sung sướng, hạnh phúc, và thông thường sự giầu có, tiền bạc đầy đủ bảo đảm
hạnh phúc cho chúng ta. “Tiền bạc là chìa khóa mở cửa vào cuộc sống hạnh
phúc.” “Có tiền mua tiên cũng được!” Số người mua xổ số càng ngày càng đông,
vì muốn giàu có mau chóng và được sống hạnh phúc.</span></p>

<span style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px">Tuy nhiên, trong thực tế, sự giầu có
tiền bạc không hẳn bảo đảm hạnh phúc cho chúng ta. Theo các thống kê của xã
hội học về vấn đề tự tử thì tỷ lệ người giầu tự tử nhiều hơn người nghèo; tỷ
lệ người tự tử ở các nước tiên tiến , giàu có như Hoa Kỳ và các nước Âu Châu
dẫn đầu các nước khác (xin vào website Suicide để tham khảo). Theo cuộc điều
tra mới đây về những người trúng xổ số và trở nên triệu phú trong giây lát,
hầu như không người nào nhờ đó mà sống hạnh phúc hơn. Vào khoảng đầu năm
2009, thần tài đã đến viếng thăm một ông, và ông đã trúng số 30 triệu; nhưng
chỉ vài tháng sau, ông bị mất tích. Bà mẹ ông thì cho rằng ông sống ẩn dật ở
đâu đó, còn cảnh sát thì suy đoán ông đã bị giết, đã phải đổi mạng sống của
ông vì tấm vé số trúng. Trong thực tế có nhiều người trúng số lớn, đã mất
hẳn cuộc sống tự do lúc bình thường, vì cứ lo bị ‘bắt cóc’, nên đi đâu, ở
đâu cũng lo sợ; ngoài ra, còn bị rầy rà vì bao nhiêu bạn bè, bà con thăm hỏi
và xin giúp đỡ, nên phải rút vào cuộc sống “ẩn dật” cho yên thân. Chắc chúng
ta còn nhớ câu chuyện ngụ ngôn của La Fontaine về “Ông Phú Hộ” đêm đêm mất
ngủ vì cứ phải lo tính tiền bạc và sự làm ăn sao cho khỏi thua lỗ và được
giầu có thêm mãi. Trái lại, người thợ đóng giầy ngủ nhờ dưới chân cầu thang
của nhà ông thì đêm nào, khi đi làm về cũng húyt sáo vui vẻ, rồi đi ngủ ngon
một giấc đến sáng để lại bắt đầu một ngày mới. Ông phú hộ liền đem tặng cho
ông ta một túi tiền. Thế là từ ngày đó, ông ta không còn ngủ yên như trước,
vì đêm nằm cũng lo sợ bị mất trộm túi tiền, và khi đi làm cũng vẫn phải lo
giữ túi tiền. Ông ta cảm thấy cuộc sống không còn bình an, thanh thản như
trước. Và ông ta đã quyết định trả lại ông phú hộ túi tiền để được trở lại
cuộc sống nghèo khó nhưng bình yên hạnh phúc hơn.</span></p>

<span style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px">Trong Bài Phúc Âm Chúa Nhật này,
thường được gọi “Tám Mối Phúc Thật”, Chúa Giêsu có vẻ như đã đi ngược đời,
nói đến hạnh phúc không phải cho người giầu có, quyền thế, ăn no mặc ấm…
nhưng là cho những người nghèo khó, đói khát, đau khổ, bệnh tật, bị bách
hại, phỉ báng, đánh đập tàn nhẫn (như những Giáo sĩ, Giáo dân đang bị bách
hại tại Việt Nam, Mã Lai , Trung Quốc, Bắc Hàn, ở Trung Đông và Phi Châu…
chẳng hạn). Quả thật là ngược đời hết sức! Nhưng trong Bài Đọc I hôm nay,
Thiên Chúa đã soi sáng cho chúng ta biết, qua tiên tri Giêrêmia: con đường
hạnh phúc thật là “biết đặt mọi niềm tin tưởng nơi Chúa, lấy Chúa làm tất
cả, lấy Chúa làm nơi tựa nương tuyệt đối. Những người đó được sống hạnh phúc
thật. Họ giống như cây được trồng bên bờ suối, đâm rể sâu vào đất ẩm ướt;
không sợ gì, khi mùa hè đến, lá vẫn xanh tươi; không sợ gì, khi nắng hạn,
vẫn sinh hoa kết trái!”</span></p>

chúng ta, đã không mở đường hạnh phúc cho chúng ta bằng sự giàu sang, quyền
qúy; nhưng bằng cuộc sống nghèo khó của chính Ngài, và trong thời gian đi
rao giảng Phúc Âm Tình thương, lo cho những người nghèo khổ, bệnh tật, tội
lỗi, lại thường xuyên bị chống đối, ghét bỏ, thù hận. Cuối cùng lại chấp
nhận bị bắt, bị hành hạ, sỉ nhục và chết trên Thập Giá, táng xuống mồ, rồi
mới sống lại và về Trời để mở đường hạnh phúc Nước Trời cho chúng ta. Nếu
chúng ta không tuyệt đối tin tưởng như vậy; nếu chúng ta chỉ hy vọng vào
Chúa Giêsu Kitô trong cuộc đời này mà thôi; nếu chúng ta chỉ đặt hạnh phúc
vào sự giàu sang, quyền quý và tự do mọi sự ở đời này, thì chúng ta sẽ là
những kẻ vô phúc nhất thiên hạ! (Như Thánh Phaolô nói với chúng ta trong Bài
Đọc II hôm nay).</span></p>

cũng chỉ lo rao giảng Tin Mừng hạnh phúc thật cho mọi người, giúp đỡ người
bệnh hoạn, người đang ở các trại phong cùi (như ở Việt Nam hiện nay), mở
mang văn hóa cho các dân tộc, loan truyền ơn cứu độ, con đường đưa đến hạnh
phúc thật đời đời. Nhưng như Chúa Giêsu Kitô, trong mọi nơi, mọi thời, Giáo
Hội cũng luôn bị bách hại, phỉ báng, lăng nhục. Tuy nhiên, từ những Hoàng Đế
Rôma tàn bạo như Neron đến các bạo chúa thời nay như Hitler, Lenin, Stalin,
Mao Trạch Đông v.v… tất cả đều đã trở về với cát bụi, nhưng Giáo Hội Chúa
vẫn trường tồn và phát triển.</span></p>

hãy: “Yêu thương mọi người, làm ơn cho những ai ghét bỏ chúng ta, chúc lành
cho những người nguyền rủa chúng ta, và cầu nguyện cho những người vu khống
cho chúng ta những điều gian ác.” (Lc. 6,27…). Đó là con đường yêu thương,
