Sinh, khi hiện ra với các Tông đồ, đã trao sứ vụ của Người lại cho
Giáo hội: “Như Cha đã sai Thầy, Thầy sai anh em” (Ga 20,21). “Nói
xong, Người thổi hơi vào các ông và bảo: Anh em hay nhận lấy Thánh
Thần” (Ga 20,22).</span></font></li>

Chúa Giêsu đã trao sứ vụ truyền giáo lại cho chúng ta, và Người cũng đã
ban Chúa Thánh Thần cho chúng ta, cho tất cả chúng ta, không trừ một ai,
cho mọi thành viên của Giáo hội, mọi người đã chịu Phép Rửa và trở thành
môn đệ của Chúa.</span></p>

truyền giáo, chưa xác tín về sứ mạng, chưa đón nhận sứ mạng từ nơi
Chúa. Dịp Đại hội Truyền giáo của Giáo phận Sài Gòn hôm nay, chúng
ta hãy nhắc lại cho nhau lệnh truyền của Chúa:</span></font></li>

– “Anh em hãy đi khắp tứ phương thiên hạ, loan báo Tin Mừng cho mọi loài
thụ tạo. Ai tin và chịu phép rửa sẽ được cứu độ” (Mc 16,15-16).</span></p>

– “Chúa Kitô phải chịu khổ hình, rồi ngày thư ba, từ cõi chết sống lại

giáo, thấy nội dung sứ vụ mà Chúa Giêsu trao cho Giáo hội.</span></font></li>

Trước hết, truyền giáo là loan báo Tin Mừng về tình yêu của Thiên Chúa
như chính Chúa Giêsu đã làm. Ngài không những đã hăng say loan báo tình
yêu của Thiên Chúa cho mọi người Ngài gặp gỡ, mà còn hy sinh mạng sống
để làm chứng cho tình yêu đó. Hơn thế nữa, Ngài mạc khải tình yêu đó,
nhập thể tình yêu đó nơi chính bản thân mình. Ngài là hiện thân của Tình
Yêu Thiên Chúa. Nơi Ngài tình yêu đó đã chiến thắng tội lỗi và sự chết.
Vì thế sứ điệp Tin Mừng Nước Thiên Chúa trở thành Tin Mừng Phục Sinh,
Niềm Hy vọng cho toàn thể nhân loại.</span></p>

bằng việc gầy dựng những cộng đoàn các môn đệ của Chúa. Rồi mạnh dạn
thúc đẩy các cộng đoàn ấy “làm chứng cho Chúa” hoặc bằng lời nói,
hay bằng những việc lành, bằng chính đời sống huynh đệ, đời sống bác
ái yêu thương, như lời Chúa dạy: “Cứ dấu này, người ta nhận biết anh
em là môn đệ của Thầy là anh em yêu thương nhau” (Ga 13,35).</span></li>

khuôn với những cách làm của cha ông, vì sứ vụ của chúng ta là đưa
Tin Mừng của Chúa vào các môi trường khác nhau của xã hội hôm nay.
Có những môi trường rất khó thâm nhập, mặc dù chính những nơi ấy rất
cần những hạt giống Tin Mừng, như môi trường giáo dục, môi trường y
tế, môi trường kinh doanh, môi trường xã hội đen, môi trường của
những con người khốn khổ…, cả môi trường chính trị nữa.</span></font></li>

Chúng ta không truyền giáo bằng cách áp đặt, cưỡng chế những người khác
theo chúng ta. Chúng ta cũng không mua chuộc bằng tiền của, hay bằng
quyền lợi, bằng những hứa hẹn. Chúng ta cũng không dụ dỗ, như người ta
dụ dỗ vị thành niên.</span></p>

là thuyết phục. Chúng ta giới thiệu Chúa Giêsu cho những người chúng
ta gặp. Chúng ta đừng sợ: sự nhút nhát của chúng ta có hậu quả rất
lớn. Nhiều người mất cơ hội để biết Chúa. Hãy mạnh dạn như anh em
Tin Lành. Họ ít khi bỏ lỡ cơ hội để nói về Chúa.</span></font></li>

Một thống kê khá chính xác ở Trung Quốc cho thấy một sự khác biệt quá
lớn giữa sự dấn thân truyền giáo của anh em Tin Lành và người Công Giáo:
năm 1815, cách đây gần 200 năm, số người công giáo ở Trung Quốc là
215.000 người, số người Tin lành chỉ có 20 người. Hơn 10.000 người Công
giáo mới có 1 người Tin Lành. Nhưng thống kê năm 2006 cho biết ở Trung
Quốc có 12 triệu người Công giáo, và có tới 36 triệu người Tin Lành, có
nghĩa là 3 người Tin Lành mới có 1 người Công giáo.</span></p>

Mừng, phần còn lại Chúa Thánh Thần sẽ bổ túc cho, vì Chúa Thánh Thần
mới là tác nhân chính của việc truyền giáo. Ngài sẽ làm những việc
lớn lao mà chúng ta không ngờ, miễn là chúng ta tự nguyện trở nên
khí cụ trong tay Ngài. Chính Chúa Giêsu, khi hứa ban Thánh Thần cho
các môn đệ đã nói về sứ mạng làm chứng của Chúa Thánh Thần: “Người
là Thần Khí sự thật phát xuất từ Cha. Người sẽ làm chứng về Thầy. Cả
anh em nữa, anh em cũng làm chứng, vì anh em ở với Thầy ngay từ đầu”
(Ga 15, 26-27).</span></li>

Giêsu, khi chúng ta có “ở với Người”, gần gũi với Người, mặc dù
chúng ta không thấy Người. Chính vì thế mà đời sống cầu nguyện rất
cần thiết để chúng ta có thể loan báo Tin Mừng. Tất cả chúng ta đều
là những con người yếu đuối tội lỗi, hãy cầu nguyện cách khiêm
nhường như người thu thuế (Publicano) trong Tin Mừng Luca hôm nay,
chắc chắn Thiên Chúa sẽ nhậm lời chúng ta, vì như sách Huấn Ca viết:
“Lời cầu nguyện của kẻ khiêm nhường vọng lên tới các từng mây” (Hc
35,16).</span></font></li>

Hãy làm sao để có thể nói được ít nhất là một phần nào như Phaolô: “Chúa
đã phù hộ cha và ban sức mạnh cho cha, để nhờ cha mà lời rao giảng được
