niệm ngày cung hiến Vương cung thánh đường Latêranô là dịp suy nghĩ về đền thờ
đích thực, là chính thân thể Đức Giêsu Kitô (Ga 2,21). Chính nơi đền thờ này,
Thiên Chúa đã thi thố tất cả quyền năng cứu độ nhân loại. Cũng chính nơi đền thờ
này sự thờ phượng đích thực mới được dâng lên Thiên Chúa.</span></p>

Giới thiệu Đền Thờ Latêranô</span></p>

cung Thánh Đường Thánh Gioan Latêranô là một trong những thánh đường đầu tiên
được xây cất sau những cuộc bách đạo ban đầu. Thánh đường được Hoàng Đế
Constantinô xây và được ĐTC Sylvester thánh hiến năm 324. Thánh Đường này tiếp
tục là Nhà Thờ Chánh Tòa của Giám Mục Rôma, Đức Thánh Cha. Thánh Đường này được
gọi là ‘Mater Ecclesiae Romae Urbis et Orbis’, Mẹ của tất cả các thánh đường ở
Rôma và trên thế giới.</span></p>

313, sau khi ra chiếu chỉ ở Milano cho Giáo hội được tự do hành đạo, Hoàng Đế
Constantine cho xây đền thờ ở Laterano trong thời gian 313-318 để dâng kính Chúa
Cứu Thế. Thời Đức Giáo Hoàng Gregorio I (590-604) đền thờ được dâng kính cả
Thánh Gioan Tẩy Giả và Thánh Gioan Tông Đồ. ĐGH Lucio II đã ấn định tên đền thờ
như hiện nay, Đền Thờ Thánh Gioan ở Laterano, năm 1144. Từ thế kỷ thứ 4 đến thế
kỷ thứ 14, đền thờ này là trung tâm của giáo hội Roma, trụ sở và biểu tượng của
Đức Giáo Hoàng.</span></p>

các đền thờ khác, Đền Thờ Thánh Gioan ở Laterano nhiều lần bị tàn phá, hỏa hoạn,
hoang tàn sau hơn 73 năm vắng chủ khi giáo triều dời về Avignon, Pháp, đươc xây
lại như ngày nay thời ĐGH Sisto V (1585-1590).</span></p>

đường dài 130m, có 5 gian. Gian chính dài 87m, rộng 16m, có tượng 12 Thánh Tông
Đồ bằng đá cẩm thạch trắng. Bước vào đền thờ, bên phải có đàn phong cầm vĩ đại
với hai ngàn ống. Sau tòa giám quản có Giếng Rửa Tội (theo truyền thuyết, chính
Hoàng Đế Constantine được ĐGH Silvestro rửa tội nơi đây). Ngoài nhà thờ, bên
hông trái, có tháp bút cao nhất (47m) và cổ kính nhất ở Roma bằng đá hoa cương
đỏ của Ai Cập có từ thế kỷ 14 trước Chúa KiTô. Là Mẹ của các nhà thờ và là nhà
thờ chánh tòa của giáo phận Roma, đền thờ Thánh Gioan ở Laterano nhắc nhở các
tín hữu “hồng ân rửa tội” với tất cả ý nghĩa của ơn này và mời gọi các tín hữu
cảm tạ Thiên Chúa bằng chính cuộc sống xứng đáng là con cái Thiên Chúa trong Đức
Giêsu Kitô. (x.BGCN 2008).</span></p>

Chúa Giêsu thánh tẩy đền thờ</span></p>

với Do thái giáo, Lễ Vượt Qua là một đại lễ, tưởng niệm cuộc vượt qua Biển Đỏ

Đền Thờ là một sắc thuế mà mỗi người Do thái từ 9 tuổi trở lên đều phải đóng.
Tiền thuế là ½ siếc-lơ, tương đương với 2 ngày công nhật.</span></p>

việc giao dịch thương mại, mọi loại tiền đều co giá trị tại Palestin. Nhưng tiền
thuế Đền thờ phải nộp bằng đồng siếc-lơ Galilê hoặc siếc-lơ của Đền Thờ.</span></p>

hành hương đến Đền Thờ phải đổi tiền siếc-lơ. Vì vậy trong sân Đền Thờ có nhiều
người làm nghề đổi tiền. Tiền huê hồng khi đổi là ¼ ngày công cho 1 đồng. 4 đồng
siếc-lơ thì người đổi được lợi một ngày công. Do đó số tiền thuế Đền thờ và lợi
tức đổi tiền thật là lớn.</span></p>

khiến Chúa Giêsu nổi giận là khách hành hương phải chịu những tệ nạn của bọn đổi
tiền bóc lột với giá cắt cổ. Thật là bất công và càng tệ hơn nữa khi người ta
nhân danh Tôn giáo để trục lợi.</span></p>

cạnh bọn đổi tiền còn có một số người bán bò, chiên, bồ câu để khách hành hương
mua làm lễ vật toàn thiêu. Điều hết sức tự nhiên và tiện lợi là có thể mua đựơc
các con vật ở sân Đền Thờ. Luật quy định các con vật làm của lễ phải lành lặn
không tỳ vết. Có những chức sắc kiểm tra khám xét con vật. Mỗi lần khám xét phải
trả 1/12 siếc-lơ, không được mua vật ở ngoài Đền thờ. Khốn nổi, mỗi con vật mua
trong đền thờ đắt gấp 15 lần ở bên ngoài. Khách hành hương nghèo bị bốc lột
trắng trợn khi muốn dâng lễ vật. Sự bất công này lại càng tệ hại thêm vì nó làm
dưới danh nghĩa tôn giáo.</span></p>

vì những điều ấy đã làm Chúa Giêsu bừng bừng nổi giận. Chúa lấy dây thừng bện
thành roi đánh đuổi tất cả bọn họ cùng với chiên bò ra khỏi đền thờ; còn tiền
của những người đổi bạc, Người đổ tung ra, và lật nhào bàn ghế của họ.</span></p>

Phúc âm hiếm khi ta thấy Chúa Giêsu nổi giận. Ngài bình thản đón lấy nụ hôn phản
bội của Giuđa; lặng lẽ trước những lời cáo gian buộc tội; xin Chúa Cha tha thứ
cho những kẻ đóng đinh mình vì họ không biết việc họ làm. Chính Chúa Giêsu đã
mời gọi chúng ta học lấy nơi Ngài bài học hiền lành và khiêm nhường. Vậy mà ở
đây, Chúa đã nổi giận đùng đùng, lật tung bàn ghế, lấy dây thừng làm roi xua
đuổi tất cả.</span></p>

cảnh đền thờ phải là nơi yên tĩnh, thánh thiêng. Thế mà nay lại ồn ào huyên náo,
mua bán đổi chác, tranh giành, cãi cọ, đôi co như là một cái chợ buôn bán sầm
uất. "Đem tất cả những thứ này ra khỏi đây,đừng biến nhà Cha Ta thành nơi buôn
bán" (Ga 2,16). "Nhà của Ta là nhà cầu nguyện,còn các ngươi làm thành hang trộm
cướp" ( Mt 21,12-13).Chúa Giêsu thất vọng biết bao trong tiếng than thở ấy."Nơi
buôn bán", "Hang trộm cướp", Đền thờ nơi tôn nghiêm thờ phượng Đức Chúa, nay lại
quá bất kính, quá bát nháo khiến Chúa Giêsu phải đau lòng. Lời ngôn sứ Giêrêmia
quở trách dân Do thái xưa đã nên ứng nghiệm ( x Gr 7,11).</span></p>

Đức Kitô, chúng ta đã trở nên đền thờ sống động và đã được cung hiến ngày lãnh
nhận phép Thánh Tẩy. Thánh Phaolô minh định: “Anh em là đền thờ của Thiên Chúa
và Thánh Thần Thiên Chúa ngự trong đền thờ ấy”. Đó là một hồng ân cao cả mà
Thiên Chúa dành cho mỗi tín hữu qua Đức Giêsu Kitô. Thiên Chúa yêu thích ngự nơi
đền thờ tâm hồn chúng ta hơn là đền thờ bằng gỗ đá, dù là gỗ thơm đá quý. Bởi lẽ
đền thờ bằng gỗ đá, dẫu có xinh đẹp và đồ sộ như đền thờ Latêranô đi chăng nữa
thì một ngày kia, cũng sẽ tiêu tan. Không có đền thờ nào đẹp bằng đền thờ
Giêrusalem. Một công trình nguy nga tráng lệ xây cất ròng rã 46 năm. Khi đi qua,
các môn đệ tự hào chỉ cho Chúa Giêsu thấy sự huy hoàng của Đền thờ, nhưng Người
lại nói rằng: sẽ có ngày không còn hòn đá nào trên hòn đá nào. Khi người Do thái
chất vấn: Ông lấy quyền nào mà làm như vậy? Chúa Giêsu bảo: cứ phá Đền thờ này
đi,trong 3 ngày Ta sẽ xây dựng lại. Chúa ám chỉ đến cái chết và sự phục sinh của
Người. Đền thờ ở đây chính là thân thể Đức Giêsu mà mỗi người Kitô hữu là một
viên đá sống động xây dựng nên đền thờ ấy. Thân thể phục sinh của Chúa là đền
thờ mới, nơi con người thờ phượng Thiên Chúa cách đích thực, trong tinh thần và
trong chân lý. Chỉ có Thân thể Chúa Kitô và tâm hồn chúng ta mới là đền thờ vững
bền.</span></p>

niệm ngày cung hiến Vương cung thánh đường Latêranô là dịp suy nghĩ về đền thờ
đích thực, là chính thân thể Đức Giêsu Kitô (Ga 2,21). Chính nơi đền thờ này,
Thiên Chúa đã thi thố tất cả quyền năng cứu độ nhân loại. Cũng chính nơi đền thờ
này sự thờ phượng đích thực mới được dâng lên Thiên Chúa. Quả thế, Thánh Linh đã
phục sinh thân thể Đức Giêsu. Chúa Cha đã đặt Người làm Trung gian duy nhất để
chuyển cầu cho nhân loại (x. 2 Tm 2:5; Dt 9:15; 12:24). Tất cả mọi giá trị và ý
nghĩa của vương cung thánh đường Latêranô cũng như mọi thánh đường khác đều phải
bắt nguồn từ đền thờ này. Thật vậy, “không ai có thể đặt nền móng nào khác ngoài
nền móng đã đặt sẵn là Đức Giêsu Kitô.” (1Cr 3,11). Máu và nước từ cạnh sườn Đức
Giêsu tuôn chảy như giòng sông. “Sông này chảy đến đâu, thì ở đó có sự sống.”
(Ed 47,9). Người được phúc đón nhận sự sống đó là Kitô hữu. Vì họ là “thân thể
Đức Kitô.” (2 Cr 12, 27). Bởi đó, họ cũng là “Đền Thờ của Thiên Chúa.” (1 Cr
3,16).</span></p>
