khác nhau: một người dửng dưng cho là đồ ve chai, người khác thích thú
vì khám phá ra vật quí báu, còn người khác nữa lại xúc động rơi lệ vì
nhận ra Chúa Giêsu chịu đau đớn trên thập giá.</span></p>

"Times New Roman",serif">Thập giá (tức là cuộc khổ nạn của Chúa Giêsu)
là khúc xương khó nuốt nhất đối với các môn đệ. Ba lần Chúa báo trước
cuộc tử nạn. Cả ba lần họ đều không hiểu và không chấp nhận. Các môn đệ
nghe nói đến thập giá thì nổi da gà. Thập giá gợi lên một cây khổ giá
trần trụi. Thập giá gợi lên hình ảnh một con người quằn quại, tuyệt vọng
trong đau đớn, nhục nhã nỗi ê chề, lơ lửng giữa trời và đất, hấp hối
giữa sống và chết, bị nhiếc mắng trước những cái nhìn thù ghét và khinh
khi, bị chê bai trước những con mắt tò mò và dửng dưng. Phêrô đã từng
run rẩy can ngăn Chúa Giêsu đừng đi vào con đường thập giá. Các tông đồ
rùng mình sợ hãi khi Chúa Giêsu nói đến thập giá.</span></p>

Đấng chịu đóng đinh đã chiến thắng đau khổ. Chúa Kitô đã tạo ra sự khác
biệt hoàn toàn giữa thập giá và kẻ bị đóng đinh. Khi nhận lấy thập giá,
Chúa Kitô đã dùng tình yêu biến đau khổ thành niềm vui. Tình yêu làm cho
thập giá trở thành Thánh Giá.</span></p>

Thiện sẽ giành chiến thắng cuối cùng trên sự Ác.</span></p>

bại chuyển thành chiến thắng, sự sống bị tước đoạt trở thành sự sống
viên mãn, ai đánh mất mạng sống mình sẽ tìm gặp lại sự sống, ai can đảm
chết cho Chúa Kitô sẽ được sống muôn đời.</span></p>

là tâm điểm của cử hành Phụng Vụ. Đức Giêsu Kitô đã ra khỏi mồ tối tăm,
đã chiến thắng thần chết, và trở thành Nguồn Ánh Sáng, Sự Sống cho nhân
loại. Để đánh mốc thời gian lịch sử cứu độ, trong đêm ấy, linh mục chủ
tế khắc ghi trên nến với những dấu chỉ như sau:</span></p>

"Times New Roman",serif">Khi ghi dấu năm cứu độ chung quanh trục cây
Thánh Giá, Giáo hội cũng ghi khắc vào đó cả khối tình tri ân của những
năm hưởng nhờ hồng ân cứu độ trong lịch sử thời gian. Thánh Giá nối trời
với đất trong không gian mênh mông. Thánh Giá là điểm thâu họp lịch sử
dọc theo dòng thời gian. Thánh Gía bao gồm hai chiều kích ấy. Đức Kitô
là trung tâm điểm của không gian và thời gian.</span></p>

Phục Sinh, có ý nghĩa thâu họp vạn vật, mang ý nghĩa vũ trụ. Thánh
Irénée viết: “Ngài đã đến dưới dạng hữu hình với những gì thuộc về Ngài,
Ngài đã trở thành xác thịt và xác thịt ấy đã được treo lên cây Thập tự
để bằng cách ấy thâu họp vào mình cả vũ trụ”. Thánh Giá trở thành trục
thế giới. Thánh Cyrille ở Jérusalem viết: “Chúa Trời đã dang hai tay
trên cây Thập Tự để ôm lấy bờ cõi Vũ trụ và vì vậy núi Golgotha là trục
thế giới”. Trên trục vũ trụ ấy có treo lên một người Con của Thiên Chúa.
Thánh Phaolô thì diễn tả trục này: “Đó là đưa thời gian tới hồi viên mãn
là quy tụ muôn loài trong trời đất dưới quyền một thủ lãnh là Đức Kitô”
(Ep 1, 10).</span></p>

"Times New Roman",serif">Là Trục của thế giới, Thánh Giá có trung tâm
điểm là Đức Giêsu Kitô. Nhìn theo chiều kích cánh chung, thời gian sau
cùng nhân loại sẽ chịu sự phân chia, bên tả hoặc bên hữu. Đó là thời
gian của sự phán xét. Trục còn có nghĩa là mốc tuyển chọn, những người
được tuyển chọn và những người tự mình đánh rơi. Thánh Phaolô nhìn trục
này như sự phân chia Lề Luật và Đức Tin, phân chia tâm hồn con người
thành hai phần, nhục thể và Thần Khí, để rồi cho thấy sự thống nhất của
phân chia là việc hóan cải, tái sinh, công chính hóa, lề luật, nhờ vào
niềm tin cuộc khổ nạn của Đức Giêsu trên Thánh Giá.</span></p>

"Times New Roman",serif">Là trục của thế giới, nhìn theo chiều kích
cánh chung, Thánh Giá biểu trưng là chiếc thang, một chiếc thang đưa con
người đi lên tham dự vào đời sống của Thiên Chúa. Một chiếc thang để đất
trời không còn xa nhau. Chiếc thang nhiệm mầu mà thánh Nữ Perpétue thấy
trong ngày chịu tử đạo: “Tôi nhìn thấy một cái thang bằng đồng thanh,
cao khác thường, vươn tới tận trời, nhưng hẹp tới mức chỉ có thể đi lên
từng người một: Hai bên thang tua tủa các khí giới: Kiếm, giáo, móc câu,
gươm, như vậy mà nếu người nào lên mà lơ đãng, không chú ý nhìn lên trên
cao, sẽ bị tan nát thịt da, để lại những mảng thịt mắc vào những khí
giới đó. Và bên dưới cái thang có một con rồng to lớn dị thường, nằm đó
chăng bẫy những ai đạp chân lên thang, làm cho họ khiếp sợ không dám
trèo lên. Còn tôi, khi tôi đặt chân lên trên bậc thang thứ nhất, tôi đã
đạp lên đầu con rồng đó, thế là tôi đi lên được và nhìn thấy một khu
vườn rộng mênh mông”. Chiếc thang có những bậc của thử thách. Niềm an
bình sẽ xuất hiện khi bước lên bậc thang thứ nhất. Và cứ thế theo từng
bậc niềm an bình sẽ được gia tăng cho đến khi hòan tòan ở trên đỉnh
thang. Muốn đi lên cao, cần rũ bỏ, rũ bỏ làm cho nhẹ nhàng thanh thóat
trên đường đi lên. Đó cũng là thời gian dành cho việc cầu nguyện và ăn
chay thực thi đức ái để trút bỏ mỗi ngày trong cuộc sống.</span></p>

Thiên Chúa. Bởi vì “Sự điên rồ nơi Thiên Chúa thì khôn ngoan hơn loài
người, và sự yếu đuối nơi Thiên Chúa thì mạnh sức hơn loài người” (1Cr
1, 24 -25).Thánh Giá đã trở thành dấu chỉ của tình yêu hy vọng và sự
sống.</span></p>

chẳng hãnh diện về điều gì, ngoài thập giá Đức Giêsu Kitô” (Gl 6,14).</span></p>

"Times New Roman",serif">Đức Cha Lambert de la Motte sáng lập Dòng Mến
Thánh Giá. Chắc hẳn ngài đã cảm nghiệm sâu sắc về Cuộc Khổ Nạn của Đức
Kitô nên mới có ý tưởng này! Dòng Mến Thánh Giá là Hội Dòng chọn Đức
Kitô chịu đóng đinh là đối tượng duy nhất của tình yêu của lòng trí. Kể
cũng thật lạ! Không chọn cái gì nhẹ nhàng mà lại chọn Đấng chịu đóng
đinh trên Thánh Giá, phải vác phải mang ách nữa chứ! Ngài có thành công
gì đâu trước mắt người đời! Có nhẹ nhàng gì đâu trước mắt trần thế! Thế
nhưng, Đấng chịu đóng đinh là hồng ân cứu rỗi. Chọn con đường theo Chúa
là đi vào con đường hẹp. Một chọn lựa khôn ngoan vì đã chọn chính Đấng
Cứu Độ. Thánh Giá là đỉnh cao ơn cứu độ. Mến Thánh Giá là tình yêu cao
nhất của đời dâng hiến. Từ đó nẻo đường cứu độ mở ra cho bản thân và có
khả năng giúp cho những người khác tiến vào nẻo đường ấy.</span></p>

Giêsu Kitô. Ngay cả sau khi Chúa sống lại vinh quang, các vết thương khổ
nạn thập giá vẫn hiển hiện vẫn không bị xóa nhòa. Thánh Giá Chúa Kitô
xuyên qua thời gian và hiện diện trong mỗi giây phút cuộc đời chúng ta.
Sự hiện diện ấy làm thay đổi tất cả.</span></p>

bóng tối của quyền lực, tiền của, danh vọng, lạc thú đang che mờ bóng
thánh giá. Con người đang lao mình vào bóng tối bằng mọi giá. Xã hội hôm
nay cần phải được ánh sáng của Thánh Giá soi dẫn. Từ Thánh Giá Ðức Kitô,
tình thương chúc phúc thế gian, sự sống chan chứa cho lòng người. Suy
tôn Thánh Giá chính là suy tôn tình yêu, sự sống của Chúa Kitô.</span></p>
