một danh tướng thời Chiến Quốc – thời trai trẻ từng đọc rất nhiều binh thư.
Là một người khá thông minh, thích nói về quân sự, người khác không nói lại
được, cha anh là Triệu Xa đôi khi cũng không tranh luận nổi với anh. Do đó,
anh tỏ ra kiêu ngạo, tự cho mình là giỏi nhất thiên hạ.</em></span></p>

cho con mình, ông cho rằng Triệu Quát chẳng qua chỉ “nói phét”. Ông còn nói:
“Sau này nước Triệu không nên dùng nó, kẻo nó sẽ làm cho quân Triệu đại

vua Triệu quyết định cử Triệu Quát thay thế Liêm Pha. Lạn Tương Như đang
bệnh cũng phản đối: “Triệu Quát chẳng qua chỉ là đọc được một số sách binh
thư của cha mình, căn bản không biết vận dụng thế nào, không thể cử hắn làm
tướng”. Mẹ của Triệu Quát cũng đến gặp vua Triệu nói rằng con mình không thể
làm đại tướng.</em></span></p>

cả hai lại không sa xuống hố?” (Lc 6,39). Làm nhà lãnh đạo hay người hướng
dẫn phải có đủ tài đức; phải sáng suốt trong tư tưởng, khôn ngoan trong lời
nói, và liêm chính trong việc làm, để khỏi dẫn đưa người khác cũng như chính
mình vào con đường lầm lạc hay diệt vong. Những kẻ khoác lác, dối trá, giả
hình có thể nhất thời lừa bịp được một số người, nhưng sớm muộn cũng sẽ bị
bại lộ và sẽ phải chuốc lấy hậu quả khó lường: “Cây kim trong bọc lâu ngày
cũng phải lòi ra”.</span></p>

anh ta, nên thấy hiểu lời nói và việc làm của con mình không thể đảm nhận
việc lớn. Nhưng vua Triệu không quan tâm đến câu: “Lời nói phải đi đôi với
việc làm”, cứ cho rằng Triệu Quát là bậc kỳ tài trong thiên hạ và trao cho
việc lớn. Kết quả không chỉ Triệu Quát bị hại mà còn liên quan đến tính mạng
của 40 vạn quân. Mù mà dẫn mù thì việc sa xuống hố chỉ là sớm hay muộn mà
thôi.</span></p>

em, mà cái xà trong con mắt của chính mình thì lại không để ý tới” (Lc 6,
41). Người ta thường rất hà tiện trong lời khen ngợi, nhưng lại quảng đại
trong tiếng chê bai. Có thể nói một trong những tội con người dễ phạm nhất:
đó là hay xét đoán, nghĩ xấu, nghĩ sai cho người khác.</span></p>

không nên nhìn vào đôi mắt kẻ khác để thấy “cái rác” trong đó, hay “bới lông
tìm vết” để xét đoán, chỉ trích họ, nhưng hãy nhìn vào chính đôi mắt tâm hồn
mình, để thấy “cái đà” của kiêu căng tự mãn, của phô trương giả hình, để
thanh lọc cho nên trong sáng. Vì người xưa có câu “Việc người thì sáng, việc
mình thì quáng”, nên việc nhìn lại chính mình để tự kiểm thảo luôn là điều
cần thiết của mỗi tín hữu Kitô, nhất là những việc lãnh đạo, hướng dẫn các
tâm hồn. Triết gia Chilon cũng cho chúng ta một luật sống bất hủ: “Hãy tự
biết mình”. Thánh Âu-tinh thường cầu nguyện: “Lạy Chúa Giêsu, xin cho con
biết Chúa, xin cho con biết con”.</span></p>

kẻ may mắn thường là những người có tâm hồn lạc quan vui vẻ, họ có thói quen
nhìn vào mặt tích cực của sự việc và vào điều tốt của kẻ khác. Trái lại,
những kẻ bất hạnh thường có thái độ tiêu cực, thù hằn, họ thích nhìn vào

đoạn Tin mừng hôm nay: “Cây tốt thì sinh trái tốt, cay xấu thì sinh trái
xấu” (Lc 6,43). Lời nói việc làm của người tín hữu Kitô chỉ có thể sinh hoa
kết trái tốt tươi, nếu siêng năng suy niệm và thực hành Lời Chúa. Đời sống
của chúng ta chỉ có thể “phát xuất ra sự lành” nếu chúng ta được nuôi dưỡng
bằng Mình Thánh Chúa vì Lời Chúa là lời yêu thương và Mình Chúa là Bí tích
tình yêu. Những ai sống trong vị kỷ, xét đoán, chỉ trích và thù hằn, kẻ ấy
sẽ chết trong bóng tối gian ác của chính mình.</span></p>
