Trong ngày lễ kính thánh Phêrô và thánh Phaolô,</span></p>

chúng ta được mời gọi chiêm ngắm hai khuôn mặt, rất khác nhau mà cũng
rất giống nhau.</span></p>

Phêrô, một người đánh cá ít học, đã lập gia đình.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent: 48px">

Ông theo Thầy Giêsu ngay từ buổi đầu sứ vụ.</span></p>

Còn Phaolô là người có nhiều điều để tự hào, về gia thế, về học thức, về
đời sống đạo hạnh.</span></p>

Ông chưa hề gặp mặt Đức Giêsu khi Ngài còn sống.</span></p>

Nhưng hai ông có nhiều nét tương đồng.</span></p>

Cả hai đều được Đức Giêsu gọi.</span></p>

Phêrô được gọi khi ông đang thả lưới bắt cá nuôi vợ con.</span></p>

Phaolô được gọi khi ông hung hăng tiến vào Đamát.</span></p>

Cả hai đã từ bỏ tất cả để theo Ngài.</span></p>

Tất cả của Phêrô là gia đình và nghề nghiệp.</span></p>

Tất cả của Phaolô là những gì ông cậy dựa vênh vang.</span></p>

Bỏ tất cả là chấp nhận bấp bênh, tay trắng.</span></p>

Cả hai đều đã từng có lần vấp ngã.</span></p>

Vấp ngã bất ngờ sau khi theo Thầy như Phêrô,</span></p>

trong một phút giây quá tự tin vào sức mình.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent: 48px">

Ngã ngựa bất ngờ và trở nên mù lòa như Phaolô,</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent: 48px">
<span style="font-size: 14.0pt; line-height: 107%; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif">
trong lúc tưởng mình sáng mắt và đi đúng hướng.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent: 48px">

Vấp ngã nào cũng đau và in một dấu không phai.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent: 48px">

Vấp ngã bẻ lái đưa con người đi vào hướng mới.</span></p>

Phêrô và Phaolô đều yêu Đức Giêsu cách nồng nhiệt,</span></p>

<span style="font-size: 14.0pt; line-height: 107%; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif">
vì họ cảm nhận sâu xa mình được Ngài yêu.</span></p>

"Này anh Simon, anh có mến Thầy không?</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent: 48px">
<span style="font-size: 14.0pt; line-height: 107%; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif">
Thưa Thầy có, Thầy biết con yêu mến Thầy." (Ga 21,16)</span></p>

<span style="font-size: 14.0pt; line-height: 107%; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif">
Cả Phaolô cũng yêu Đấng ông chưa hề chung sống,</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-indent: 48px">
<span style="font-size: 14.0pt; line-height: 107%; font-family: 'Times New Roman',serif">
vì Ngài là "Con Thiên Chúa, Đấng đã yêu mến tôi và hiến mạng vì tôi."
(Gl 2, 20).</span></p>

Phaolô đã không ngần ngại khẳng định:</span></p>

Không gì có thể tách được chúng ta ra khỏi Tình Yêu của Đức Kitô (x. Rm

Tình yêu Đức Kitô là linh hồn của đời truyền giáo,</span></p>

vì nói cho cùng truyền giáo chính là giúp người khác nhận ra và yêu mến</span></p>

Đấng đã yêu tôi và yêu cả nhân loại.</span></p>

Cả hai vị tông đồ đều hăng say rao giảng,</span></p>

bất chấp muôn vàn nguy hiểm khổ đau.</span></p>

Phêrô đã từng chịu đòn vọt ngục tù (x. Cv 5,40).</span></p>

Còn nỗi đau của Phaolô thì không sao kể xiết (x. 2C 11, 23-28).</span></p>

"Tôi mang trên mình tôi những thương tích của Đức Giêsu" (Gl 6, 1-7)</span></p>

Cả hai vị đã chết như Thầy. Phêrô bị dẫn đến nơi ông chẳng muốn (x. Ga
21, 18).</span></p>

Phaolô đã chiến đấu anh dũng cho đến cùng, và đã đổ máu ra làm lễ tế (x.
2Tm 4, 6).</span></p>

Hội Thánh hôm nay vẫn cần những Phêrô và Phaolô mới,</span></p>

dám bỏ, dám theo và dám yêu dám sống và dám chết cho Đức Kitô và Tin
Mừng.</span></p>

Hội Thánh vẫn cần những chiếc cột và những tảng đá.</span></p>

Lạy Chúa, chúng con không hiểu tại sao Chúa chọn Simon,</span></i></p>

một người đánh cá ít học và đã lập gia đình, để làm vị Giáo Hoàng đầu

Chúa xây dựng Giáo Hội trên một tảng đá mong manh,</span></i></p>

để ai nấy ngất ngây trước quyền năng của Chúa.</span></i></p>

Hôm nay Chúa cũng gọi chúng con theo Chúa, sống cho Chúa,</span></i></p>

đặt Chúa lên trên mọi sự: gia đình, sự nghiệp, người yêu.</span></i></p>

Chúng con chẳng thể nào từ chối viện cớ mình kém đức kém tài.</span></i></p>

Chúa đưa chúng con đi xa hơn, đến những nơi bất ngờ, vì Chúa cần chúng
