gian dân do thái bị lưu đày bên Babylon, không còn Đền thờ, không còn
các lễ nghi, các tư tế và luật sĩ sợ đức tin của dân bị phai lạt nên đã
nhấn mạnh rất nhiều vào những hình thức đạo đức như ăn chay, cầu nguyện,
bố thí. Đáng tiếc là vì quá nhấn mạnh đến hình thức, họ sao nhãng phương
diện tinh thần. Khi dân do thái từ chốn lưu đày trở về, cách sống đạo
của họ cũng nặng phần hình thức.</font></span></p>

nơi nhiều người môn đệ Chúa : Tại sao đức tin của họ không lớn mạnh lên

sống của họ trong những lúc gian nan, chứ đừng nói chi đến nâng đỡ người

Mừng, Chúa Giêsu bảo chúng ta hãy làm ngọn đèn chiếu sáng trước mặt
thiên hạ. Còn trong bài đọc I, ngôn sứ Isaia dạy chúng ta cách nào để
cho đời mình thành đèn chiếu sáng : cách tiêu cực là không khinh bỉ
người khác, loại bỏ những tranh chấp, hăm dọa, nói xấu… ; cách tích cực
là chia cơm cho kẻ đói, chia áo cho người nghèo, làm cho người đau khổ
được hạnh phúc… Và Isaia bảo đảm : "Như thế, sự sáng của ngươi sẽ tỏa
