Thiên Chúa, được Chúa Cha sai xuống thế để hoàn tất chương trình
đời đời của Ba Ngôi Thiên Chúa là đính ước với nhân loại mặc dù
những tội lỗi phản bội của con người. (Is. 62:5). Để bắt đầu
công việc hòa giải này, Người đã kết hợp bản tính con người
chúng ta với Bản Tính Thiên Chúa của Người qua mầu nhiệm Nhập

thần linh” (hypostatic) này có nghĩa là Chúa Kitô, trong thân
xác và linh hồn, tham dự vào đời sống Ba Ngôi Thiên Chúa như sự
diễn tả hoàn hảo của Con Người của Lời. Vì thế mà Chúa Giêsu có
khả năng biết và yêu tất cả “những gì thuộc về Người trong thế
giới”, ôm ấp không chỉ những ai đang sống trong thời gian của
Người, nhưng cả những người đã chết và chưa sinh ra. Qua mối
liên hệ mới mẻ con người ấy, Người khiến chúng ta nên một với
Thiên Chúa. </span></p>

Ơn Cứu Độ là Chúa Kitô đã chọn để được nâng lên từ cây Thánh Giá
hầu lôi kéo chúng ta lại với Người, như một người chồng dính kết
với vợ mình (Jn 12:32; Eph 5:31-32), không chỉ để tha thứ tội
lỗi của chúng ta. Người đã đính ước chúng ta với chính Người như
những Hôn Thê của Người, Giáo Hội. Nhờ đó, chúng ta được chia sẻ
với Người trong cuộc sống và sứ vụ cứu chuộc của Người trên mặt
đất, để rồi tham dự trọn vẹn Tiệc Cưới Thiên Quốc. Trong tiệc
cưới này, Người sẽ hiệp nhất một cách hoàn toàn, vĩnh viễn
“chính Người” với Ba Ngôi Thiên Chúa và mỗi người chúng ta. </span></p>

phản bội, Chúa Kitô đồng thời tiết lộ hồng ân của chính Người và
một đòi hỏi chia sẻ tình yêu tự hiến của Người với Thiên Chúa và
con người. Gọi các môn đệ là “bạn hữu”, Người tuyên bố, “Không
ai có tình yêu lớn lao hơn kẻ thí mạng sống vì các bạn hữu
mình.”</span></p>

nguyện trên bánh và rượu, Người mặc khải thân mình và máu của
Người khi Nhập Thể để trở nên cách thức biểu lộ và nhận thức sự
hiệp thông cá nhân của Người với các bạn hữu. Họ tất cả trở nên
một với Người trong hiến tế hoàn hảo mà Người dâng lên Chúa Cha.</span></p>

các môn đệ hãy ăn Thịt của Người, sẽ bị trao nộp vì họ, và uống
Máu của Người sẽ bị đổ ra vì họ. Nhưng Người hy hiến chính Người
cho các môn đệ và <i>vì</i> họ.</span></p>

họ “làm việc này mà nhớ đến Ta,” Chúa Giêsu không chỉ ra lệnh họ
cử hành Thánh Lễ như một sự hy sinh tưởng nhớ. Người còn bảo họ
làm như Người đã làm, hàm ý, hãy tận hiến chính họ <i>cho</i> Người
và hy sinh mạng sống <i>vì </i>Người. Nó cũng giống như đòi hỏi
phục vụ tự hiến mà Người đã làm sau khi rửa chân cho họ: “Như Ta
đã làm cho anh em, anh em cũng hãy làm như vậy.” </span></p>

và cử chỉ mật thiết của sự hiệp nhất Chúa Kitô đã thiết lập
trong Giao Ước Mới, là một bằng chứng trong việc đón nhận Mình
và Máu của Người. Còn hơn hành động kết hợp trong hôn nhân, nó
khó lòng để tìm ra những ý nghĩa sống động của một biểu tượng và

Thể, Chúa Giêsu bày tỏ rằng giờ đây các môn đệ là những phần
Thân Thể và Hôn thê của Người, Giáo Hội. Một cách hiển nhiên,
Người biểu tỏ chính mình như Đầu và Hôn Phu. Điều này có nghĩa
là tất cả trở nên các thành phần của hiến tế Người sẽ dâng trên
Thánh Giá.</span></p>

điểm để thành người phối ngẫu của Adam, cũng vậy Giáo Hội được
trang điểm như hôn thê của Adam Mới. Người, dĩ nhiên, là Đấng
Cứu Thế và Đầu của chúng ta, cành nho bị cắt rời sẽ không có sự
sống mới và trổ sinh hoa trái. Nhưng Người đã chọn để làm cho
chúng ta trở nên những cộng tác viên của Người, những thợ khéo
tay trong dự án cứu độ. </span></p>

Chúa và trở thành hiến lễ thơm tho của tình yêu. Toàn bộ sự hiện
hữu của chúng ta như những Kitô hữu là sống với tình yêu hy hiến
này trong và với Người. Điều này làm vinh danh Thiên Chúa, biến
đổi chúng ta, và đem lại sự chuyển đổi của toàn thể nhân loại. </span></p>

Tiệc Ly, các Tông Đồ không hoàn toàn hiểu những lời và những
hành động của Chúa Giêsu. Các ông tất cả đã chạy trốn khi Người
bị bắt, ngoại trừ Gioan ở gần Người cho đến cùng. Sự yếu đuối
tội lỗi của họ là một bi kịch, nhưng Chúa Giêsu đã không bao giờ
bỏ họ - hoặc chúng ta. </span></p>

Người lôi kéo mọi người đến với Người trên Thánh Giá, để nhờ đó

tim của bữa Tiệc Ly - và toàn thể mầu nhiện cứu độ - nếu chúng
ta ngừng lại dưới chân Thánh Giá hoặc chỉ nghĩ đến những giới
hạn của tha thứ tội lỗi. Chúa Giêsu trao ban chính Người cho các
môn đệ, nhờ đó chúng ta có thể nối kết với Người trên Thánh Giá
và chia sẻ hy lễ tình yêu của Người với Thiên Chúa và tha nhân.
Đó là lý do tại sao Giới Luật Mới của Người là yêu như Người
yêu. </span></p>

là những khách bàng quan hoặc những kẻ thọ ơn từ công trình cứu
