đẹp trời thuộc tháng Năm năm 1962, chiếc xe thổ mộ lóc cóc từ
chợ Thủ Đức đến Châu Bình đã chở mình đến trước cổng Dòng Đồng
Công để nhập đệ tử viện, lúc đó còn gọi là Đội Magnificat. Các
anh lớn - linh mục và tu sỹ - gọi tụi mình là các chú “ma-nhít”
(Magni), đội trưởng Magnificat lúc bấy giờ là anh Nguyễn Trung
Giáo. Ngày 2 tháng 7 năm 1962, Lễ Mẹ Thăm Viếng, Đội Magnificat
được nâng lên thành đệ tử viện với giám đốc tiên khởi là anh
Nguyễn An Trị. Như vậy, mình thuộc thành phần đệ tử sinh đầu
tiên của Dòng Đồng Công, và hiện nay được đổi tên thành Dòng Mẹ
Chúa Cứu Chuộc. Nhưng chỉ một thời gian sau khi rời Đệ Tử Viện,
mình lại được hân hạnh trở về với mái nhà xưa trong vai trò của
một Phụ Trách. Có thể nói Đệ Tự Viện Đồng Công đã chiếm trọn
tuổi trẻ và tuổi thanh xuân của mình. Một khung trời đầy kỷ
niệm.</span></p>

khi mới bước chân vào nhà Chúa là cú ngã xe đạp. Đây là những
chuyện “bí mật” chưa bao giờ kể nhưng hôm nay mới kể. Anh chàng
chở mình từ phòng khách nhà Dòng vào khu nhà đệ tử viện lại là
anh mới tập đi xe đạp. Kết quả là cả người chở và người được chở
đều lăn đùng ra khi xe mới lăn bánh được vài trăm thước. Chuyện
này chỉ sau hơn 30 năm gặp nhau trên đất khách tức là lần gặp
nhau tại Westminster, California khi anh em ngồi tâm sự mới vỡ
lẽ. Cả hai cùng cười và tự an ủi: “Có lẽ vì vậy mà hai đứa mình
đều không thọ trong dòng”. Nay thì người ở California, nước Mỹ,
kẻ ở Melbourne, Úc Châu lâu lâu qua lại với nhau vài dòng email
để ôn lại những ngày tháng cũ.</span></p>

em nào biết gì về những chuyện “đàn anh” như mình khi còn là một
chú đệ tử sinh đã phá phách, nghịch ngợm như thế nào. Và tiếp

ở đệ tử viện, người mà bọn đệ tử sinh sợ nhất và cũng hay tìm
cách qua mặt nhất là giám thị. Anh giám thị của bọn mình lúc đó
là anh Đỗ Linh Sáng. Đây là vị giám thị có làn da ngăm ngăm đen
khác với cái tên gọi “Linh Sáng”. Ngoài ra, anh có giọng cười,
và cả nụ cười bảo đảm không có một ai trên hành tinh này có được
và bắt chước được. Chúa ơi! Không thấy ai nghiêm khắc hơn ngài
giám thị. Tìm được một nụ cười của ngài là chuyện rất khó. Nhưng
“vỏ quít dầy, có móng tay nhọn”. Chưa bao giờ giám thị Sáng bắt
được một đứa nào trong bọn mình ăn trộm vúa sữa. Ai cũng biết
chung quanh đệ tử viện trồng nhiều cây vú sữa, tới mùa là bọn
mình được phân công trèo lên cây hái trái. Hái ít, ăn nhiều, đây
là dịp ngàn năm một thửa. Có câu: “Ăn vụng thì phải biết chùi
mép.” Thế là ăn xong dấu vỏ ở những góc cành thì làm gì mà giám
thị biết. Có chăng khi vỏ khô, gió thổi mạnh rơi xuống thì mới
biết.</span></p>

Trần Trung Thần, vị giám thị có biệt danh “điệp viên không không
thấy” chuyên săn lùng những chú nhóc ma lanh, phá phách, nhưng
cũng đã một lần bị bọn nhóc “chơi” cho một cú nhớ đời. Giờ này
từ bên kia thế giới, họa may là anh mới biết đứa nào to gan dám
dấu chiếc còi của anh. Anh cũng chưa bao giờ phá vỡ được một
đảng mà chỉ nghe tên thôi đã đủ phải tống cổ tất cả đảng viên
khỏi đệ tử viện rồi, đó là đảng Khoái Lạc.</span></p>

chứ đó chỉ là mấy nhóc bọn mình họp lại với nhau. Mỗi khi đến
phiên đi giúp bàn, bới cơm là xin với anh Mô cho những miếng cơm
cháy vạc, sau đó chuyền nhau mang về nhâm nhi. Cái gì chứ ăn
vụng là ngon tuyệt. Ăn vụng cơm cháy, mà còn qua mặt giám thị
thì càng ngon hơn. Nhưng sau một thời gian hoạt động, đảng ta tự
ý rút lui khỏi chính trường vì sợ bị phát giác. </span></p>

đệ tử sinh mà quên không viết về một mùa Giáng Sinh đầy kỷ niệm
là một thiếu sót. Năm đó, đội Ba chơi trội, đắp tượng ba vua cỡi
lạc đà bằng đất trộn rơm. Con lạc đà to như thật, nhưng khổ nỗi
không ai bảo nó đứng dậy mà đi đến Belem được. Kết quả là cả lớp
hì hục xuống ao kéo cổ nó lên, nhưng không may là lên đến nơi
thì nó lại ngã lăn đùng ra rồi nằm vạ mà không đứng dậy nữa. Dẫu
sao, nhờ tài hướng dẫn và chịu chơi của anh đội trưởng, đội Ba
được giải nhất trong màn tổ chức và sinh hoạt Noel năm đó. Khi
nhớ về các anh đội trưởng thời đó, người mà mình kính phục cũng
chính là anh đội trưởng của mình, anh Phạm Xuân Thu. Sau này qua
Hoa Kỳ, anh lãnh chức phó tế vĩnh viễn, và qua đời tại New
Orleans, Louisiana, USA. </span></p>

những năm đầu đệ tử viện, đó là nạn “rệp”. Ôi sao mà rệp nhiều
đến thế. Tất cả những chiếc giường ngủ đều có rệp chui vào mọi
ngóc ngách. Chính vì thế, mỗi tuần đều có ngày tổng phản công
diệt rệp. Nhà bếp nấu những vạc nước nóng, còn phe ta thì ai nấy
mang những thau, bình xuống xin nước nóng về “tế” rệp. Nước nóng
dội đến đâu là rệp bò ra đến đó tha hồ mà giết, chém không
thương tiếc! </span></p>

trẻ qua mau khi được gọi lên thỉnh viện chuẩn bị vào tập viện
vào ngày 21 tháng 11 năm 1963. Tạm biệt bầu trời đệ tử viện.
Theo đúng lịch sử Dòng, mình thuộc lớp Tập đầu tiên xuất thân từ
đệ tử viện. </span></p>

sinh, tập sinh, và khấn, ngày 30 tháng 4 năm 1969 mình lại được
bề trên gọi và bảo xuống lại phụ trách đệ tử viện. Và thế là
tuổi xuân lại trở về chôn bám với khung trời kỷ niệm này cho đến
ngày miền Nam sụp đổ, và theo đoàn thuyền ra Thái Bình Dương rồi
được tàu hải quân Mỹ vớt. Đây là lần ra đi mà mãi mãi không bao
giờ trở lại với khung trời dấu yêu này nữa.</span></p>

năm xa cách, mình đã có dịp về thăm quê hương, ghé lại Dòng tại
Thủ Đức và được anh Đích hướng dẫn đi thăm lại những kỷ niệm
xưa: nhà Dòng Mẹ không còn nữa. Ký túc xá Đồng Công giờ trở
thành ngôi trường trung học do nhà nước điều hành. Để tử viện
với khu nhà phía dưới gồm nhà nguyện, nhà ăn, nhà bếp, các lớp
học không còn nữa. Riêng khu nhà 30 gian bây giờ đã thành một
bệnh viện tâm thần! Mình có ý muốn vào thăm, nhưng anh Đích nói
rằng họ không cho phép. Thôi đành đứng ngoài nhìn vào, nhìn lên,
nhìn xuống với đầy ắp những kỷ niệm của một thời đã qua mà lòng
cảm thấy nao nao. Bất chợt, mình có cảm tưởng như Bà Huyện Thanh
Quan xưa nhìn cảnh Thăng Long, mà lòng chợt xôn xao:</span></p>

xuất giang hồ, giám đốc đệ tử viện cũng vẫn là anh Nguyễn An
Trị. Mình đang ngồi đây khơi lại những hình ảnh còn sót lại của
vùng trời ký ức sau gần 50 năm xa cách về đệ tử viện thời mình
khi còn là một chú bé, so với thời gian mình đã là một tu
huynh. </span></p>

<span style="font-size:18.0pt;color:#222222">Đệ tử viện lúc mình
được cử xuống gồm có những khuôn mặt mà bây giờ vẫn còn nhớ. Làm
sao quên được những người anh rất đáng mến, thánh thiện, và
nhiệt tâm với tương lai của Dòng. Người đầu tiên mà mình nhớ đến
là Lm. Đặng Ngọc Hưởng, linh hướng. Kỷ niệm nhất là mình được
nằm cạnh bên giường của anh ở đầu nhà 30 gian. Sáng nào cũng
vậy, khi nghe tiếng kẻng báo thức, bước chân xuống khỏi giường
là đã thấy anh đang sấp mình dưới chân giường của anh cầu
nguyện. Rồi đến anh Thế, trưởng ban tiếp tân. Không bao giờ quên
được cảm tưởng khi anh tỏ ra “giận dữ” vì con chó cưng của anh
nuôi luôn đi theo anh canh nhà, bị giám đốc ra lệnh giết để cả
nhà đánh chén mà không hỏi qua anh. Rồi các anh Tốn trưởng ban
kinh tài, anh Thiện, trưởng ban y tế, anh Xuyên, anh Nghiệp, anh
Vương, anh Hà và anh Tín. Anh Phạm Thiên Vương, trưởng ban ẩm
thực sau này cũng là Đạo Trưởng Đạo Châu Bình trong sinh hoạt
hướng đạo của đệ tử viện. Anh đã qua đời tại North Carolina, US.
Riêng anh Hà, trưởng ban ca nhạc, và cùng với anh Tín, một thần
đồng âm nhạc. Anh Tín có thể hòa âm, ca hát, và sử dụng nhiều
nhạc cụ khác nhau từ Piano đến đàn cò (nhị), sáo, và rồi
mandolin, đàn lục huyền cầm, đàn tranh… Anh Tín và anh Hà giờ
này đang cùng dàn hợp xướng Đồng Công hát và đàn trong những dịp
lễ lớn trên thiên quốc. </span></p>

lại về với các trưởng Hoan, Chương, Tri, Sinh, Đích, Chu, Thuần,
Thừa, Thư, Khôi, Hiến, Mạnh và mình. Nếu còn quên sót ai thì xin
niệm tình tha thứ vì ở tuổi này thời gian đã bào mòn trí khôn
khá nhiều. Đặc biệt, xin tưởng nhớ đến các anh Vương, Hoan,
Chương, Tri, Chu, những người anh đã ra đi trước chúng ta, và
nay đang nghỉ giấc bình an. Xin Chúa đón nhận các anh vào Liên
Đoàn Đồng Công trên thiên quốc. Còn lại các trưởng Sinh, Thuần,
Thư, Thảo, Thừa, Đích, Khôi, Duyệt thì cũng thuộc hàng “thất
thập cổ lai hi”, và đang chờ thánh Phêrô xếp chuyến bay. Thêm
vào đó là các anh phụ trách như anh Truyền, Niệm, Ngân, Kim,
Nghi, Nghiệp, Thiều, Lãm. Đặc biệt là anh Hiệp với cái mũi luôn
đỏ ỏn như trái cà chua chín. Anh là người giỏi văn chương và kể
truyện rất có duyên. Nhưng đặc biệt hơn cả là anh Nguyễn Quang
Đán hiện tại đang làm Tổng Phục Vụ của Dòng. Chúng em rất hãnh
diện về anh... </span></p>

sinh hoạt, giám đốc đệ tử viện được thay thế bằng anh Bùi Anh
Tuấn, bọn trẻ gọi anh bằng “nick name” là Tuấn cò. Lý do vì anh
cao lêu khêu. Kỷ niệm nhất của 3 năm làm giám đốc của anh gọi là
thời gian “thắt lưng buộc bụng”. Tiết kiệm tối đa, ăn uống thanh
đạm trong đó có một món mà bảo đảm không nhà hàng sang trọng nào
có trong thực đơn, đó là món “Bò năm sao”.</span></p>

không thuộc vào làng bò 7 món. Nó được chế biến từ ruột bò và
khế. Ruột bò thì order từ chợ Thủ Đức, còn năm sao là do những
trái khế được cắt ra. “Chanh chua thì khế cũng chua. Chanh bán
có mùa khế bán quanh năm”. Cây khế cạnh nhà bếp của anh Mô lại
xum xuê trổ sinh hoa trái bốn mùa nên tha hồ mà hái. Không hiểu
các đầu bếp Thăng, Vương, và Nghiệp học đâu ra cách chế biến món
ăn đặc biệt này, nhưng mỗi lần dọn lên nhìn mấy miếng ruột bò
tròn tròn sắn lại với mỡ bò vây lấy miếng khế là hết hồn rồi. Ấy
thế mà: “Của không ngon, nhà nhiều con cũng hết”.</span></p>

Tuấn, nhờ anh mà mãi tới giờ món bò năm sao vẫn không ra khỏi ký
ức của một thời dưới khung trời đệ tử. Giờ đây thì chắc anh đang
nắm trong tay tấm huy chương vàng với món bò năm sao trên thiên
đình. Chúng em cũng mê tiếng đàn organ và accordion của anh rất

tế thắt lưng buộc bụng gặt hái thành quả vượt mức, anh Tuấn được
triệu về trường triết học, nhường ngôi giám đốc lại cho anh Trị.
Và anh Trị tiếp tục làm giám đốc cho đến ngày đệ tử viện tan
hàng vào cuối tháng Tư năm 1975 vì miền Nam Việt Nam lọt vào tay
Cộng Sản.</span></p>

của giám đốc Trị kể được là những năm huy hoàng của đệ tử viện:
Đệ tự viện có ngôi nhà 30 gian làm nơi ngủ nghỉ cho các đệ tử
sinh, chương trình học được cải tiến đến lớp 9, và tổ chức sinh
họat Hướng Đạo được khởi xướng với lớp huấn luyện các trưởng
ngày 10 tháng 11 năm 1969 tại rừng cao xu cạnh nhà Dòng. Sau đó
thành lập Kha Đoàn, Thiếu Đoàn trực thuộc Đạo Thủ Đô, sau đó
tách rời thành Đạo Thủ Đức.</span></p>

bò năm sao mãi cũng chán, nên hôm nọ Chúa ban cho đệ tử viện một
bữa cơm gà siu siu rất thịnh soạn. Số là khu nhà học năm xưa nay
đã biến thành trại gà để tăng thêm kinh tế cho đệ tử viện. Trại
gà đang trên đà phát triển thì bỗng một hôm lửa từ trời xuống
thiêu rụi. Báo hại tất cả gà lớn, gà nhỏ, gà cha, gà mẹ, gà con
đều không qua khỏi tay thần lửa. Con cháy rụi, con cháy một
phần, chết cong keo, chết không lời tạ từ. Sẵn gà chiên giang
dở, nhà bếp chỉ cần gia vị hành tỏi, đệ tử sinh hôm đó và vài
ngày sau có những bữa cơm gà ngon tuyệt.</span></p>

mua được một con bê để làm giống. Hy vọng sẽ có sữa tươi cho cả
nhà sau này, nào ngờ ve đâu xuất hiện bám đầy con bê như sung.
Ve nó hút hết máu như vậy thì lớn làm sao mà có sữa. Thấy vậy,
anh Thăng (cũng lại anh Thăng), được ơn soi sáng lấy DDT là
thuốc sát trùng hòa đặc xoa đầy trên con vật hy vọng cho ve
chết. Ve chết đâu không biết, nhưng con bê thấy lông ướt cứ thế
mà liếm. Liếm một hồi thuốc sát trùng ngấm vào và nó lăn đùng ra
từ giã cõi đời. Bê chết thì ta đánh chén! Vậy là cả đệ tử viện
lại được một bữa bê bảy món. Nhưng! Cái nhưng quái ác là đây:</span></p>

nhiều chất độc DDT nên người ăn nó cũng phần nào ảnh hưởng. Thế
là từ giám đốc, giám thị, giám học, và anh phụ trách, toàn thể
lớn nhỏ thi nhau ôm bụng đứng chờ ngoài dẫy nhà vệ sinh. Nhìn
các đệ tử sinh nhăn nhó, nhốn nháng chờ đến phiên đã thấy thảm,
mà thảm hơn là nhìn anh giám đốc cũng ôm bụng đứng dựa một góc
nhà vệ sinh mà thấy sầu, thấy thảm! Cả nhà nhớ đời và đặt cho
món ăn đó là món bê 7 món thần tốc, vì thần tốc ăn, thần tốc đau
bụng, và thần tốc tìm nhà vệ sinh. Nhưng may quá, không một ai
phải thần tốc đưa vào nhà thương…. </span></p>

Giản, Đệ, Sùng, Trọng, Vĩnh, Vinh… Trong đó có cả những người
em, người môn sinh nay cũng đã bỏ ra đi như Lm. Duệ, Lm.Thiện,
Lm. Dương, Lm. Tiệp và Chung. Đối với những người đã ra đi
trước, “Chúng con cậy vì danh Chúa nhân từ, xin cho các linh hồn
được lên chốn nghỉ ngơi”. Nghỉ ngơi đi nha các anh. Chúng em còn
đang trong vũng lệ sầu này và chờ ngày đoàn tụ.</span></p>
