Mầu nhiệm Một Thiên Chúa Ba Ngôi là mầu nhiệm cao cả nhất mà Chúa Giêsu đã
mặc khải cho nhân loại. Đã hơn hai ngàn năm, nhiều học giả đã cố gắng đưa ra
những ví dụ để giải thích như: ngọn đèn, ánh sáng và sức nóng cùng trong một
cái đèn; ba cạnh ba góc bằng nhau trong một tam giác đều; ba đốt trong một
ngón tay… nhưng tất cả chỉ là loại suy khập khiễng. Bởi vì đi tìm hiểu mầu
nhiệm Thiên Chúa Ba Ngôi thì cũng như một đứa trẻ dùng cái vỏ sò múc nước
biển đổ vào một cái hang con còng với hi vọng làm cạn nước biển (x. Giai
thoại của thánh Augustino). Nghĩa là trí óc con người bé nhỏ không thể nào
tri hiểu được mầu nhiệm bao la vô hạn. Con người chỉ biết rằng, từ đời đời
Chúa Cha đã đản sinh ra Chúa Con và Tình Yêu giữa hai ngôi dành cho nhau đã
nhiệm xuy ra Chúa Thánh Thần, sự yêu nhau và hướng về nhau này đến độ duy
nhất (Một Chúa ba Ngôi). Và vì thiêng liêng nên không thuộc thời gian và
không gian, nên không thể có một cột mốc thời gian có từ lúc nào, vì vậy mà
Ba Ngôi có cùng một lúc hiện hữu.</span></p>

Chúa Nhật sau Lễ Hiện Xuống được chọn để mừng Lễ Chúa Ba Ngôi đã được cử
hành vào thế kỷ thứ bảy. Lễ kính Mầu Nhiệm Thiên Chúa Ba Ngôi chiếm một chỗ
xác định trong lịch phụng vụ, cuộc cử hành nầy dần dần được xem như một ngày
lễ đặc biệt. Kể từ thế kỷ thứ X, có khá nhiều nhà thờ cử hành thánh lễ nầy
một cách long trọng. Vào năm 1334, Đức Giáo Hoàng Gioan XXII chuẩn nhận việc
cử hành nầy ở Rô-ma và mở rộng đến Giáo Hội hoàn vũ.</span></p>

Trong cách nhìn nhân loại, ai trong chúng ta nếu chỉ có một đứa con trai duy
nhất, thì chúng ta sẽ coi nó như là tất cả của đời mình, của cả cuộc sống

bằng mọi giá phải bảo vệ nó, và chỉ chấp nhận san sẻ khi cho đứa con xây

Trong mầu nhiệm Thiên Chúa, Chúa Cha đã đản sinh ra Chúa Con, và Chúa Con là
đứa Con Duy Nhất của Chúa Cha từ đời đời. Nhiều lần Chúa Giêsu trong lời cầu
nguyện đã thân thưa rằng: Con yêu Cha và như Cha đã yêu Con… Và vì yêu
thương con người, Chúa Cha đã cho đứa Con Duy Nhất của mình đến với thế gian</span></p>

Tình yêu của Thiên Chúa được thể hiện qua hành vi tự hiến của Thiên Chúa
Cha: “Thiên Chúa yêu thế gian đến nỗi đã ban Con Một…” (Ga 3,16a). Từ “đến
nỗi” ở đây cho thấy Thiên Chúa yêu đến tột cùng, yêu “đến nỗi” không còn gì
để diễn tả, để trao ban hơn được nữa, vì thế chỉ còn cách duy nhất là trao
ban chính Con của mình đến để diễn tả tình yêu cho nhân loại bằng chính cái
chết mà thôi.</span></p>

Nơi cái chết của Đức Giêsu – Con Thiên Chúa là chính Thiên Chúa. Ngài đã ban
và sai Con của Ngài đến vì yêu thương toàn thể nhân loại, để họ được cứu độ.
Tình yêu của Thiên Chúa có một cường độ và mộtchiều kích to lớn đến nỗi, nếu
có thể, hẳn ta phải nói: Thiên Chúa yêu thương thế gian, yêu thương chúng
ta, hơn chính Con của Ngài. Ngài không bỏ mặc thế gian, mà lại còn ban cho
chúng ta món quà là Người Con vẫn sống trong một tương quan duy nhất với
Ngài.</span></p>

Chỉ khi chúng ta xác tín rằng Đấng chịu đóng đinh là Con Một, Con yêu dấu
của Thiên Chúa, thì quyền năng của tình yêu này của Thiên Chúa mới có thể
thực sự đến với chúng ta và chúng ta mới có thể hoàn toàn mở ra với ánh sáng
và sức nóng của Người. Đời sống chúng ta tùy thuộc đức tin của chúng ta.</span></p>

Nhưng, tại sao Thiên Chúa yêu thế gian lại trao ban Con Một đến để chịu chết
mà cứu độ?</span></p>

Bởi vì tình yêu cần đến sự ở với nhau, cần chính thân thể của nhau và trao
ban cho nhau, nhất là dám chết cho người mình yêu. Nếu Chúa Giêsu ở trên
trời nói vọng xuống rằng: “Thiên Chúa yêu con người” thì liệu con người có
cảm nhận được tình yêu không; nhưng chắc chắn họ sẽ cảm nhận được tình yêu
khi Con Một Thiên Chúa đến ở với con người, hi sinh để cứu con người và trao
ban chính mình cho họ.</span></p>

Lại nữa, loài người đã phạm tội xúc phạm đến Thiên Chúa là Đấng Tuyệt Đối
nên tự loài người không thể tự đền được sự xúc phạm này cách cân xứng, nên
cần tới Đấng là Con Thiên Chúa tuyệt đối thánh thiện mới có thể đền thay
cách tương xứng. Giống như dân đen xúc phạm đến vua thì mang tội chết, phải
cần đến thái tử của vua mới có khả năng xin phụ hoàng tha thứ cho người mà
thái tử yêu được.</span></p>

Tình yêu chân chính là mong sao người mình yêu được hạnh phúc hơn cả bản
thân mình. Thật vậy, Thiên Chúa yêu thế gian cách tuyệt đối và mong sao cho
chúng ta được hưởng niềm hạnh phúc tuyệt đối là được vào ở trong tình yêu
của Thiên Chúa. Bởi vì: “Thiên Chúa sai Con của Người đến thế gian, không
phải để lên án thế gian, nhưng là để thế gian, nhờ Con của Người, mà được
cứu độ” Ga 3,17).</span></p>

Đức Kitô đã đến với tư cách là Đấng Cứu Độ chứ không là Thẩm Phán: Ngài dẫn
đưa con người đến “sự sống đời đời.” Sự sống đời đời, theo Tin Mừng Gioan,

Mục tiêu của sứ mạng Chúa Con đảm nhận khi được gửi vào trần gian: không
phải để lên án, nhưng để cứu độ. Thế nhưng, dù điều duy nhất Thiên Chúa
muốn, đó là cứu độ thế gian; nhưng biến cố Con của Người đến cũng nhất thiết
đưa loài người đến chỗ phải lấy quyết định; quyết định trọng yếu nhất của
đời người, là gắn bó với Con Một Thiên Chúa bằng đức tin, hoặc ngược lại, từ

Thiên Chúa đã khởi xướng trước, Người đã “yêu thương đầu tiên”. Mọi sáng
kiến đến từ phía Người. Nhưng để có tình yêu, nếu chỉ có lời tuyên bố, bày
tỏ, trước những bước, dấu chỉ từ một trong hai phía chưa đủ mà phải có sự
tương ứng, đón nhận, đáp trả. Đức tin là lời đáp lại của con người đối với
lời tỏ bày tình yêu của Thiên Chúa.</span></p>

Chúa Giêsu nói rõ cho chúng ta biết, ý Thiên Chúa Cha muốn mọi người chúng

được mãi mãi chiêm ngưỡng thánh nhan Người và được sống lại trong ngày sau

vào Chúa Giêsu Kitô. Nên dù mặc nhiên hay minh nhiên, không qua Đức Giêsu

Cái được mất của đức tin ấy vô cùng quan trọng: vấn đề là chết hay sống: “Ai
tin thì khỏi phải chết nhưng được sống muôn đời”. Hoặc người ta chấp nhận
“sự ban cho của Thiên Chúa” và đi đến sự sống muôn đời là đặc tính của Thiên
Chúa hoặc người ta ở lại với nhân tính của mình và dĩ nhiên là phải chết.
Không thể có thái độ nghiêng ngả quanh co. Phải nói “có” hoặc “không” trước
sự ban cho của Thiên Chúa. </span></p>

Chúa Giêsu cho thấy rằng đức tin phải dựa trên bằng chứng tình yêu mà Thiên
Chúa đã ban cho chúng ta khi sai phái Con của Ngài đến. Cuộc tái sinh bởi
Thiên Chúa và lòng tin vào Con Thiên Chúa đưa chúng ta đạt tới ý nghĩa và sự
viên mãn của cuộc sống chúng ta, đưa đến sự sống đích thực không qua đi. </span></p>

Mặc nhiên hay minh nhiên, không qua Đức Giêsu Kitô thì không thể vào Nước
Thiên Chúa. Nghĩa là hết những ai qua tôn giáo của họ hoặc qua tiếng lương
tâm mà ăn ở tốt lành thánh thiện thì mặc nhiên ở trong Đức Kitô (được rửa
tội “bằng lửa”). Cũng thế, những ai dám hy sinh tính mạng vì niềm tin hoặc
vì Đức Ái, thì dù chưa được lãnh nhận bí tích rửa tội, thì cũng mặc nhiên ở
trong Đức Kitô toàn thể (rửa tội “bằng máu”). </span></p>
