Có thể chúng ta không thể nhớ hết được từng sự kiện quan trọng
đã xảy ra trong cuộc đời của mình, nhưng không ai có thể quên
được ngày cha mẹ hay người thân yêu qua đời. Đó là lý do hàng
năm, vào những ngày giỗ, chúng ta nhớ đến và xin Lễ cho họ.</p>
<p style="font-family: Arial; color: rgb(0, 0, 0); margin: 0px; padding: 0px">
Trong tuần này, các tín hữu Công Giáo nhớ đến một Đấng không
những thân yêu đối với chúng ta, nhưng còn Đấng Cứu Độ chúng ta.
Ngài đã chấp nhận cái chết với tất cả tình yêu dành cho con
người và với trọn vẹn sự cương quyết. Ngài tiến vào Giêrusalem,
biết trước được mình sẽ phải chết như thế nào, nhưng vẫn không
lùi bước. Sắc diện Ngài được Tiên Tri Isaia mô tả là “trơ mặt
chai như đá,” một sắc diện nói lên thái độ bất khuất, và phải
chu toàn sứ mạng cứu chuộc nhân loại bằng mọi giá. Ngài chấp
nhận nhục hình và cả cái chết đớn đau để minh chứng tình yêu và
xác quyết rằng Chúa là Thiên Chúa của sự sống. Quyền lực tử thần
đã bị đánh bại, và sự chết không bao giờ còn là một đe dọa đối
với những ai tin vào Ngài.</p>

Trong lịch sử của nhân loại, nhiều bậc vĩ nhân đã chết, và nhiều
giáo chủ cũng đã chết. Cái chết của họ đáng kính, nhưng vẫn khác
với cái chết của Chúa Giêsu bởi vì chưa ai chết đi và có thể
sống lại. Duy chỉ có Chúa Giêsu minh chứng được Ngài đã chiến
thắng sự chết và hứa ban cho chúng ta sự sống đời đời. “Ta là sự
sống lại và là sự sống, ai tin Ta, dầu có chết cũng sẽ được
sống. Và kẻ nào sống mà tin Ta, sẽ không chết bao giờ” (Ga
11:25-26). Lời hứa đó đã được kiện toàn mà chúng ta đang chuẩn
bị mừng kính.</p>

Trong tuần lễ này, chúng ta tưởng niệm sự chết của Ngài bởi vì
chính cái chết đó loan báo tin vui sự sống mới cho nhân loại.
Không phải chết đi rồi chúng ta mới được lãnh nhận sự sống mới,
nhưng nó bắt đầu từ khi chúng ta lãnh nhận Bí Tích Rửa Tội. Từ
đó, sự sống mới là được làm con của Thiên Chúa, được ánh sáng
của lời hằng sống chiếu soi tâm trí chúng ta, và được cảm nhận
ơn tha tội mỗi khi chúng ta lầm đường lạc lối. Sự sống mới là
biết dẹp bỏ hận thù và sẵn sàng tha thứ cho nhau. Sự sống mới là
biết noi gương Chúa hy sinh cho nhau. Bao lâu chúng ta vẫn còn
nuôi dưỡng hận thù và chỉ biết sống cho riêng mình, bấy lâu
chúng ta còn sống trong tăm tối của đời sống cũ, như một con
người đáng thương chưa được cứu chuộc.</p>

Một trong cách tốt nhất để tưởng niệm sự chết của Chúa Giêsu, đó
là cùng Giáo Hội cử hành các nghi thức của Tuần Thánh. Năm nay
khác với mọi năm. Vì hoàn cảnh dịch bệnh đang lan tràn, chúng ta
không thể đến nhà thờ được, nhưng điều đó không có nghĩa là
chúng ta hoàn toàn bỏ rơi Tuần Thánh. Giáo Hội vẫn cho phép
chúng ta thông công qua nhiều phương tiện trực tuyến. Dĩ nhiên
không thể nào sốt sắng bằng chúng ta cùng cử hành tại nhà thờ,
nhưng chúng ta vẫn có thể tạo cho giờ thông công được sinh động
hơn bằng cách đọc trước các bài đọc. Nếu ai chưa có sách Lễ song
ngữ Lời Của Chúa, có thể ghé vào hai trang mạng này để download
và in các bài đọc ra cho mọi người trong nhà cùng dễ theo dõi,

Tất cả mọi cố gắng của chúng ta trong Tuần Thánh này không phải
để trả ơn cho Thiên Chúa hay đền bù tội lỗi mình đã xúc phạm,
nhưng là để giúp chúng ta cảm nhận sâu xa hơn tình yêu cao vời
khôn ví mà Con Thiên Chúa đã chết vì chúng ta.</div>
