là tại miền Bắc giàu truyền thống lễ hội. Ta vẫn còn nghe những lời chúc
thịnh vượng, khang ninh cho năm mới. Đầu năm mới, các nước trên thế giới đều
phấn đấu để kinh tế phát triển, tăng thu nhập cho toàn dân. Thế nhưng Lời
Chúa hôm nay lại nói: “Hỡi anh em là những kẻ nghèo khó, anh em thật có
phúc, vì Nước Thiên Chúa là của anh em”. Phải chăng Chúa Giêsu phản lại tiến
bộ, muốn nhân loại tụt hậu?</span></p>

về kinh tế, nhưng nói về hạnh phúc, nhưng vật chất tự nó chưa phải là hạnh
phúc. Câu chuyện về công nương Diana là một minh hoạ rõ nét.</span></p>

<span style="margin: 0px; padding: 0px">Mùa hè năm 1997, cả thế giới xôn xao
về cái chết của công nương Diana. Công nương Diana là một phụ nữ xinh đẹp.
Từ khi kết hôn với thái tử Charles, con của nữ hoàng nước Anh, công nương
trở thành người có danh vọng và đồng thời cũng có nhiều tiền của vào bậc
nhất trên thế giới. Có lẽ ai cũng nghĩ rằng một phụ nữ đẹp đẽ, giàu sang,
phú quý như thế phải là người hạnh phúc nhất trên đời. Nhưng không đúng như
thế. Công nương rất đau khổ vì cảnh gia đình thiếu tình yêu thương chân
thực. Thái tử Charles vẫn lén lút quan hệ với người tình cũ. Đau khổ mà
chẳng thể nói ra, vì cả gia đình bên chồng muốn giữ uy tín cho hoàng gia.
Chán nản với đời sống gia đình, công nương đã tìm vui bên người bạn trai
mới. Trong một chuyến đi chơi ở Paris, cả hai bị thiệt mạng trong một tai
nạn xe hơi. Có nhiều người cho rằng chính hoàng gia Anh đã gây ra tai nạn.
Không ai nghĩ rằng cuộc đời công nương có hạnh phúc, dù bà có tất cả: sắc
đẹp, tiền của, danh vọng.</span></p>

nhưng chỉ lên án thái độ sử dụng vật chất. Vật chất do Chúa dựng nên để phục
vụ con người. Chúa dựng nên và Chúa thấy mọi sự đều tốt đẹp. Nhưng con người
đã làm sai chương trình của Chúa. Thay vì sử dụng vật chất như phương tiện,
người ta đã biến nó thành mục đích. Thay vì sử dụng vật chất phục vụ đồng
loại, người ta đã sử dụng đồng loại để phục vụ vật chất. Đó là những thái độ
bị Chúa lên án. Những thái độ ấy biến vật chất thành chướng ngại ngăn cản ta
đạt đến hạnh phúc Nước Trời.</span></p>

cảnh nghèo, càng không khuyến khích những người vì lười biếng mà trở nên
nghèo. Chúa chỉ khuyến khích những người vì Nước Trời mà tự nguyện sống
nghèo.</span></p>

nguyện trở nên nghèo là những người hiểu biết giá trị thực sự của tiền bạc.
Biết rõ tiền bạc chỉ là phương tiện nên họ dùng tiền bạc mà không dính bén,
có tiền mà không nô lệ cho đồng tiền, nhất là biết dùng tiền vào những việc
hữu ích cho đồng loại. Vì tha nhân, vì Nước Trời mà tự nguyện sống nghèo.</span></p>

thế không làm cho xã hội tụt hậu, trái lại giúp phát triển xã hội, đưa nhân
loại tiến lên. Không chỉ tiến lên về văn minh vật chất mà còn tiến về nền
văn minh tình thương.</span></p>

thế giúp nâng cao nhân phẩm con người, đem niềm vui cho người sầu khổ, gieo
niềm hy vọng cho những người bị bỏ quên, đem tình thương đến cho những người
bị gạt ra ngoài lề xã hội.</span></p>

thế không phải là những người lười biếng, hèn nhát, uỷ mị, bạc nhược. Trái
lại đó là thái độ của những tâm hồn dũng mạnh, luôn phấn đấu với chính mình
để nâng tâm hồn mình và nâng cả thế giới lên.</span></p>

mối phúc cho thế giới, cho nhân loại. Thế giới sẽ tốt đẹp biết bao nếu có
nhiều người tự nguyện như thế.</span></p>

tuần lễ, thế giới lại xôn xao về một đám tang khác: đám tang của mẹ Tesexa
Cancutta. Khác hẳn với công nương Diana, mẹ Tesexa là một nữ tu già nua,
sống một đời sống nghèo. Trong phòng của mẹ chỉ có một chiếc ghế và một chậu
thau đựng nước. Người ta cho mẹ nhiều tiền, nhưng mẹ tự nguyện sống nghèo,
dành hết tiền của để giúp những người nghèo, những trẻ mồ côi, tàn tật. Khi
Đức Giáo hoàng sang thăm Ấn Độ, thấy mẹ đi lại công tác nhiều, tặng mẹ một
xe hơi sang trọng. Nhưng khi Đức Giáo hoàng về, mẹ đã bán xe lấy tiền giúp
người nghèo. Có 40 nguyên thủ quốc gia đến tham dự đám tang của mẹ. Và Ấn
Độ, một nước không ưa gì đạo Công giáo, đã cử hành quốc tang cho mẹ. Hai
mươi mốt phát súng đại bác tiễn đưa linh hồn mẹ trong khi các vị nguyên thủ
quốc gia quyền uy đứng cúi đầu kính cẩn trước thi hài vị nữ tu già nua,
nghèo khó. Mẹ đã thực hành Lời Chúa: “Phúc cho anh em là người nghèo khó, vì
Nước Trời thuộc về anh em”.</span></p>
