Khản tiếng là sự thay đổi của giọng nói. Trong cuống họng có một bộ phận
phát ra âm thanh, đó là thanh quản. </span></p>

Bình thường, giọng nói có thể trầm ấm như giọng ca của Sĩ Phú hoặc cao
vút như tiếng hát Thái Thanh. Sở dĩ có âm thành là vì không khí từ phổi
chạy qua thanh quản, làm rung động hai sợi dây cấu tạo ra thanh quản.

Khi thanh quản bị tổn thương, giọng nói thay đổi. Các nguyên nhân gây ra
tổn thương cho thanh quản có thể là nhiễm trùng cảm cúm, viêm xoang,
stress căng thẳng thần kinh, hít phải chất lạ, nói nhiều, nói to, la
hét, có chất nhờn bám vào thanh quản, khô cuống họng, hút nhiều thuốc
lá, cần sa, dịch vị từ bao tử đội ngược lên họng. </span></p>

Nói chung, khản tiếng không phải là chuyện khẩn cấp mà nhiều khi chỉ bớt
nói, xông hơi, uống nước nóng pha với chanh, mật ong là bớt. Khi khản
tiếng vì hút thuốc lá, cần ngưng ngay vì thuốc lá vừa gây ra ung thư
phổi vừa gây ra khản tiếng.</span></p>
