Lạnh và Cúm, mà dân gian mình gọi là “Bệnh Thời Khí”, thường xảy ra
nhiều hơn vào những ngày Ðông tuyết lạnh, mưa bay. </span></p>

Flu hoành hành từ tháng 11 tới tháng 3 dương lịch, đôi khi quyến
luyến tới đầu Xuân. </span></p>

<span STYLE="font-size: 12.0pt; font-family: Times New Roman">Cảm
Lạnh Common Cold có quanh năm nhưng cũng hay xuất hiện vào mùa lạnh.
Trung bình mỗi người mỗi năm có thể bị cảm lạnh ba, bốn lần.</span></p>

tiết lạnh không gây ra Cảm và Cúm, nhưng vào thời điểm này, có
nhiều lễ hội nên người ta thường gặp gỡ nhau và cũng vì mưa lạnh nên
họ sống ở trong nhà nhiều hơn, tạo cơ hội tốt cho Cảm Cúm lây lan.

Cảm lạnh và Cúm là bệnh của cơ quan hô hấp phía trên, ảnh hưởng tới
niêm mạc của miệng, mũi, cuống họng và phổi. Cảm-Cúm rất dễ lây lan.
Ngay từ một ngày trước khi có triệu chứng, người bệnh đã có thể
truyền virus cho người khác và tiếp tục truyền lan dăm ngày kế tiếp.

Cảm Cúm thường tự hết trong thời gian từ mười ngày tới hai tuần lễ,
nếu không có các biến chứng như viêm phế quản, sưng phổi. Chính
những biến chứng này mới khiến cho người bệnh phải nhập viện và mới
gây ra một số tử vong, đặc biệt là ở người tuổi cao, có bệnh mãn
tính.</span></p>

Phòng ngừa Cúm hữu hiệu nhất vẫn là tiêm ngừa. Cho tới hôm nay thì
chắc là hầu hết mọi người đều đã làm rồi. Nói hầu hết vì cũng có một
số người vì lý do này lý do khác hoặc quên chưa kịp chích, thì nên
đi chích ngay. Bây giờ mới tháng Giêng, Flu còn hoành hành vài ba
tháng nữa. </span></p>

Cảm lạnh thì vẫn chưa có vaccin ngừa. Cho nên để tránh bệnh, ta cần
phải áp dụng các phương thức phòng chống ngăn ngừa giống như với
Cúm.</span></p>

Virus Cảm Cúm có rất nhiều trong mũi trong miệng người bệnh. Khi họ
ho hoặc hắt xì hơi là virus theo nhau bay ra không khí từng đàn.
Chúng sống trong không khí, bám trên bàn ghế, vật dụng người bệnh
dùng cả mấy tiếng đồng hồ, có khi cả vài ngày. Ðụng chạm vào các vật
này, hít phải không khí đó là nhiễm bệnh dễ dàng. </span></p>

Nếu người bệnh lịch sự đưa tay che miệng che mũi mỗi khi hắt hơi
hoặc ho thì bàn tay của họ sẽ phủ kín những virus Cảm, Cúm. Bàn tay
đó cầm chiếc điện thoại đưa cho người khác hoặc bắt tay đón tiếp bạn
bè là bạn bè lãnh đủ tác nhân gây bệnh.</span></p>

Kết quả nghiên cứu của Ðại học Y tế Virginia phổ biến vào tháng 9
năm 2006 tại Ðại hội Vi Trùng Học họp ở San Francisco, cho hay, bệnh
nhân bị cảm lạnh, rời khách sạn sau vài ngày trú ngụ, đều để lại
nhiều virus trên vật dụng trong phòng như điện thoại, nắm cửa, nút
điều chỉnh TV...Khách vãng lưu kế tiếp có thể dễ dàng nhiễm bệnh,
nếu sờ mó vào các vật dụng đó rồi đưa tay lên dụi mắt, lau mũi..</span></p>

Vậy thì xin chịu khó rửa tay mỗi khi thấy cần. Chỉ mười lăm giây
đồng hồ xoa vò đôi bàn tay trong nước ấm với chút xà bông là trăm
phần trăm công hiệu phòng chống lây lan Cúm Cảm. Có người gợi ý vừa
rửa tay vừa lẩm bẩm vui vẻ hát hết mấy câu của bài “Happy Birthday
To You”là vừa đủ sạch sẽ đôi bàn tay mà khỏi phải nhìn đồng hồ...Ðây
cũng là ý kiến hay hay, ngộ nghĩnh nên theo.</span></p>

-Người thân chẳng may bị Cảm Cúm thì ai cũng sẵn lòng chăm sóc,
thuốc thang. Nhưng nên cẩn thận giữ gìn khi tiếp xúc. Chẳng nên
chung chiếu chung giường, bắt tay ôm hôn từ biệt. Mang khẩu trang
khi phải tới gần phục vụ người bệnh. Lau rửa vật dụng người bệnh
dùng, buồng tắm, cầu tiêu, bàn ghế với nước sát trùng mua ngoài chợ
hoặc pha một phần chất tẩy mầu sát trùng (chlorox), mười phần nước
lã là có dung dịch loại trừ virus.</span></p>

-Tránh đưa bàn tay dù ngà ngọc nhưng dính chùm virus Cảm Cúm lên

-Khi bắt đầu thấy có dấu hiệu Cảm Cúm thì nên ở nhà, vừa để nghỉ
ngơi vừa để tránh truyền lan bệnh cho bạn đồng sở, cho học sinh cùng
trường. Cảm Cúm lây lan mạnh nhất vào mấy ngày đầu sau khi nhiễm
bệnh.</span></p>
