một người nghèo. Nghèo từ khi sinh ra đến lúc từ giã thế gian để về với Chúa

gian loan báo Tin Mừng, từ lối sống đến hành động, Ngài luôn quan tâm đến
tận cùng kiếp sống con người, nhất là những người khốn khó, bệnh hoạn, tật
nguyền. Nên Đức Giêsu không ngần ngại để sống với những người nghèo hèn, cảm
thông cho những người tội lỗi và ăn uống với họ, đồng thời, luôn coi họ như
những người bạn, sẵn sàng đứng về phía họ để bênh đỡ, chở che.</span></p>

được Đức Giêsu chính thức chúc phúc, và qua đó như một lời mời gọi mọi người
đi theo con đường đó để được hạnh phúc: “Phúc cho các ngươi là những kẻ
nghèo khó, vì nước Thiên Chúa là của các ngươi”.</span></p>

lỗi thời khi cổ súy cho cái nghèo? Hơn nữa, Ngài lại còn mời gọi những ai
muốn đi theo và làm môn đệ cũng phải sống một cuộc sống bần cùng, cơ cực?</span></p>

này, Đức Giêsu muốn cho con người được hạnh phúc hoàn toàn, khi không bị chi
phối bởi lòng ham muốn tiền bạc, vì nếu mê mẩn với chúng thì sẽ trở thành nô
lệ cho tiền bạc.</span></p>

phải là của cải chóng qua đời này mà là cuộc sống mai hậu.</span></p>

<span style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px">Vào năm 1918, tại Mỹ đã xảy ra một
trận địch cúm tàn sát bao nhiêu sinh mạng. Các bác sĩ và y tá tối tăm mặt
mũi vì công việc,tình cảm trong dưỡng đường, bệnh viện thật là thảm hại.
Trong lúc dầu sôi lửa bỏng ấy, các thành viên của một hội thượng lưu ở New
Work quyết đem sức lực ra giúp đồng bào. Họ giàu có và đã lớn tuổi, có thể
chỉ ký một ngân phiếu để giúp bệnh nhân là xong. Nhưng không, họ không những
đã bỏ tiền ra mà tòn tình nguyện khoác áo blou trắng tới bệnh viện cọ sàn,
săn sóc tắm rửa cho các bệnh nhân, vỗ về những gia đình đau khổ mà không
ngại mệt nhọc, cũng không sợ lây bệnh cho chính bản thân.</span></p>

<span style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px">Tin Mừng hôm nay trình bày bốn lời
chúc phúc cho những kẻ nghèo đói, khóc than, bị oán gét, khai trừ, sỉ vả,
kèo theo bốn lời nguyền rủa những người giàu có, no nê, vui cười, được mọi
người ca tụng. Đó là những phản đề đối chiếu giữa người nghèo và kẻ giàu,
giữa người đói khát vả kẻ no đầy. Đó là hai giai cấp trong xã hội luôn đối
chọi nhau mà Tin mừng muốn một tả để người tín hữu Kitô chọn lựa.</span></p>

<span style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px">Một điều rất hiển nhiên là Tin mừng
hướng chúng ta về người xấu số bất hạnh và cho họ niềm hy vọng hạnh phúc ở
tương lai. Tin mừng không hề lên án người giàu chỉ vì họ có nhiều tiền của,
nhưng chỉ lên án những ai giàu có mà không biết sử dụng của cải cho đúng,
thậm chí còn dùng của cải như chướng ngại vật chặn đứng lối vào nước trời.
Giàu có mà hành xử như các thành viên của hội thượng lưu ở New York trong
câu chuyện còn được Chúa chúc phúc. Họ được hưởng hạnh phúc đời này lẫn đời
sau. Bí quyết của họ rất đơn giản, đó chính là biết chia sẻ và trao ban.</span></p>

chung, nhưng lên án cách sử dụng của cải. Tiền bạc tự nó không có giá trị
đạo đức. Nó có thể dùng vào việc tốt cũng như việc xấu. Tự bản chất, của cải
không là những gì xấu xa, và tự bản chất, nghèo khó cũng không phải là nhân
đức.</span></p>

<span style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px">Chỉ “khốn cho người giàu có” khi họ
không phân định rạch ròi giữa phương tiên và cùng đích, giữa điều kiện vận
chất và định mệnh con người. Đời sống của họ bị nhận chìm bởi các con sóng
là các phương tiện vật chất như áo quần, xe cộ, nhà cửa và các tiện nghi
trong cuộc sống. Đời sống của họ bị đè bẹp bởi các hành trang vật chất chỉ
giúp họ duy trì và phát huy sự sống trong cuộc lữ hành ngắn ngủi của một đời
người. Họ quên rằng con người sống nhờ phương tiện nhưng lại sống cho cùng
đích. Và cùng đích của con người là “Hãy tìm kiếm nước Thiên Chúa và đức
công chính của Người, còn tất cả những thứ kia, Người sẽ thêm cho”. Thảm
kịch của cuộc sống chính là lo lắng tìm kiếm phương tiện, và để cho cùng
đích tan biến trong phượng tiện.</span></p>

<span style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px">Chỉ “Khốn cho người giàu có” khi họ
không ý thức rằng họ lệ thuộc rất nhiều vào người khác. Họ mang trong mình
căn bệnh vị kỷ, nên không còn thấy rằng của cải cá nhân là do của cải tập
thể đem lại, họ cũng không nhận ra rằng họ đã thừa hưởng một kho tàng ý
tưởng và các tiến bộ mà người đang sống cũng như kẻ đã chết góp phần tạo
nên. Họ nghĩ rằng mình có thể sống sung túc trong thế giới nhỏ bé chật hẹp
mà họ là trọng tâm. Họ là một con người sống theo chủ nghĩa cá nhân cực
đoan.</span></p>

<span style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px">Dù có ý thức hay không, mỗi người
chúng ta là một con nợ đối với người quen biết cũng như người chưa quen
biết. Vậy chúng ta phải trả món nợ ấy ở đâu? Câu trả lời thật đơn giản: Cho
kẻ đói ăn, cho g trần truồng áo mặc, chăm sóc người đau yếu. Nói như Martin
Luther King: “chúng ta có thể cất giữ số thực phẩm dư thừa của chúng ta
trong các bao tử trống rỗng của hàng triệu con cái Thiên Chúa, khi mỗi tối
họ phải lên giường nằm ngủ mà không có gì để ăn”.</span></p>

<span style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px">Dưới con mắt Chúa, làm giâu một cách
lương thiện không phải là tội, tiêu dùng của cải do mình làm ra không hề là
một điều xấu. Nhưng điềm nhiên hưởng thụ và nhăm mắt làm ngơ trước nỗi khổ
của tha nhân lại là một tội ác. Thiên Chúa đã dựng nên trái tim con người để
rung lên những nhịp đập yêu thương, và tặng ban cho con người đôi tay để mở
ra ban phát. Kẻ nào khóa lại trái tim và nắm chặt đôi tay là đi ngược với
bản tính con người mà Chúa đã tạo dựng. Vì thế, ai sống co cụm trong vỏ ốc
ích kỷ của mình, kẻ ấy có thể rất giàu về tiền của nhưng lại thật nghèo
trong nhân tính.</span></p>

phúc và cái bóng của hạnh phúc; họ mải mê chạy theo cái bóng này, để rồi ma
chóng thất vọng khi nó vỡ tan như bong bóng xà phòng.</span></p>

của cải, hay trong những gì mình đã chiếm hữu, nhưng chính là sữ mãn nguyện
với những gì mình đã trao ban. Thánh Phaolô viết: “Cho đi vui sướng hơn nhận

lời ca tụng hay trong chức tước quyề uy, nhưng chính là sự an bình vui tươi
của một lương tâm thanh thản với Chúa, với anh em, và với chính mình, như
