Theo các nhà chuyên môn y học, huyết áp bình thường là bằng hoặc
dưới 120/80, lý tưởng là 115/75. Huyết áp thấp khi một trong hai kết
quả bằng hoặc dưới 90 cho tâm thu, 60 tâm trương. Như vậy nếu có
kết quả 115/50 thì là huyết áp thấp.</span></p>

Sau đây là một số nguyên nhân gây ra huyết áp thấp:</span></p>

a-Giảm khối máu do mất nước tại các mô cơ thể vì ói mửa, tiêu chảy,
nóng sốt, dùng nhiều thuốc lợi tiểu, phỏng nặng, vận động quá mức
với đổ mồ hôi. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin-top: 12px; margin-bottom: 0">

b-Nội ngoại xuất huyết đều giảm khối lượng máu và đưa tới thấp
huyết áp.</span></p>

c-Trong thời gian có thai, mạch máu giãn mở, giàm sức ép của máu lên
động mạch do đó áp huyết áp xuống thấp khiến cho bà bầu hay chóng
mặt. May mắn là huyết áp sẽ trở lại bình thường sau khi sanh.</span></p>

d-Một số bệnh tim như suy tim, rối loạn van tim, nhịp tim chậm, cơn
suy tim đều làm huyết áp xuống thấp vì máu lưu hành ít đi.</span></p>

đ-Mấy bệnh nội tiết như tiểu đường, nhược hoặc cường tuyến giáp,

e-Nhiễm trùng huyết, cơn dị ứng trầm trọng, dinh dưỡng thiếu sinh tố

g-Dược phẩm như thuốc lợi tiểu, thuốc giãn mạch, thuốc viagra, vài
loại thuốc chống trầm cảm, thuốc chống đau, rượu.</span></p>

h-Bệnh Parkinson, chấn thượng sọ não, ngộ độc hóa chất, phản ứng
với thuốc, suy gan, nằm bất động quá lâu.</span></p>

Điều trị</span></p>

Thấp huyết áp ở người khỏe mạnh mà chỉ gây ra chóng mặt thoảng qua
khi đứng lên ngồi xuống thường thường không cần điều trị.</span></p>

Với các trường hợp nặng, điều trị nguyên nhân gây ra huyết áp thấp
có thể giái quyết được vấn đề. </span></p>

Trường hợp huyết áp xuống rất thấp gây ra shock thì cần được cấp cứu
tại bệnh viện.</span></p>

Bác sĩ có thể cho dùng dược phẩm tăng khối máu (fludocortione,
clonidine, viên ngừa thai); thuốc co mạch (midrodine, ritalin, vài
loại chống trầm cảm) hoặc thuốc điều khiển sản xuất epinephrine/norepinephrine
(ức chế beta atenolol, propanolol) để nâng huyết áp. Nhiều bệnh nhân
cũng tăng lượng muối tiêu thụ để giữ nước trong cơ thể và do đó
huyết áp lên cao.</span></p>
