qua dụ ngôn lần này (Luca
18:9-14), Chúa lại đưa ra một lối nhìn khác về cầu
nguyện: cầu nguyện với lòng khiêm nhường khi so sánh một
ông Pharisiêu và một người thu thuế. Cả hai đều cầu
nguyện, nhưng kết quả rất khác nhau mà yếu tố chính là
sự khiêm nhượng. </span></font></p>

là thái độ khi cầu nguyện của người Pharisiêu. Những
người này luôn tự cho mình là đạo đức, tốt lành, chăm
chỉ giữ nghiêm ngặt các lề luật. Còn người thu thuế đại
diện cho những tâm hồn đơn sơ, nghèo nàn, mang hơi hướm
tội lỗi, bê bối, khô khan và nguội lạnh. Tuy vậy, mà
trong kết luận câu truyện, Chúa Giêsu lại bảo, người thu
thuế về nhà được tha, được khỏi tội, được sạch, còn ông
Pharisiêu thì không. Tại sao? Hai người này cùng lên đền
thờ, cùng cầu nguyện mà một người khiến Thiên Chúa hài
lòng, còn người kia thì không, mà người được Chúa hài
lòng ấy lại là người thu thuế tội lỗi.</span></font></p>

bắt đầu bằng hai khía cạnh về dụ ngôn: 1) Tự cho mình là
công chính, và 2) coi người khác là tội lỗi. Đối với cái
nhìn và suy nghĩ của một người Pharisiêu thì không chỉ
có người thu thế sau ông mới là những thứ tội lỗi, xấu
xa, mà ngay cả Chúa Giêsu cũng không gì hơn. Người cũng
bị bọn họ xoi mói, chê bai, và coi thường: “Thầy các anh
ăn uống cùng bọn phần thu và tội lỗi….” (Mt 9:11; Mk
2:16)</span></font></p>

dụ ngôn hai người cầu nguyện, bắt đầu là cả hai cùng lên
đền thờ để cầu nguyện. Nhìn thấy hình ảnh này, thoạt
nghĩ hai người họ đều sẽ nhận lãnh những kết quả tốt,
những phúc lành của Thiên Chúa, vì Thiên Chúa ưa thích
việc cầu nguyện, và tỏ lòng xót thương những ai đến kêu
cầu Ngài. Nhưng khi vừa mở đầu, thái độ của người
Pharisiêu và người thu thuế đã khác nhau. Từ thái độ này
dẫn đến những ý thức khi cầu nguyện khác nhau và kết quả
cũng khác nhau.</span></font></p>

Pharisiêu với thái độ đứng thẳng người như họ vẫn thường
làm mỗi khi họ cầu nguyện ở trong đền thờ cũng như ngoài
phố chợ. Và họ tự cho mình thuộc thành phần công chính,
những người tuân thủ cặn kẽ lề luật Maisen. Họ rất coi
thường, khinh bỉ những người thu thuế mà họ cho là tội
lỗi (Luca 5:30). Chúng ta thấy ở những phần tiếp theo
của Phúc Âm, Simon cũng là Pharisiêu đã coi thường người
phụ nữ rửa chân và lau chân Chúa. (Luca 7:36-39).</span></font></p>

lúc, người thu thuế với tâm tình một người tự nhận mình
tội lỗi, không xứng đáng ngửa mặt nhìn lên Thiên Chúa,
và dĩ nhiên, cũng không nhìn sang người khác để phê
phán, nhòm ngó. Ông tự nhìn mình, đấm ngực mình và chỉ
thưa được một câu mà câu ấy thật với lòng mình, và cũng
là câu mà Thiên Chúa muốn nghe từ những tội nhân: “Lạy
Chúa, xin thương xót con, vì con là kẻ có tội.” (Luca
18:13)</span></font></p>

người thu thế, trong toàn bộ Phúc Âm của Luca, tượng
trưng cho thành phần tội lỗi. Hình ảnh xấu xa, tầm
thường, thấp cổ bé miệng, buôn thúng bán mẹt, lao động
tay chân và trí não, những kẻ bị xã hội ruồng bỏ, chê
bai và khinh thường. Nhưng phải chăng họ không phải là
đối tượng của Tin Mừng, đối tượng của ơn cứu độ? Họ
chính là những con chiên lạc mà người chăn chiên sẵn
sàng bỏ lại 99 con trong đàn để đi tìm cho được. Và khi
tìm được thì vác trên vai đem về mở tiệc ăn mừng. Sự trở
về của họ còn khiến cả thiên đàng vui mừng: “Vậy, tôi
nói cho các ông hay: trên trời cũng thế, ai nấy sẽ vui
mừng vì một người tội lỗi ăn năn sám hối, hơn là vì chín
mươi chín người công chính không cần phải sám hối ăn
năn.” (Luca 15:7)</span></font></p>

Pharisiêu kia không nhìn xuống người thu thuế bằng ánh
mắt kiêu căng, bằng ý nghĩ tự phụ coi mình hơn người, để
rồi có lời phê bình, và thái độ chê bai người thu thuế,
ông chắc chắn sẽ trọn lành hơn người thu thuế, vì ông đã
tuân giữ mọi giới răn và luật lệ một cách hết sức tỷ mỷ.
Chẳng những thế mà ông lại còn không “tham lam, gian
dối, ngoại tình…”</span></font></p>

qua thái độ của người Pharisiêu cũng dạy chúng ta một
điều, nếu ông ta đã chi tiết, tỷ mỷ và tuân thủ các luật
Maisen, thì chúng ta cũng phải cố gắng hết sức mình
trong đời sống tâm linh, trong cách sống, và trong cách
cư xử với người khác. Không được ỷ lại, và tự nghĩ mình
không cần phải sửa sai gì. Điều này cũng nhắc nhở chúng
ta về những việc mình phải chu toàn, và những gì tốt đẹp
nhất mình có thể làm thì không được bỏ qua.</span></font></p>

và được chữa lành, được rửa sạch, được tha thứ, được
công chính. Đó là những gì Chúa Giêsu cũng sẽ nói với
chúng ta, những người biết nhận mình là tội nhân, khuyết
điểm mỗi khi đến với Ngài trong tòa cáo giải, mỗi khi
đấm ngực tự nhận trong Kinh Cáo Mình: “Tôi thú nhận cùng
Thiên Chúa toàn năng và cùng anh chị em. Tôi đã phạm tội
nhiều trong tư tưởng, lời nói, việc làm và những điều
thiếu sót,” trong khi tham dự Thánh Lễ, và mỗi tối xét
mình trước khi đi ngủ.</span></font></p>
