một thời gian khó khăn – và đối với một số trong chúng ta, những
khó khăn vẫn còn tồn tại. Hàng ngày truyền thông tràn ngập tin
tức mới nhưng vẫn không có gì thay đổi. Tuy nhiên, những điều
này lại như một lời mời gọi chúng ta đến gần Chúa hơn, và nhấn
chìm đời chúng ta trong kinh nguyện. Ngài là “Đá tảng” (Isaiah
26:4) – niềm hy vọng của chúng ta, sự an toàn duy nhất của chúng
ta. Để khỏi bị nghi ngờ và thất vọng, chúng ta cần phải tái khám
phá hoặc tiến sâu vào mối quan hệ này. Ngài là đấng qua mọi gian
nan, khốn khó đã tỏ ra gần gũi hơn với chúng ta. Ngài là đấng
duy nhất yêu thương chúng ta bằng tình yêu vô tận, nâng đỡ, và

nhu cầu to lớn là đặt mình một cách thường xuyên dưới cái nhìn
của Thiên Chúa, để đón nhận sự hiện diện nhân từ của Ngài, để
nuôi dưỡng chính chúng ta bằng tình yêu và Lời của Ngài. Điều
này dẫn chúng ta tiến gần với sự bình an của Thiên Chúa, trong
“đại dương bình yên là Ba Ngôi Chí Thánh” ở đó chúng ta sẽ tìm
được tất cả những gì chúng ta cần để đối diện với mọi tình huống
bằng đức tin và sự tín thác như lời Thánh Catherine thành Siena.
Và cũng như Thánh Gioan Phaolô II trong Tông Huấn <i>Novo
Millenio Ineunte</i> đã viết Kitô hữu không cầu nguyện, là “Kitô
hữu trong tình trạng nguy hiểm” (34).</span></p>

đối với lời cầu nguyên của chúng ta trong đời sống. Đầu tiên
liên quan đến toàn cuộc sống của chúng ta, khi có thể, như một
cuộc đàm đạo với Thiên Chúa. Đời sống thường ngày trong mọi cách
thức đơn sơ cũng như quen thuộc, chúng ta phải thường xuyên
hướng tâm hồn và tư tưởng về Ngài, tin rằng Ngài luôn luôn theo
dõi chúng ta với tình yêu thương. Tất cả mọi chi tiết trong đời
sống của chúng ta, cần được nuôi dưỡng bằng cuộc trò truyện này:
những gì tốt đẹp, chúng ta dâng lời tạ ơn, những gì khó khăn,
chúng ta kêu cầu Ngài thương xót, và ngay cả những khi sa ngã,
chúng ta không quên xin Ngài tha thứ! Như thế, sẽ khuyến khích
chúng ta. Trong mọi sự, tốt cũng như xấu, có thể trở nên một cơ
hội để trò truyện với Thiên Chúa, và đem chúng ta gần lại với
Ngài như đứa con thơ luôn gần gũi với cha mình.</span></p>

thường xuyên dành giờ rảnh rỗi đến với Thiên Chúa – tách mình ra
khỏi những ràng buộc của thường ngày để đặt mình trước nhan
Ngài. Chúng ta có thể bắt đầu bằng việc dành ra 15 phút mỗi
ngày, và dần dà có thể tăng thêm thí dụ một giờ chẳng hạn trước
Chúa Giêsu Thánh Thể trong nhà nguyện. Những giây phút như vậy,
Thiên Chúa sẽ tuôn đổ hồng ân Ngài trên chúng ta. Ngài có thể
tăng thêm sức mạnh, và hy vọng. Trước nhan Ngài, tâm hồn chúng
ta được thay đổi.</span></p>

tăng đức tin trong việc cầu nguyện, chúng ta sẽ gặp những ngăn
trở. Chúng ta có thể từ chối mở lòng mình ra đối với Thiên Chúa.
Chúng ta có thể sợ rằng nếu chăm chỉ cầu nguyện, thì Thiên Chúa
sẽ thử thách và dẫn chúng ta đi vào con đường khiến chúng ta
không thể kiểm soát được cuộc đời chúng ta. Chúng ta sẽ bị cám
dỗ để sợ hãi hoặc mất can đảm, hoặc chúng ta có thể cảm thấy
cuộc đời mình bị thua thiệt. Ma quỉ sẽ tìm mọi cách để cản trở
chúng ta cầu nguyện, bởi vì chúng biết rằng một linh hồn cầu
nguyện sẽ vượt khỏi tay của chúng. Chúng ta cũng có thể bị thiếu
hiểu biết từ những thông tin về thế giới văn minh, hoặc sợ hãi
bởi sự cô đơn và thầm lặng. Chúng ta cảm thấy dễ dàng để lướt
trên iphone hơn là dành một sự yên lặng trước mặt Thiên Chúa!</span></p>

là ý niệm sai lầm về cầu nguyện. Điều này xảy ra rất thường
xuyên. Để đem lại hoa trái, đem lại sự bình an, tăng thêm sức

phải là việc làm trình diễn, nhưng là mời Thiên Chúa đến với sự
nghèo nàn, với sự bất lực của chúng ta. Nó không phải là thành
quả, nhưng là được ở với Thiên Chúa. Ngài không cần những gì
chúng ta làm, nhưng Ngài khao khát tình yêu của chúng ta như lời
Thánh Thérése thành Lisieux.</span></p>

chúng ta cảm thấy nghèo nàn, thiếu hấp dẫn, mất nghị lực, mỏng
dòn, và bất toàn, nhưng đó không phải là vấn đề. Ngược lại,
những yếu hèn của chúng ta khiến lời cầu nguyện của chúng ta
không đạt thành quả đẹp đẽ khiến chúng ta có thể tự hào, nhưng
lại là một tiếng kêu của người nghèo “Kẻ nghèo khó kêu cứu và
Chúa đã nghe” (Thánh Vịnh 34:7). Và đó là cách duy nhất lời cầu
xin xuyên thấu các tầng trời. Điều xem như trái ngược lại là lời
cầu của những kẻ nghèo khó, là những lời cầu đem đến vui mừng:
sự vui mừng cảm nhận từ tình yêu Thiên Chúa. Nó lớn mạnh hơn tất
cả giới hạn của con người</span></p>

nhưng nó không cần thiết. Vì lời cầu nguyện thực sự khiến chúng
ta đụng chạm đến Thiên Chúa, và để Ngài đụng chạm đến chúng ta
mà không cần những dấu lạ, hoặc sự an ủi. Nó chỉ cần niềm tin và
bền bỉ, một hành động chân thành và tin tưởng, và diễn tả niềm

chắn cần lời cầu của chúng ta. Nó cần được Thiên Chúa thăm viếng
và động chạm tới bằng lòng thương xót của Ngài. Chỉ trong mối
tương quan với Ngài thế giới mới được đổi mới và cứu rỗi. Những
giải quyết chính trị và xã hội như những phương thuốc của con
người, đều bất toàn. Chúng ta cần giống như những quân canh được
nói tới bởi tiên tri Isaiah, những người được Thiên Chúa đặt
trên tường thành của Giêrusalem: “Đêm hay ngày họ sẽ chẳng bao
giờ im lặng”, họ có phận sự nhắc nhở Đức Chúa về những gì Ngài
đã hứa. (62:6). Họ sẽ không để Thiên Chúa nghỉ ngơi cho đến khi
Ngài ban ơn cứu độ cho thành thánh! Hoặc giống như người thiếu
phụ trong Phúc Âm trước quan tòa bất công, chúng ta không được
để Chúa một mình cho đến khi Ngài ban cho chúng ta sự công

chúng ta đối với thế giới thường xuyên phải rõ ràng, nhưng nó
cũng có thể là những điều cầu xin ám chỉ. Trong lời cầu nguyện
của Thánh Thérése Lisieux đã lưu ý chúng ta rằng không cần thiết
phải nhắc đến tất cả mọi điều mình xin. Một đôi khi chỉ cần
thinh lặng trước nhan Chúa, để cho mình được nhận chìm trong
Ngài, nhờ đó mà phần lớn các linh hồn sẽ theo chân chúng ta bắt
đầu chạy lại với Ngài. Đó cũng là lý do thánh nữ giải thích ý
nghĩa tại sao qua câu trong Diễm Tình Ca: “Hãy kéo em theo anh,
đôi ta cùng mau bước” (1:4). Một cách đơn giản, trong thinh lặng
trước nhà tạm, ở đó với Chúa và cho một mình Chúa, cho vinh
quang Ngài và không còn gì hơn, giống như cây nến cháy trong
thinh lặng, sẽ thu hút nhiều linh hồn về với Thiên Chúa.</span></p>

Phaolô trong thư gửi tín hữu Roma, đã cho thấy những dấu hiệu và
những lời than thở trong sự chờ mong của ngày giải thoát nó
(8:22-23). Thế giới đang trải qua những cơn đau đớn như người mẹ
lúc sinh con, chuẩn bị cho ngày xuất hiện của trời mới đất mới.
Điều đòi hỏi chúng ta trong kinh Lạy Cha – “Nước cha trị đến” –
mang ý nghĩa đặc biệt hôm nay. Tiếng kêu xin thảm thiết nhất
trong lời cầu nguyện của chúng ta phải là lời kêu van bởi Thánh
Thần và Vị Hôn Thê ở đoạn cuối sách Khải Huyền: “Amen! Xin hãy
đến, lạy Chúa Giêsu!” <i>Marantha!</i> (22:20). </span></p>
