Theo Đông y, nguyên nhân gây bệnh cước là do khí độc ở ngoài xâm nhập
vào cơ thể và gây bệnh. Các loại khí độc này là hàn (lạnh) và thấp (ẩm
ướt) khí. Bệnh nhân sống ở vùng ẩm ướt, hay <span STYLE="color: #111111">tiếp
xúc</span> với nước, khí hậu lạnh lẽo, hay đi chân đất, nằm ngồi hoặc
ngủ dưới đất lâu ngày hàn và thấp khí xâm nhập vào da thịt, gân mạch mà
sinh bệnh. Vào mùa mưa hoặc mùa lạnh thì bệnh thường phát nặng hơn (thấp
hợp hàn). Bệnh gây sưng đau các <span STYLE="color: #111111">ngón tay</span>,
chân, gót chân; bắp chân đến đầu gối, <span STYLE="color: #111111">khớp</span> đau
buốt.</span></p>

Bệnh này nếu chỉ đau ở tay, chân là chưa nặng lắm. Nếu cảm thấy đau tức
ở bụng, da khô rát, nổi vẩy, táo bón là bệnh đã nhập đến can tạng (gan),
đã nặng. Nếu cảm thấy ngực đau tức, <span STYLE="color: #111111">khó thở</span>,
nôn, tim đập mạnh, hay bị hồi hộp, hoảng hốt là bệnh đã nhập đến tâm
tạng (tim), Đông y gọi là cước khí xung tâm, rất khó chữa.</span></p>

Uống 2 ngày/thang, sắc lại 2-3 lần/thang.</span></p>

ngũ gia bì 12g, thiên niên kiện 8g, trần bì 8g, hậu phác 8g, cam thảo
đất 10g, u chặc chìu 10g. Uống 2 ngày/thang, 1 thang uống 2-3 lần.</span></p>

xước 10g, ý dĩ mễ (ý dĩ sống) 10g, quế chi 8g, thiên niên kiện 8g, thổ
phục linh 20g. Uống 2 ngày 1 thang, uống 3-5 thang.</span></p>
