Câu chuyện trong bài Tin Mừng hôm nay là câu chuyện của một gia đình.
Một gia đình có một người cha và hai người con. Về phương diện xã hội ta
thấy đây là một gia đình thành đạt. Thế nhưng sự thành đạt đã không đủ
sức để tạo nên sự tin tưởng yêu thương trong gia đình.</span></p>

1. Người cha và hai người con.</span></i></b></p>

Người cha trong xã hội Do Thái là người cha đầy uy quyền. Ông là người
chủ sự các giờ kinh và có những quyết định mà con cái phải vâng theo.
Tắt một lời đây là người thay mặt Thiên Chúa trong việc cai quản, chăm
sóc và lo lắng cho gia đình. </span></p>

Người cha trong câu chuyện hôm nay là một người tài giỏi. Sự thành đạt
của gia đình này phải nói là do công sức của ông. Ông đã xây dựng được
gia đình có thế giá trong xã hội. Thế nhưng gia đình này vẫn chưa có
được sự tin tưởng và yêu thương nhau như những điều kiện cần thiết để
cho gia đình có được nhiều niềm vui và hạnh phúc. </span></p>

Hai người con: Cả hai người con trong câu chuyện hôm nay đều là những
người không có được sự hiểu biết rõ ràng về người cha của mình. Chính sự
thiếu hiểu biết này đã đem đến những hệ luỵ không được tốt đẹp lắm cho
gia đình. Người con thứ đã bỏ nhà ra đi. Sự ra đi của nó đã tạo nên một
sự nhớ nhung mênh mông trong lòng của người cha nhưng người cha cứ sẵn
lòng chịu vậy cho tới khi nó thân tàn ma dại quay đầu trở về. </span>

Người con cả cũng chẳng hiểu biết rõ cha của mình. Trong đầu óc của nó,
người cha dường như chẳng quan tâm gì tới sự có mặt của nó trong gia
đình mặc dù nó đã hết lòng chu toàn mọi bổn phận như một đứa con thảo
hiếu. Hơn thế, nó còn cảm thấy thua thiệt khi người cha đối xử quảng đại
với em của nó. Chính vì thế mà nó đã không bằng lòng với cách đối xử của
người cha khi ông hoan hỉ đón nhận người con thứ trở về.</span></p>

Tóm lại, cả hai người con đều chẳng có người nào hiểu rõ về cha của
mình. Chính sự thiếu hiểu biết đó đã đưa đến những cách ứng xứ không
được đẹp trong tương quan cha-con, huynh-đệ trong gia đình làm cho gia
đình không được hạnh phúc.</span></p>

Có thể nói qua câu chuyện trong bài Tin Mừng hôm nay chúng ta có thể rút
ra được một bài học rất cần thiết cho cuộc sống làm người cũng như làm
con Thiên Chúa. Bài học đó chính là sự <b><i>thiếu hiểu biết về nhau và
về Thiên Chúa.</i></b></span></p>

a. Trong cuộc sống làm người sự thiếu hiểu biết về nhau nhiều khi đã đưa
đến những chuyện đau lòng khó lường.</span></p>

Quan hệ giữa một cô gái trẻ và mẹ chồng luôn ở trong tình trạng căng
thẳng. Cô gái cảm thấy mẹ chồng luôn muốn đối đầu với cô, luôn muốn gây
khó dễ cho cô. Trong đầu cô luôn nghĩ cách đối phó với mẹ chồng.</span></p>

chồng tôi không? Tôi không thể nào chịu đựng nổi sự ngược đãi của bà ấy.</span></p>

Mỗi ngày trước bữa ăn cô cho mẹ chồng uống một viên. Chỉ có điều khi đưa
thuốc cho mẹ chồng uống, cô phải giả vờ tỏ ra là một con dâu hiền thảo,
để mẹ chồng khỏi nghi ngờ. Ba tháng sau, mẹ chồng cô sẽ thay đổi.</span></p>

- Từ khi tôi nghe theo lời bác sỹ, mỗi ngày trước bữa ăn, tôi lễ phép
đưa thuốc cho mẹ chồng uống. Sau một thời gian, thái độ của mẹ chồng đối
với tôi bỗng thay đổi. Bà ấy trở nên rất thân thiện với tôi. Hơn nữa còn
giành việc để làm, để cho tôi nghỉ ngơi nhiều hơn, quan tâm chăm sóc tôi
giống như mẹ đẻ. Vì thế, tôi muốn cứu mẹ chồng tôi.</span></p>

- "Bùn chua" thực ra là một loại thuốc giúp người ta ăn ngon miệng. Vì
cô đưa thuốc cho mẹ chồng với thái độ vui vẻ lễ phép nên mẹ chồng cô cảm
kích trước hành động hiếu thuận này của cô, đồng thời bắt đầu đối xử tốt
với cô. Cô nên nhớ rằng, muốn người khác đối xử với mình như thế nào,
thì trước tiên phải đối xử với người khác như thế ấy.</span></p>

b. Đối với Thiên Chúa cũng vậy. Sự thiếu hiểu biết về Thiên Chúa đã làm
cho bao người mất đi nhiều niềm vui và hạnh phúc cho cuộc đời mình.</span></p>

Một vị tướng lãnh người Mỹ, khi nói về tôn giáo thì tỏ vẻ nhạo báng,
khinh bỉ. Ngược lại, bà vợ của ông ta thì khá đạo đức. Ngay từ đầu bà đã
thành công trong việc in vào trí óc đứa con gái duy nhất - mà cả hai
đều yêu thương đậm đà - tình yêu đối với Thiên Chúa và tôn giáo, mặc dù
nó bị ảnh hưởng không tốt từ người cha. Rồi một hôm em bé bỗng đau nặng.
Tình trạng của em ngày càng nặng làm cả nhà thất vọng. </span></p>

- Ba, Ba yêu quý của con - em nói- trong vài giờ nữa con sẽ chết. Con
xin ba nói cho con biết con phải tin cái gì, tin vào ai, hay là tin vào
những gì má nói cho con biết về Thiên Chúa và về Nước Trời?</span></p>

Vị tướng bị giao động mạnh, nước mắt chảy quanh tròng, ông trả lời:</span></p>

- Như vậy Ba cũng phải tin vào Thiên Chúa chứ?</span></p>

Đây là câu hỏi Lôgích của em. Và người cha đã không bao giờ quên lời cầu
xin cuối cùng này của đứa con gái. Ông trở về lại với Giáo hội mà ông đã
từ bỏ từ lâu và ông thực cảm thấy hạnh phúc trăm lần hơn trước.</span></p>
