Mực tầu là một loại mực màu đen được sử dụng rộng rãi ở nhiều nước
phương Đông và một vài nước khác như Ai Cập, Anh... trong quá khứ để
viết, in và vẽ. Nền tảng của mực này là chất màu cacbon đen pha trong
chất keo lỏng hay các môi trường gắn kết khác. Theo cổ thư Trung Quốc,
mực tàu được làm từ muội than của nhựa hoặc gỗ cây thông bị đốt cháy rồi
hoà với chất keo và hương liệu. Tuy nhiên, muội than của các dạng gỗ
khác nhau cũng được sử dụng và sẽ tạo ra các loại mực có tông màu khác
nhau.</span></p>

Trong các dược thư cổ như Bản thảo cương mục, Bản thảo thập di, mực tàu
được gọi bằng nhiều tên khác nhau như ô kim, trần hương, huyền
hương...và được dùng làm thuốc với vị cay, tính bình, không độc, vào
được các đường kinh tâm, can và thận, có công dụng <span STYLE="border: 1.0pt none windowtext; padding: 0in">chỉ
huyết</span> (<span STYLE="border: 1.0pt none windowtext; padding: 0in">cầm
máu</span>) và tiêu thũng (làm hết phù nề), được dùng để chữa các chứng
bệnh như thổ huyết (nôn ra máu), nục huyết (<span STYLE="border: 1.0pt none windowtext; padding: 0in">chảy
máu cam</span>), băng huyết, huyết lỵ (kiết lỵ phân có lẫn máu), ung
thũng phát bối (nhọt độc ở vùng gáy, lưng)... Theo sách Cương mục, mực
tàu có tác dụng lợi tiểu tiện, điều hoà kinh nguyệt; sách Khai ngọc bản
thảo cho rằng mực tàu có khả năng chỉ huyết, sinh cơ phu ; theo sách Bản
thảo tái tân, loại mực này có công năng bình can thanh phế, trừ phong
nhiệt, chỉ khái thấu, sinh tân giải khát. Về cách dùng: nên chọn loại
mực để càng lâu thì càng tốt, nếu uống trong thì lấy 1 đến 3 tiền mài
uống hoặc tán bột trộn với các vị thuốc khác để làm thuốc hoàn tán, nếu
dùng ngoài thì mài với nước để bôi xoa.</span></p>

Ví như, để chữa nôn ra máu nhiều dùng bột mực tàu 2 tiền hoà với nước a
giao uống ; để chữa chứng chảy máu cam nặng lấy nước mực tầu đặc nhỏ vào
lỗ mũi ; để trị băng huyết dùng bột mực tầu 1 thìa uống; để chữa chứng
xích bạch lỵ (kiết lỵ đi ngoài phân có máu hoặc nhầy mũi) dùng can
khương và mực tàu, mỗi thứ 2 lạng hoà với dấm làm thành viên hoàn to
bằng hạt ngô đồng, mỗi ngày uống vài lần, mỗi lần 30 viên với nước cơm;
để trị nhọt độc ở lưng dùng mực tàu mài với dấm xoa xung quanh tổn
thương, ở giữa lấy mật lợn bôi... Như vậy, có thể thấy, trong y dược học
cổ truyền mực tàu được dùng để chữa khá nhiều mặt bệnh khác nhau. Tuy
nhiên, với những tài liệu, sách vở có trong tay và tham khảo kinh nghiệm
của nhiều lương y, chúng tôi chưa thấy việc dùng mực tàu để chữa bệnh
giời leo bao giờ. Có thể đây là kinh nghiệm dân gian của một vài địa
phương hoặc lương y nào đó mà chúng tôi chưa biết được. Chúng tôi sẽ cố
gắng tiếp tục tìm hiểu và phúc đáp độc giả trong thời gian sớm nhất.</span></p>
