một chuỗi những phán quyết của Đức Giêsu hơi bất thường, được nối kết giữa
những phán quyết này với những phán quyết kia nhờ những từ mốc nối (“mức
độ”, “mắt”, “cây”, “miệng”, “nhà”). Sự lặp đi lặp lại những từ thường được
gọi là “tiếng này gợi lại tiếng kia”, là một cách thức được sử dụng trong
các nền văn minh truyền khẩu, không có chữ viết, để ghi nhớ một số lời nói
nào đó. Nhờ đó, ta mới có một bằng chứng tốt về sự nắm giữ Lời Chúa Giêsu mà
các thế hệ đầu tiên của Kitô giáo đã bảo trì, không phải ở trong “sách vở”,
nhưng ở trong “ký ức và trong lòng họ”.</span></p>

dạy: anh em hãy tỏ ra sáng suốt đối với chính mình. Anh em biết phòng ngừa

những vị có trách nhiệm hay các người anh em khác dễ dàng … Vậy anh em hãy
nhìn kỹ vào đời sống riêng tư của mình cách sâu xa hơn … Hãy mở to mắt trên
chính mình! Hãy tự phê bình mình trước đi.</span></p>

giả hình khi mở miệng phẩm bình kẻ khác.</span></p>

nhiều lần nhắc nhở kẻ khác, nếu ta cùng mau mắn cải thiện mình, đồng nhịp

quyền làm điều này … Các nghiệp đoàn đã không thực hiện việc kia … Giá kể
các chủ nhân tăng cường hơn ở lãnh vực này … Giá kể các thợ thuyền tích cực
hơn ở vấn đề đó … Nếu các Cha sở đã làm việc tốt hơn … Nếu chồng tôi khá hơn
ở điểm này … Nếu những người lối xóm của tôi …</span></p>

thiêng liêng phản ánh tinh thần Tin Mừng rất cao: đó là đặt lại vấn đề về
chính mình, là ngắm lại, nhìn lại đời sống cá nhân và những dấn thân riêng
tư của mình. Nhưng thay vì duyệt xét lại đời sống của mình, ta lại chỉ nhắm
đến việc phẩm bình kẻ khác; thì đó là một bức hí họa đáng ghét!</span></p>
