			hương cúng là một trong những nét văn hóa phổ biến ở nhiều nơi trên 
			thế giới, tuy nhiên nó có thể tạo ra chất ô nhiễm không khí, gây nên 
			tình trạng viêm phổi ở con người”, các nhà nghiên cứu từ Đại học 
			University of North Carolina, Mỹ, cho biết.</p>
			<p class="normal" style="margin-top: 12px; margin-bottom: 0">“Đánh 
			giá mối nguy hiểm của việc thắp hương cúng ở Các tiểu Vương quốc 
			Arab thống nhất (UAE)” là nghiên cứu công bố tháng này trên tạp chí
			<em>Science of The Total Environment</em>. Nghiên cứu được thực hiện 
			bởi Rebecca Cohen, nghiên cứu sinh thạc sĩ khoa môi trường và kỹ 
			thuật (ESE) cùng đồng tác giả Kenneth G. Sexton, giáo sư dịch tễ học 
			Karin B. Yeatts.</p>
			<p class="normal" style="margin-top: 12px; margin-bottom: 0">Trong 
			nhiều công trình trước đây, Yeatts và đồng nghiệp đã có nghiên cứu 
			liên quan đến khói hương và một số vấn đề sức khỏe bao gồm mắt, mũi, 
			cổ họng, kích ứng da, triệu chứng hô hấp, trong đó có bệnh hen 
			suyễn, đau đầu, bệnh tim mạch và những thay đổi trong cấu trúc tế 
			bào phổi.</p>
			<p class="normal" style="margin-top: 12px; margin-bottom: 0">Ô nhiễm 
			không khí trong nhà là một trong những mối quan tâm về sức khỏe của 
			con người. Tổ chức Y tế Thế giới ước tính hơn một triệu người chết 
			mỗi năm do mắc bệnh mãn tính về đường hô hấp (COPD), chủ yếu là kết 
			quả của việc tiếp xúc với chất gây ô nhiễm từ bếp lò và lò sưởi.&nbsp;Đốt 
			hương giải phóng các chất ô nhiễm tương tự, bao gồm carbon monoxide 
			(CO).</p>
			<p class="normal" style="margin-top: 12px; margin-bottom: 0">Trong 
			nghiên cứu này, giới khoa học đã xác định và&nbsp;đo đạc các loại hạt bụi 
			và khí phát ra từ hai loại hương thường sử dụng trong nhà&nbsp;ở UAE như 
			khí CO, SO2, NOx, formaldehyde. Việc thử nghiệm được thực hiện trong 
			hơn ba giờ, khoảng thời gian trung bình khi hương được đốt lên trong 
			một buồng thiết kế đặc biệt tương tự phòng khách điển hình của UAE.</p>
			<p class="normal" style="margin-top: 12px; margin-bottom: 0">Các tế 
			bào phổi đặt trong phòng để tiếp xúc với khói, sau đó&nbsp;ủ 24 giờ để 
			các hạt xâm nhập, tác động lên tế bào. Kết quả, phản ứng gây viêm đã 
			diễn ra, một dấu hiệu của bệnh hen suyễn và các vấn đề hô hấp khác, 
			tương tự như tế bào phổi tiếp xúc với khói thuốc lá.</p>
			<p class="normal" style="margin-top: 12px; margin-bottom: 0">Hương 
			được đốt hàng tuần trong 94 % hộ gia đình ở UAE như một văn hóa để 
			tỏa hương thơm vào trang phục, không khí và&nbsp;để loại bỏ mùi thức ăn. 
			Do con người dành tới 90% thừoi gian ở trong nhà, nên ô nhiễm không 
			khí trong nhà trở thành mối quan ngại ngày càng tăng.</p>
			<p class="normal" style="margin-top: 12px; margin-bottom: 0">Các nhà 
			khoa học đề nghị triển khai hệ thống thông gió tốt hơn tại UAE khi 
			thắp hương, chẳng hạn như mở một cửa hoặc cửa sổ để cải thiện luồng 
			không khí.&nbsp;Họ cũng đề nghị sử dụng các thiết bị đốt điện để thay thế 
			cho than.</div>
