Bình thường, mỗi ngày ta rụng mất từ 50 tới 100 sợi tóc. Nhưng khi
mà tóc rụng nhiều hơn hoặc từng mảng như bà tả, thì đây là một điều
rất đáng quan tâm, cần được tìm hiểu nguyên do để mà điều trị.</span></p>

Tóc rụng là do thay đổi hormone trong cơ thể, tổn thương hoặc kích
thích nang lông. Những lý do khiến tóc rụng có thể là:</span></p>

•Dùng mỹ phẩm cho tóc không đúng theo lời chỉ dẫn của nhà bào chế.
Đó là các hóa chất để nhuộm tóc, uốn tóc, tẩy tóc. Nếu ta theo đúng
chỉ dẫn thì các mỹ phẩm này ít gây ra thiệt hại cho tóc; nhưng nếu
ta bôi trên tóc lâu quá hoặc dùng quá thường xuyên thì tóc sẽ bị hư
dòn, dễ gẫy và dễ rụng hoặc khi dùng thuốc nhuộm và uốn cùng một lúc.</span></p>

•Khi búi tóc, nhiều người kéo tóc ra quá căng cũng làm tóc bị hư,

•Khi chải đầu, dùng lược quá mau (răng liền nhau) hoặc chải quá mạnh

•Rụng tóc hói theo di truyền.</span></p>

•Da đầu nhiễm vi khuẩn hoặc nấm. May mắn là sau khi chữa khỏi bệnh

•Rụng tóc vì bị bệnh tự miễn Alopecia Areata xảy ra ở người lớn

.Vài tháng sau khi sanh, tóc thường rụng rất nhiều có khi kéo dài cả
nửa năm mới ngưng.</span></p>

•Phụ nữ uống thuốc viên ngừa thai.</span></p>

•Thiếu chất đạm trong dinh dưỡng.</span></p>

•Chữa ung thư bằng tia phóng xạ hoặc hóa chất.Tóc có thể mọc lại sau
khi ngưng điều trị với các chất này.</span></p>

•Dược phẩm như vài thứ thuốc chữa bệnh phong thấp, cao huyết áp,
bệnh tim.</span></p>

•Thiếu chất sắt hoặc dùng nhiều sinh tố A.</span></p>

•Căng thẳng tâm thần, buồn rầu lo nghĩ thái quá, mất ngủ hoặc tổn
thương thể xác, bệnh tự mình kéo tóc, xuống cân quá mau, thiếu dinh
dưỡng, bệnh tiểu đường. May mắn là chân tóc không bị hủy hoại cho
nên tóc mọc lại khi các tình trạng này chấm dứt.</span></p>

Về điều trị thì bác sĩ có thể cho các loại thuốc như sau:</span></p>

•Thuốc viên Finasteride (Propecia) chỉ dùng cho nam giới bị hói. Trẻ
em dưới 18 tuổi và nữ giới không được dùng. </span></p>

<span style="line-height: 115%; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif">
•Thuốc thoa Minoxidil (Rogaine) 2% và 5%. Nữ giới dùng loại 2%. Trẻ
em và phụ nữ có thai hoặc cho con bú không được dùng. Thoa da đầu
ngày 2 lần. Thường thì phải dùng 12 tuần lễ mới thấy công hiệu. Tóc
mọc ra thưa và ngắn hơn tóc thường, nhưng tạm đủ để che chỗ không có
tóc. Sau 6 tháng mà tóc không mọc ra thì ngưng. Tác dụng phụ gồm
ngứa da đầu.</span></p>
